- I've been using the MiG-21SMT extensively to grind the MiG-29. I thought it would simply be the least painful option to grind Russian tier 8, boy was I in for a surprise. This plane is a genuine delight to fly and I had more fun in a high battle rating (10.3) than I have in a long time. This game provides a good template for how to consistently get kills in the aircraft Hope you enjoy!

I just came across your channel trough the 1v7 Mig-19 video and I must tell you, I really enjoy your content. Also I've just played a couple of games with the Mirage IIIE after like a year and it was absolutely fun. I agree with your point on the 10.3 BR.

True, 10.3 is like the best br in war thunder air battles to have fun (apart from low tier)
i really wanted the MiG21 SMT to paint it with the LANCER camouflage from Romanian Airforce but when I was 30K rp away from it, Gaijin moved it to rank 7 without even changing the BR now I have to pay 8 more jets to be able to unlock and start grinding from scratch. Very nice.

Also, when playing the thing, I had to keep telling myself "just go fast" to not get into a turnfight with the ungodly F-5C spam even by accident

What I find interesting is that when I started playing a few months ago, there were a lot of mig21 videos. I wasn't fond of it bc of its looks but my main plane now is a mig21mf. 😂 really fun plane to use.

I love the mig21 smt, great aircraft! I love being able to outrun basically everything at the br
no way you can`t outurn f5s. smt feel like fw 190 with afterburner she`s never pull up at low speed

the smt is a cool plane but its kinda bad at its br when you are stuck with the r3r/r3s missile but when finally unlocking the r60 the plane gets to its peak
Really liked the video, would def recommend raising your voice 30-40 percent, hard to hear you mid match - want to hear your commentary better.
Anyone have problems with enemy disappear when right in front of you in hud only showing the wing trails......this mog is broken for me on Xbox..
Hi, which Premium plane did you recommend me to grind all URSS, im thinking to buy Su-25K or Mig-23ML, I also play RB and i have top tier so... What can i do?
If you have the lions for it putting a talisman on the MiG21-SMT is the way to go. Either the su 25 or mig23ml will be ok for grinding, depends if u prefer ground pounding or air to air.
Sub sonic planes really suck for grinding, you need something you can just spam out games with

Oh thats when I hit the 2nd stage afterburner. I only run 1st stage until I get to around the bases to save fuel

Unfortunately not quite, high tier is still pretty compressed. But there are more options here than other BRs. F5, MiG 21, Mirage 3E, Crusador, AJ37 off the top of my head should be competitive

10.3 is compressed to hell lol. THIS is one of the good vehicles tho, fun to play for sure. half of the others are just painful
Oh, no doubt yes, the majority of all jets are compressed to hell. I'd MUCH rather play 10.3 than 9.3 or 11.3 though, the best of bad options, it can be a good time in a few different vehicles

i have 475 kills vs 140 deaths, just pretend it's mig 25 start the game by climbing to 5000m using my 2 r3r and then i go down and start 3rd partying
i got more kills with r3r than r60
u meant to say R3R in the first two minutes. The R3S is the shitty IR missile.
you forgot to mention, if you dont get 4 kills, you arent making money, even with premium you need 3 kills to get positive lions
? Didnt really experience this. I have premium but I would be making money as long as I got a kill or two, made plenty of lions flying it
thats only if you die, even getting 1-2 kills per game is okay if you survive half of them. still, could definitely be a bit cheaper.
this thing and the 23 MLD was the dream duo last year, funnest jets to spade after the MiG-15 (which I did many many years before the A-10)
