I met Ad-Rock at a grocery store recently, such a cool and humble dude. First album I got (Ill Communication), first concert, the Beasties will always be a part of me.
What a bleesing it is that with your best friends you found an emblematic band. What a bleesing to know with them the glory and success. What a bleesing it is to watch the time with them and grow old together. What a bleesing to be able to create music with your best friends to brighten the lives of so many people. It's true, MCA's death wasn't a bleesing, but the gift of his presence for 47 years will always be appreciated. Thanks MCA, Mike D and Adrock for so many memories...but above all for being our unforgettable and fun Beastie Boys 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just noticed "DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince" are on the bottom of that list. The Beastie Boys are truly from "the Family Tree of Old-School Hip Hop"
Haha, Did you look at the grading chart? Kool Moe Dee gave the Beastie Boys a ‘10’ in the ‘Sticking To Themes’ category, so in Intergalactic that’s why Mike D says “Got an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes.”
MrCctvtech totally agree but im puzzled about AH saying MC didnt cuss... that cat (who is cool af by the way) cusses more than anyone I ever met... non-stop (one of the many attributes he has, in my book). It wouldnt be out of their 'modus operandi' to through out some mis-info as a cut up ... these guys and there team... fkn love them!!!
Well, people DO have oatmeal baths AND milk baths, and there is soaps made with milk and honey etc so, they weren't far off :') I figured snacking in the bath was just a THING tbh... :p
Well that was confusing.... Sabotage playing and the B Boys *not* (I repeat: *_not_*) jumping around, throwing sofas in random directions and shouting the lyrics. Weird. So weird.
why would any one downvote this? Love you guys more than you can imagine, maybe kinda sorta. Actually you guys have a great imagination. But love you guys so much.
It looked like he gave good grades to all his friends. The fact that he gave a higher grade to Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince than to Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys means I think he was threatened or turned off by them because they were very successful and also very different from his style. Perhaps he didn't appreciate how those two bands were able to attract a wider fan base than him and some of the other more traditional hip hop artists.
mmmm nnnnnnnnnno. There will probably never be anything close to The Beatles again. There's way too many entertainment options now that one group will never get the chance to take over the public's interest like that again.
It was an absolute shame that LL never battled Kool Moe Dee live! It would have been incredible although I personally believe Kool Moe Dee would have destroyed him lyrically and he knew it!
that's funny Kool Mo Dee gave LL Cool J such a high rating when he was always accusing him of copying Mo Dee and stealing his own style. I guess since he believed LL was copying him, by giving LL an A grade, he was in a way just giving himself another A
The thing is the beastie boys still sound good. Cool moe dee sounds dated and its a fact less people, know of him now. Oh ya he also was a worse rapper i dont care. Those stupid looking glasses
Revolver no, you’re not insulting me at all. It’s nice to not be berated for an opinion. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is. I feel it’s just a bit ‘coffee and converse’ for me. I don’t know, I can’t explain it haha.
i liked the beastie boys back in the day, but could not care less what they have to say or any inclination at all to read their book. i mean, cmon, who gives an f
You can’t judge them on one short minute in their lives that you happened to tune in to. You have to realize that the rest of us are here because these guys made an indelible impression on us with their music and their antics. We respect them.
Don't think they particularly enjoy the PR aspect of being on a talk show after decades of these with nothing left to prove to people most of whom probably don't really know who they are

Coolest dudes on the planet, period.
Adrock is the cutest thing
And just like that it’s the 90s and I’m thirsty for Adrock again 😂😂
It happens yea.🤔
For me it's more of a hunger than thirst, tho. 😂 He is a tasty snack. Lol. He is scrumptious 😌
he has aged VERY well

It's how funny how he gave them a 6 in versatility. Even in their early days, they were the most versatile hip-hop group imo.
mike on intergalactic: "got an a from moe dee for sticking to themes"
I think they meant lyrical versatility. Musically they are probably one of the most versatile rap groups to ever exist.
Great friendship that's the best part
Woooah now I know where the lyric "got an A from Moe Dee for sticking to themes" comes from
Yeah. But how does that make you a good rapper??
what song is that in?
@@Dazlidorne it's in Intergalactic
The lyric is “Thank Moe Dee for sticking to themes”.
@@radish6691 the report card literally gives them A in the category of "sticking to the themes", that is the lyric.
Mike D's voice sounds like he's still 21
FOR REALLL
He's always been my favorite. He has a force or power behind his voice that the others don't.
Nothing says Christmas like The Beastie Boys!
Lmao i almost clicked on the bell
BB are arguably the best on that report card.
Just noticed "DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince" are on the bottom of that list. The Beastie Boys are truly from "the Family Tree of Old-School Hip Hop"
Now these cats are what talent is. Pioneers doesnt do them justice.
Respect to Kool Mo Dee for putting our a report card like that..takes balls to judge everyone like that...though his rankings are pretty bad.
Just based about liscence to ill, the BB werent as great as later album. They were only 20.
