Hi there, great video. Person I’m working on one of these vehicles for a client. I have a quick question. It is a 2005 diesel slow crank no star, showing codes for a broken wire in the flood system. Can you use certain fluid to start to see if that’s the issue or common problem with Crank but start with no codes? Thank you.
I tried it but the suction hose curls up leaving loads in there. The oil filter will not come undone as the plastic nut rounds off needing a new one. Too tight by the previous mechanic.
I did the oil change on my 450 cdi with the oil machine and only after i took the filter out. Next time I'll try first the filter to see what will happen...
I just did one today, no drain plug so I removed Oil filter thinking it would all come out but it did not, I had to use an extractor tool into the dip stick hole, that's the only way.
can't you just put a bucket under the car and takeout the oil filter plug and let it all drain out and that's it? seems that would be the easier way and for sure all the oil will come out.
NO! I just did one today, NO! the Oil filter is not the drain, I unscrewed the Oil filter and nothing hardly came out, eventually I had to use an Oil extractor tool. There was no drain plug on the Smart car, however I have previously done a Smart car with drain plug. But I I do not like working on Smart Cars, the Air filter alone took me an hour, had to remove lots of things to remove the top cover.

Smart is very complicated!
Yup, they are!
My 05 has a drain plug thankfully
Alot do but some don't, I did one today, no drain plug, I removed oil filter and nothing came out so I had to use an extractor tool. Pathetic cars.
This job is even dirtier than doing it with a drain plug! How many "horse pers" is this little engine?
I think that was a fool not to put oil drain plug. This 0.8L CDI has 54 German horses.

@@yuidfbse there is no oil drain plug hence doing it this way.
You can replace It!
Hey Vincenzo! What do you mean?
@@PistonShack you can buy a oil Cup with plug.....
Isn’t the oil filter the drain plug? It’s at the bottom of the engine.
Nope, there's no drain plug. Does yours have one?
yes Dez B. the oil filter is the drain plug
