Their is now a V2 version of of this car, they have switched to a 4300kv motor & down to a 19t 0.7M pinion to help with the cogging issues when running on grass. They have also addressed the range issues on the radio on the V2 cars.
@@chizzle2457 Banggood list the 2 different brushless motors 3400kv & 4300kv as random delivery, I take that to mean you could recieve either mk1 or mk2 versions.
Great vid Richie! I don't think I'll be getting the 124016/7, because of the cogging (that can be fixed, with a little gear change work), but mainly because I just finished converting my 144001 to brushless a week ago! I'm running a budget bashing setup, with a Surpass hobby combo 2440 4600kv + 35a BL ESC, as well as a new motor mount, Wltoys A959 15t pinion (pretty rare), and M2.5x8mm hex screws. Absolutely a blast, I thought the 144001 was pretty lively before on the brushed motor, now it's a whole new beast! Much improved acceleration, battery life, heat management, effeciency, plus a few MPH higher top speed (about 37-38 flat out in ideal conditions), and torque.
I bought this car on Banggood preorders months ago. It's a brilliant little car! There's a lot of hate for this cheap Chinese cars but these Wltoys ones are proper hobby grade cars. I haven't broken anything on mine yet and I jump it a lot on my ramp, I take 8-10 metre long (between 1-2 metre high) jumps easily and not breakages. Awesome value for money.

Both of my mine (this one and 124016) cog to the point it’s just not fun. Plus the body on the one is completely twisted due to not being large enough for the electronics underneath. They’re good deals but that’s still over $200 sitting on the shelf. I’ve ordered another motor so that I can change the pinion gear. Ordered a few weeks ago lol. 3s helped a little. Surpass program card made it worse. New surpass esc didn’t help at all. So it’s def 100% in the gearing. They sold an awful lot of these knowing good and well they had a major issue. Not cool! I will say, though, that my 124016 is a fantastic car. I run it on 3s and unless I’m on a high traction road with wheels turned (that will cause it to cog indefinitely. Refusing to go forward) it runs great on the road. It won’t start from a stop in the grass. That’s the way it goes sometimes though!

always wondered richie, what made you move from the uk to the states? i aint bashing you for it lol, im 16 but ive always wanted to live in the states or australia (only temporay though haha) just wondering how much of a head ache was it making the move???

The V2 motor is the same size 2845 but upped to 4300kv + going down to 19t 0.7 mod pinion instead of 3400kv on the V1 version that used a 26t pinion.
