Its named after baron manfred von richtoffen (aka "the red baron") who was a ww1 german fighter pilot "ace" who had 80 confirmed kills to his credit before he himself was shot down and killed.
So glad i picked this guy up cant see anyone making a better version. I have found folding up the wing parts on the feet section to pretty much give give him shinguards has helped in posing him better.
The stands were available to purchase when DX9 released their WiP Seekers. The individually sold ones come with an adapter to plug into the Seekers, and I think Swoop.

The Astoria figure is cute. I loved that episode as a kid and still do now.
This is a nice looking figure. DX9 seems like a really good company to buy from. The gun with this figure looks VERY G1 and that's a good thing.
I have to say-- I love when you bring out the tape measure. It's real hard to get a sense of scale sometimes.

I just started collecting Masterpiece Transformers and Third Party. I already got MP-10, MP-18 Bluestreak, MP-12 Sideswipe, and MP-30 Ratchet.
I have a budget of $150-$170. I was wondering which figure I should buy next... I just can't make a decision.
Autobots... Decepticons.. third party.. Which figures do you suggest?

Bit late, but I just noticed your post.
MP-Soundwave is a must-have but he will cost more than that. MP-39 Sunstreaker is very good. Other good masterpieces are Ultra Magnus and Bumblebee. Wheeljack is nice to have too.
3rd party stuff is often expensive. The Fanstoys Dinobots are awesome and are being reissued soon, about €160 each. Their Galvatron is €145. They have a Cyclonus coming for €125. This DX9 Powerglide is cool too.
For seekers, you probably want to go 3rd party. The Maketoys ones are popular right now.
But what you buy ultimately depends on your taste.

Great review and I agree with you about this being the best G1 Powerglide to date. I always loved him as a character and I will be looking to add this guy to my collection. Hasbro had an opportunity to do this but did not :( Oh well, that is why I love the 3rd party companies especially for us older G1 guys. Thanks again.

So DX9 has put out this version of Powerglide & 2 other companies have done knock offs of it. Those being AoD & Pocket Toys...as far as I can tell. Nothing on FansToys site says they plan on doing one of their own & I've yet to find a Takara forecast of their plans.
Not sure what to get, or if I should wait.

Not a huge fan of Powerglide but this guy does look gorgeous.
I'm really fussy with altmodes, though; I'd want his jet more to scale with the Seekers.

My toy’s chest piece is so tight I cannot pull it out. It is impossible to spin it around. Quality Control obviously missed that with my copy.

You're about right, it should be pronounced rickt-offen.
Just set Google Translate to translate from German to any other language, type Richthofen in the German entryfield and click the speaker icon in that same German entryfield. You'll get more of a "Richt Owfun". 😉
