Being a kid at heart is good for your well being so it's okay to be a adult and have a collection of toys. I'm 46 and I have more Hot Wheels and other brands of 1/64 scale model cars than I ever did as a kid. Part of that was the fact that I was a 1980s kid who was very hard on his toys, hammers and fireworks where part of my "play tool box" lol. As long as you still have the money needed to do all the things that adults have to do, go out and buy yourself something as you can afford to.

R us and my brother got a gen 1 Galveston, I on the other hand got 5 gijoe men and small and the cobra stun! Needless to say he was disappointed, for we could rarely get such things

@fizzydinosaur Laserbeak, Frenzy, Ravage, Rumble, and Radbat. Spent a year's allowance to get the whole set back in the day.😧
soundwave's voice is not the same as optimus prime's they're two different voice actors, however they did bring back the original voice actor for soundwave in the Michael bay transformers movies he was in.

Amazing how detailed is made, this is pure nostalgia. Soundwave the trustful decepticon, the droid voice and the only transformer who had his own transformers, my favourite after Optimus and Megatron.
The Autobots had their own version of Soundwave in Soundblaster. He also had tapes that could transform.
If soundwave wasn’t a decepticon I feel like he would down to earth(both literally and figuratively) and just hang out and play music with his cassettes

This has to be the best Soundwave figure ever. I'm sold on the fact that most of his minions' accessories/weapons are already attached upon transformation.

There's a replica made by China almost d' same as Takara but there is no Decepticon logo the price in Philippines is $67usd
I love how all of Soundwaves and Lazerbeaks weapons and accessories fit inside the toy and appear during the transformation💯

Wow timing, I was given Soundwave as a kid one Christmas by my uncle & aunty. Unfortunately, my aunt just passed away just a day after this video was uploaded. Thank you for the upload & bringing back good memories of my Aunt.

Soundwave is really cool, and kind of ironic for today's times. He's a high tech Robot that plays cassette tapes.

You know people built internal combustion engines, firearms and jet engines without Autocad, which are infinetely harder to do than this?
@@tedstyle3798 Those were made by much larger teams with expertise across multiple fields and degrees of development.
This toy however was designed by a very small team which required an incredible understanding of spacial awareness and recombinant geometry.
Just because those things were difficult doesn't make this toy's solving any less difficult.
All the more incredible when you consider how... dumbed down?... the complexity of these toys became. Look at how many twists and turns and pulls it took to transform. A decade later, its counterparts had all the movement of a flip phone.
@@robsilvester6213 You obvioulsy know nothing about transformers figures, first, this figure is not from the 80's or something like that , it's from this decade, from a line called Masterpiece, and second, there are today far more complex figures than this one.
The creativity of this toy and the tapes was why I thought Sound Wave was a badass toy as a kid.

@@lasarith2 I know and it was wrong. I also thought that he was rumble but he's actually frenzy in the toy line which is what the cartoon is based on. I have the cassettes.

the decepticons always had the cooler ones. This soundwave was probably the coolest one. The Soundwave in the movies looked nothing like this one. If they didn't call it Soundwave I would have never known that was him in the movie.
yes it makes me sad, also im sorry but i would have rather had the constructicons form the Devastator giant robot than the weird robot they formed.
@@jigamac71 although the soundwave in the movie was quite terrifying. it just destroyed everything in it's path. I think they made him more like a virus instead of a actual decepticon that could transform etc.
anyway.. .I did like the constructicons and Dinobots. they were one of the cooler autobots.
Transformer movies are all shit. Just saw the first one when it came out with huge expectation and I was so disappointed. No interest seeing the rest at all…

I had this soundwave action figure when I was a kid, this is going back in the early 80's. He was always my favorite transformer.
Imagine standing outside of a bedroom door, and you realise you're hearing the voices of Soundwave and a Cylon just going at it.....

Yes! Soundwave was the ILLEST of AAALL the Transformers at that time! He looked the coolest he had the miniature soldiers Laserbeak,Ravage & Rumble! AAAND he turned into a radio! In the mid 80's Hip-Hop was breakin'out, and too a young black kid at that time a boom box was the coolest thing to walk around with😎👍

Just watching this video reminded me of the time when I worked at Toys R Us during the Christmas Season in the mid 80s and collected the Constructicons to build Devastator.
Soundwave was my favorite transformer always wanted one as a kid as a adult I'm so tempted to buy this

The blockyness of the figure makes it more easy to make more alternative modes, i make: a base mode, a train mode, a gun/crossbow mode, a sort of scorpion mode, and of course the classic cybertronian streetlight, making him a sort of SevenChanger.
Also, the minicons can have alternatives modes to complement all the other modes of Soundwave, like a tank and airship modes to Rumble and Frenzy, a turret and axe mode to Ratpack, a car and crossbow mode to Ravage, and manny more.
@Blustar_5, I put his legs together and his arms and head forded up with the turret and the gun of the back in the top part, it barely looks like a train, but it seemed like some kind of cybertronian space train/ship to me
I had this when I was a kid. Up until my cousins got to it. "Share" my mom said. The only thing I had left was Ravage.

Just make Soundwave an hdtv with surround speakers that turn into weapons and the "casettes" would instead be game consoles that hookup. You could even have an entertainment center that works like Optimus Prime's trailer. There is always a way.

He's in the movies as a satellite. And in several cartoons as a car with I jacked sound system. So he loses three retro flair but the monotone voice and little companions are still around.
From an Army perspective this makes Soundwave a Signal Officer.

Just heads up, that was Frenzy, not Rumble, Rumble's blue, Frenzy's red
that was an early error in the show. Only one ep did they call the purple/blue one rumble. From that point on they called the purple/blue one frenzy. The toys and comic that came out the same time as the show Had rumble be red and the purple/blue one as frenzy.

This was my favorite decepticon watching the animated series when I was a kid, I always waited for him to transform.
Soundwave was always the most coveted of transformers. You never had both cassettes at once but they were never truly lost

I Just brought this transformer, I always wanted it as a kid. It is definitely premium and worth every penny. It was a little difficult at first but when you get the hang of it, it's fun to transform.

If you want to buy the knock off there plenty on Ebay and it usually go for $60 to $80. Now if you want the real one just search on Amazon it it usual price is around $160 to $300. If you are cheap buy it from a Japanese seller. The waiting time is long but it worth it if yo don't want to spend over $200

My 46 year old brain can't recall the name of Soundwave's "cat tape"...I found it his name is, Ravage. I also learned that there have been around 25 Decepticon Mini-Cassettes over the years. These three are just the top of the list.
My Original Soundwave did not transform like this. This one looks cooler. I WANT!
