It's been a while since my last character montage to "The Story of" series. Here's a tribute video to an absolutely phenomenal performance by Jude Law in Paolo Sorrentino's The Young Pope. Thank you for contributing in translations (CC) for my previous videos.
Well done on this! This is one of the best series ever made in my opinion. I visited the Vatican this summer and it's become even more special to me. I'm not even a Christian, I'm agnostic. Can't wait for The New Pope!

Lenny Belardo is the Pope we need but don’t deserve. In her hour of trial the church cries out to her divine master for a Pope like Lenny Belardo a truly humble man who desires nothing for himself but seeks only to help others and lead them to Christ. A man who has the courage to proclaim the church’s teachings (especially the unpopular ones) and lay down church discipline with an iron fist for the good of all no matter what the world says and no matter what the liberals and modernists and corrupt actors inside the church say and do. A man who desires no worldly popularity or friendship and who will make no compromise with the world and who will tolerate no part-time, lily-livered, Sunday only Catholics but who instead wants each and every Catholic to be a fanatic for God who will fearlessly and unashamedly preach the Gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ in their entirety and who will strive to live by them. A man, a Pope who is willing to take radical, bold, dynamic action and who is not content to simply manage decline and tinker round the edges while the flock deserts and/or is lured away. Who is committed to systematically eliminating root and stem all the evils which have infested the church. A man of limitless energy, vision and drive in whose heart burns an unquenchable flame of charity. A man who sets his people aflame with passion and love for their faith. A man of unshakable faith who has complete trust in the will and providence of God. A living saint. A worthy successor to St Peter, who with God's help and grace will lead the church to a glorious rebirth.
Fanatics are a danger not just because of their dangerous beliefs, but because they are too _proud_ of those dangerous beliefs to ever be capable of feeling shame or regret or horror at them. If anything, they will be ashamed only if they feel they aren’t fanatical _enough._ This world has never benefited from fanaticism, from people like you. This is why I’m so pleased that your brand of deranged thinking is dying despite its death throes manifested through people like you, because you know, deep down, that you’re fighting a losing battle even against your own kind who see the pragmatic necessity of modernizing.
I wonder what would happen if this happened in real life. Would it be that different than this? Catholics yearn for someone to bring the church back to what it was.

Really great editing & use of music. The emotions, the characters, the intrigue, all the wonderful elements of this interesting show are captured very nicely in this tribute. Well done!
Depending on how "traditional" you go in christian faith, all the way up to Bible literalism, which forbids a lot of things and believes that killing is just in a lot of circumstances, I would argue no religion has the true answers.
Love these videos. There's something so cool about watching a character grow and change, and your editing choices really gel that journey into a beautifully cohesive narrative. If I may offer a humble suggestion, as you are clearly a fellow Fargo fan, Nikki Swango from season 3? I think she was probably the character with the most 'arc'-y story. Other potential characters who I would love to see your take on would include: Tommy Shelby (from 'Peaky Blinders'), Caesar (from the new 'Apes' movies) and Bojack Horseman. Keep up the great work, I'm a big fan!
Great editing ..It would be great to put that scene where Lenny notices an old couple is not smiling, if you r really summarising his character. And that would not be a spoiler.
I want a pope who keeps celibacy true..no matter what.. because that's one of the strongest of temptations...the priest goes through every second of the priest's lives...they need prayers...and they are role models of faith...not because they choose to serve God bur because God choose them to serve us...

Totally estranged from the Vatican 2 sect, from John 23 to the current one that goes by the stage name Francis and so I was going to not bother watching The Young Pope. But, when I read that he’d called himself Pius 13, I changed my mind. Found the film very profound.
