La cérémonie d'ouverture a du être conçue en fonction des différents sites qui bordent la Seine, et la Conciergerie est surtout connue pour avoir été la prison où Marie-Antoinette a été détenue avant son exécution. Donc ça évoque immanquablement la Révolution Française qui est une époque où le peuple français s'est soustrait au joug de l'absolutisme monarchique (Marie-Antoinette n'était ni plus ni moins "mauvaise" que les autres reines de France, elle était seulement celle qui régnait au moment où les Français se sont soulevés et elle incarnait avec son mari Louis XVI cet absolutisme abhorré). Le choix d'une Marie-Antoinette présentée décapitée dans un côté excessif et artificiel et donc assez irréaliste est un choix qui assume la violence de l'époque, mais qui ne la valorise pas. La musique métal exprime aussi l'excès et la rage de cette époque, c'est donc un choix très approprié. Gojira, un groupe français assez connu dans le monde de la musique métal, a été sollicité pour écrire un morceau basé sur la chanson révolutionnaire populaire "Ah ça ira", une chanson héritée de 1789. Le fait de mixer le morceau avec une chanteuse lyrique qui reprend les parole de la chanson révolutionnaire, mais sur l'air de "l'amour est un oiseau rebelle" (connu sous le nom de "Habanera" chez les anglo-saxon) de l'opéra "Carmen" de Bizet, est à la fois une proposition musicale très intéressante, mais aussi une valorisation du côté historiquement "rebelle" de la Ville de Paris dont le blason est le bateau sur lequel elle est perchée.
Que des bigots jugent sataniques la musique métal et la présentation d'une reine décapitée est plutôt rigolo. A quoi ça sert d'être audacieux si ça ne choque personne ? Tant qu'il y a des polémiques, cela prouve qu'on a raison d'user de notre liberté créative...

Yes that is the place where she was imprisioned and sentanced, I do believe tho she was executed elsewhere. But yes the visuals are stunning with a pyro budget that would make Disney envious. The red streamers signifying blood from the guillotine. A song sung from the French Revolutionary war, by a French metal band who sings about saving whales and tribes in the rainforest.. Epic. This is a hige win for the metal community and exposing this kind of music to almost a billion people. Side note: The band Gojira went from 1.9 million streams on Spotify to almost 3 in 4 days.. thats an incredible feat.

Pour etre honnete, a quelques exceptions pret, la musique Allemande est meh.
Pyro effects were good, but compared to Ramstein's pyro show they looked like firecrackers you buy on gas stations.

The bands name was originally Godzilla in 1996 but due to legal reasons they had to change it in 2001. Gojira is the rōmaji style spelling of Godzilla
c'est encré dans notre histoire, je connais cette chanson pourtant elle a 150 ans, il faut comprendre que si la France a fait la révolution, c'est suite à des abus sociaux pandémie, famine, guerre, impots sans répit pendant des siècles le peuple français s'est révolté et c'est resté dans l inconscient collectif! dés que quelque chose ne va pas pas les français descendent dans la rue et manifeste! d'ou notre réputation de raleur. On voit au début ("la conciergerie" ancienne résidence des roi de france au moyen age) transformé en prison pendant la révolution, lieu ou marie antoinette a été enfermé jusqu'a son procès comme des des centaines d'autres nobles! Le mot Gojira n'est pas un jeu de mot. Ils s'appelaient Gozilla au départ mais du fait des droits, ils ont changé leur nom en adoptant la phonétique du mot Gozilla en japonais.
