I think the FIA redeemed themselves in the final race, ruling in ham's favor at the beginning and allowing the backmarkers to overtake for the last lap sprint. It was merc that drop the ball with leaving ham out on old tyres, if he had fresh ones we would have seen some of the best driving over 1 lap in the last decade.

I'm using R-60 + R-3R setup. In my opinion despite R-3R being rathet... Average - they can put a good work against passive enemies or those who got used to removing R-60 from them by flaring and are suprised when it turns out that flares don't work.
Despite just 10G overload it goes for the target out of the rail rather fast, plus you can lead your shots thanks to big seeker field.

Hello Defyn! What are your opinions on the Hunter F6's position at 10.3? Personally I think that it doesn't deserve to be at 10.3, but its just a classic case of compression
with agm locking, is it best to aim slightly infront while maintaining full lock 'red circle' before firing missile?
that anecdote about the 2v2 is why it irks me when experienced players say there is no such thing as kill stealing. i can't understand why they don't think it is bad when players are rewarded for wasting time and energy on planes that have been effectively removed from the match just so they can put their own team at a disadvantage.
Mostly its not the actual experienced players that say that.

@@Yeffy i've seen a lot of people on the forums with several times more battles played played than i do saying so, and i have 3000+ hours in the game. it might be a thing only within certain circles of experienced players, idk.
@@flynntaggart8549 High battles played / High hours doesn't mean much when the average player is subpar at this game. Yea, the more you play the more you learn (hopefully) but i've met some pretty bad people with high hours and high battles played and also good players with low battles and low hours. Kill steals are a thing and always will be. Context matters highly but them arguing there is no such thing as a kill steal is ignorant.

Hello Defyn! I recently downloaded WarThunder and found your guides on aiming and energy fighting very helpful. One thing I still struggle with, though, is boom-and-zooming: whenever I try to do it, I always seem to lose too much speed to do to "zoom" part properly, and I often end up giving my victim a shot on me as I try to get away. What advice do you have to do it better? I currently mostly play planes with a BR of about 1.7-3.0, by the way.
Depends on which tree you're playing, and before zooming, try to have some energy advantage on the enemy otherwise the enemy will be able to replicate after your zoom climb
know your planes, a slow plane wont be able to zoom away from a fast plane
What planes are you trying it in? I would recommend getting to the he100 in the German tree because it's a seal clubbing machine but it forces you to learn BnZ

Hi defyn, does verticle targetting actually help to put lead in deflection shots? Or is it just the reticle thats moved? Lately iv come to think it does, it actually angles your gun physially up, but im unsure.
It angles your gun
But it doesn't necessarily help
It just aims it in a different direction
It's kinda awkward when you don't fly level with horizon as it shoots the gun up in relation to the cockpit

@@TransportSupremo It may help to pull lead in a turn since guns are pointed further in a turn than your nose, but you have to be mindful of that at all times.
It feels awkward when you're not in level, when enemy is too close and when your wings plane is not perpendicular to the turn direction.
And I'd say having vertical convergence on is even detrimental in a dive, because you have to dive at steeper angle to get guns on target.
*tl;dr:* beneficial in sustained turn, bad in a dive, doesn't make much difference for deflection shots on quick passes.
I'm having problems with trying to play strategically like this due to spotting. I've seen enemies in the distance that I'm looking directly at just disappear about 2k out, and reappear when they're firing at me from 700m. my crew is maxed out on spotting too. it's frustrating to the point where I rarely play air RB.

Do you use vertical targetting for the mig guns? I am finding it very hard to hit at all without it, but it introduces its own problems when used
I only use it on the mig15/17
In general i would say only use if it you're used to it, it's a matter of what you're used to. I think without is better overall but if you're used to flying with it then don't disable it

I haven’t flown it but what I can see. Has same engine as MF I believe missiles are nothing special max over load 10G so they pretty much have to not be paying attention. Only pro I see is it speed ups your grind while not being brains dead bombing with SU7. Just my thoughts haven’t flown the plane.

Looking at your videos I understand that I will never have your aim! I fly quite well, often got the window to shoot but... no, I miss the target and then I'm the target myself 'cause the enemies have a better aim. Up to Rank II and III props I can manage to make good matches but superprops and jets are too fast for my bad aim.
I was struggling using the SMT, mainly because I was stock and my team kept falling apart in 3 minutes.
Go bombing or ground targets... air targets or headon other players and hope for a kill...

I’ve unlocked rank 7 in a few nations but I just can’t get into it. The stock grind is basically impossible! No flares, inadequate missiles, and much more. Any tips on how to get into it? In America I have everything up to 9.7 spaded, but now 10.0 and above I’m struggling with
f4c is amazing in america. the f4e on the other hand is only good when people get greedy and chase you at the moment.
If you have the USSR try that.
The mld gets R13M1s as a first mod so after ~15 games (without premium) you basically have a 4 aim9j loadout.
Also it seems like russian pilots are the only ones who still work as a team so you generally won't be in a 1v10 after 5 minutes. Gl :)
Edit: yes the US gets bombs and a vulcan to grind but i can't stand how the team always throws itself in a furball on the deck and disappears so that's up to you.

Honestly, I preferred taking a pair of R-60s and a pair of R-3Rs... when they work, they work; plus, most people don't expect front-aspect from a MiG-21
