    When i got my first bottle of old spice, i had that very strange feeling that i already used it a lot in the past, yet i never used it before at that time, and even my dad never used it. So it turned out that my grandfather used it, and i knew the scent by just being around him as a kid. Our grandfathers sure knew how to get a great shave on. 👍🏻

    Adjustable are also good for people new to double edge shaving. Start on the milder settings (1 - 3) and move to the higher ones (4 - 7) as you get more experience.

    • @EricAdamsYT
      @EricAdamsYT 3 года назад

      @@averageguytested I don't have a Fatboy. I buy things off eBay pretty regularly so I'm pretty confident I'll find a decent one for a good price eventually. I'm happy getting a user-grade one. If I love it I can always get it refreshed and replated. On a slightly different note, I just found out that Gillette kept making DE razors into the 80s. They are black-handled Super Speed razors. A lot of guys go for a birth year razor but I didn't think they existed. Now I do so I'll be grabbing one eventually. If you are going the vintage route you'll probably want to check out a Super Speed and a Tech at some point. Both great shavers.

      You found a slim for 15 on ebay? The cheapest I've found is 50 bucks

    • @EricAdamsYT
      @EricAdamsYT 2 года назад

      @@vicenzinu3668 It's amazing how expensive things have gotten. I think it speaks to the popularity of traditional shaving, where just a few years ago there was an abundance of secondhand gear available for very modest prices. I also blame resellers who control the market by buying up all the low priced stock and selling it for sometimes 10x what they bought it for. I get that people fill a need when there's a market but it seems a little predatory to me. Anyway, there are still deals to be had on occasion if you stay vigilant. Good luck!

    Cannot beat the vintage Gillette adjustables. Smooth enough for daily shaving, yet can be turned up for stubborn collicks and patches where more aggressiveness is needed. The vintage Gillettes are constructed of brass, they'll go another century, whereas the modern Zamak razors likely won't make it five years.

    Tony, if the razors are in good condition (and it looks like yours are) I would urge not to get them replated. I can’t do it with mine because I love the patina and don’t want to take any of the originality away. You have a wonderful pair of razors and I wouldn’t replate them unless the original plating was in bad condition which doesn’t seem to be the case with yours. I have a couple of those that are a little rough and I can’t bring myself to replate them lol
