Jude's a brilliant actor. But every interview video I watch, the comment section always talks about his hair. Balding or not, he's still ridiculously good-looking and an amazing actor
That whole cast was like nothing I've ever seen, almost beats Game of Thrones for addictive viewing by actors I've never seen or heard of and I want to know why not. Dump all the Ethan Hawkes out of their cots and fill them with that cast from THE YOUNG POPE.
I love how Stephen lights up when he talks about Catholicism and Lord of the Rings. He really should have a show where he just talks religion. We need more catholic throwdown!
Another interview that doesn't let Jude Law talk about the actual story. Just a shitload of stupid questions and lame jokes. This series is art. Brilliant and hilarious.
@Tinsi33: It’s true. Colbert cuts Jude off at every turn - doesn’t let him finish answering the previous question before interjecting to (try to) get a laugh or to show off. It’s irritating as hell and terrible interview etiquette. A true pro, Jude remains gracious despite Colbert’s pushiness. And yes, the show is a masterpiece.
That was part of making him Lenny. And his parents being hippies. They all sounded Chicagoan, it was mind-bending. He did it so well! British is easy, we all know how beautiful it is, he can't only be British. He made a good Russian too, twice I think.
@@Carly8Corday In which movie/movies did he play Russians with the accent? Because in 'Enemy At the Gates', he played a Russian, but with his lovely British accent, not the Russian one. And I'd really love to hear him do that. I only heard him do it briefly in a skit on SNL once.
I had heard about this show for a few years and just watched it on a whim. One of the best shows I've ever watched. I was so surprised. I'm not a religious person, but I didn't want it to be some soy-boy overly critical thing about "changing the church" either... and it wasn't either of those. A thoughtful show about the weight of leading a world religion while struggling with your own personal issues as well. Soooo goood. Attention to detail was fantastic too, with all the pageantry of the Vatican and the conspiring Cardinals.
When Colbert and Jude Law were talking about the Pope's shoes, Benedict XVI 's shoes were not made by Prada but he actually had a personal shoemaker who made them. I never even knew that in this current day there would be a shoemaker to the Pope!
I mean, think about it. How many mundane elderly people do you know who wear custom orthotics? As you get older your arch starts collapsing amongst other foot problems. Let, the Bishop of Rome have comfortable shoes, there plenty of much bigger extravagances.
@@nickz5849 I believe I wrote that comment in response to a now-deleted comment which said Jason Statham is the bestlooking balding guy. Statham isn't 'balding', he's already bald.

When I saw the first episode I felt such a pity for him not having this fine British accent. Almost fooled me with his American accent in the series. Well done!
Yes the vestment in the film is amazing . The red colour symbolize the blood of Christ, the gold - His glory. And the vestment that in our church is called "thelon" from Greek φαιλόνιο symbolize the mantle and sackcloth in which the Savior was dressed in earthly life, and also symbolizes the scarlet robe in which the soldiers dressed Jesus Christ during the trial of Pilate. But it have radically changed during the centuries.
2:49 Look at this man rocking a catholic Pope attire, specially designed for him, and still making it look amazing bc it’s him wearing the clothes, not the other way around.
My God @ Stephen Colbert i just watched a interview and it was so bad the reporters did no research and it was so bad then came here and it is so much better Luv this one.
The absolute absurdity of Catholicism is never mentioned. How ridiculous the religion is evident by the fun these two make of the pope by mocking with the songs.
I never really noticed Jude before but since starting watching the young pope I've fallen for him He is such a great actor in this series Not only he has me laughing how mean he can be but i love it its so good ....
Truth is that he is soooo handsome that his hair does not affect his overall looking that much. Be it anyone else, if you're bald, you will for sure look much worse. We don't have Jude Law's amazing face.
So that would be why for the movie/mini-series they just made the robes see-through. Easier on the spine. Thank you for the peek, Jude. LOL. You are the best actor around, good man. Rivaled by the entire fantastic cast of The Young Pope. (Not The New Pope. The YOUNG Pope.)
Jude Law doesn't know a thing about real Popes. The red shoes are symbolic for the blood of the martyrs. Popes are not required to wear them. Francis tends to wear black shoes, not white ones. Love his work, though, and this HBO series is excellent.
facts no one needs to know: russia never or at least not since around 1200 a.d. had any cardinals due to their orthodox catholicism. it seemed to me jude is aware of this while stephens reaction implied he isn't. @ 1:00
Jude law gives hope to guys with receding hairlines just be confident and fuck it it's just hair. His performance as an actor is what's important and he is fantastic as the Young Pope
Although a great actor, with a great show, let me jus correct a few things: The Popes are elected in average at 64; The youngest Pope was Benedict IX, who was elected somewhere between his 11 and 20 years (yeah and you think now the things are crazy); Pope Francis wears black simple shoes, not white; It is a Tiara, for God’s sake, not a mitre. There is a huge difference.
Jude's a brilliant actor. But every interview video I watch, the comment section always talks about his hair. Balding or not, he's still ridiculously good-looking and an amazing actor
A 47 year old with a receding hairline? Oh the horror... Lol
his hair has always been like that lol idk whats peoples problem
He’s doing pretty damn well for his age
I'll take his hairline and looks any day.
And he's not trying to hide it unlike many actors who get hair plugs etc.
People are that ridiculous. They must be so damn perfect...
I just finished The Young Pope like 10 minutes ago. I loved it so much. Jude really is a fantastic actor.
Chantel O'Farrell I just finished yesterday. It was awesome and revealing

TheReviewSpace So. Good.

The Matrix tho
True
Yes, they picked the right TWO guys for Gattaca. Without roles like that I don't know what keeps Ethan Hawke afloat.
the Talented Mr Ripley, such a good movie!

This is partly true. He just needs to deepen his faith. But at least he is willing to talk about his faith.
