Just got 1056 its big brother . It’s brilliant fan. Love it. My 1056 is huge output of coolness and very quiet on lower settings but still seems to do the job brilliantly. I wanted a portable air conditioner during heatwave and was about to purchase on payday but the Big Brand I wanted had sold out all over internet so I bought 1056 instead and very happy with product……one feature its big brother has is a thermostat control that increases or decreases fan speed depending on temperature of room which is a brilliant idea…..hopefully it will reduce that waking up to a fan on full blast in early morning when bedroom naturally cooler than 6 hours before. …..tons of features and all useful…..brilliant design. Perfect for bedroom I simply place it near bed /foot end and have a breeze blowing over me all night…….because I can’t hear the blades in an intrusive manner like my other fans it seems like a natural breeze as if you opened window …..perfect……although with heatwaves becoming more frequent due to manmade climate change I plan on getting a air con unit next spring and will use to cool room down before bedtime then to save cash and reduce noise will use 1056 fan over night…….worth the extra cash I feel and has 2 year warranty
I got this one and there is still a sound coming from it, yea it is low and I can bear with it. It is much better than the 3 I had before and returned and this is the best I have bought. I find on a 7 or 12 I can sleep but the 1 level I can’t get to sleep with it, so strange but that high pitch sound on 1 or can’t deal with but the other levels it is perfect. Are there any fans that are even more silent than this one? Really would Love to know? Great review.
Hi Jake. Not found any quieter ones. Although I am experimenting with the use of Air Purifiers which do not cool, but certainly help with allergies and comfort.
Just had mine delivered and it's driving me bonkers. I turn it on but it switches itself off anywhere between 7 and 10 minutes completely random. With or without the timer settings. Any ideas or just a faulty one that came off the production line?

@@rahimshah7849 went for 1056. best buy ever, and recommend getting before summer, as usually 20-30% cheaper (in UK).

I agree, 1, 2 setting there's a annoying motor noise, 3 can't hear it, but louder, but bearable fan noise.

That does not sound right, I would contact Meaco support.
Mine failed after just over 2 years meaning less than a full year of actual use. Meaco declined to help.

In terms of bedroom usage, does it have a whirr or buzz, or is it all just air whooshing?
There is a slight whirring noise.
Does it run just as well from a USB 2.0 port? 5v and 0.5 Amps (2.5 watt) seems a bit low for how hard it blows.
It seems to run fine.

Sorry I no longer have this to check in my studio. The person who now uses it has indeed used it on a USB 3 port.
