Even though they set out to take a swipe at Catholics, the Faith, and the Church, HBO ended up unintentionally creating a show that was so visually stunning, so moving, so compelling, so deeply and authentically Catholic that faithful Catholics flocked to it and praised it… so much so that HBO needed to make a trash sequel that basically retconned the whole first show. Great editing, great montage!
I don't think that's true at all. The story of Sir John Brannox is a deeply human one, that any truly contrite Catholic should be able to see a part of themselves in. Lenny's best moments are the person we can aspire to be, and his worst is the hubris we ought to avoid. Jesus at one end and Lucifer at the other. Sir John is us, as mankind, in the middle.
Same thing happened to "Man in the High Castle." The normies looked at a society at peace and at work and went "hmmm" perhaps for the first time in their lives. Upper management freaked; can't have that! Ruin it!
Jude Jude law did an amazing incredible work on this film and I love it with all my heart and love because you could see how honest he is and how beautiful he really is. I’ve been watching it since it came out and I’m still watching it because it’s so beautiful.
