Hello, my name is Jeremy, I also have a 2006 smart cdi from tri star Mercedes in Saint John. I have been having a hard time finding the correct oil. Some folks say 15w40 and some say 0w30 synthetic. I'm glad you found out what the actual oil recommended is. I called the dealer and they could barely give me any information. Thank you
Drain plug on a diesel Smart ForTwo??? Amazing.. never seen that before. My 2008 certainly doesn't have one and the way I do it is directly just takeout the oil filter plug out and let all the oil drain out in a cascade. Messy and dirty but all the oil will come out and no need for extraction pumps.
Hello, thee really enjoyed the video I own a smart 450 passion coupe 2002 petrol model and have been told that it doesn't have a sump plug or draining bolt and have to pump the old oil out and I was gonna ask for a video showing where the bolt is but I can see it on this one .
Parts are really expensive, you can get them at the Mercedes dealership. I've heard of alot of people actually buying a parts car for parts (2 of my friends that have them actually did that, andafter taking a few parts off it covered the cost of what they paid for the parts car. Ebay is another area to get parts but I'm finding the ebay prices are high. I've bought a few parts on kijiji

You are lucky to have a drain plug as I don't have one despite having the same year and model as you. I even have the same colour scheme.
Man that service interval reset sequence was needlessly complicated lol. We're not launching nukes here Mercedes! 😂
I know eh, couldn't be simple like just pressing a button, suppose that's why an oil change is 150.00

Thank you so much ❤
Your very welcome
Where do you find parts for these cars? In the US, not sure if it's feasible

Will this car have a lot of oil leak problem?
Mine didn't, and didn't use any oil knock on wood!
27mm spanner for oil filter
Well don't leave us all hanging....
What happened to the squealing tire lockup?!?!
The passenger side rear brake pretty much blew apart, I rebuilt both rear brakes with new hardware, brake shoes and drums.
@@PovertyPointCustoms thanks man! I will sleep tight now👍
What are the common problems this car have?
Electrical, and issues with the shifter. Great car if you can tinker with it on your own if not they are pricey to fix.
