I am a 32 year old Singaporean living in Ireland with my Irish wife. Amazing how God directs us in life to know about others and to emulate their actions so that we can help others. I was in a bookstore in Co. Waterford and chanced upon Fr Willie Doyle's SJ book. I wasn't going to buy it initially but the fiery desire in my heart led me to purchase it eventually. I never thought I would learn to know of a Man of great courage and honour to God in World War 1 and he is am perfect example of God's kindness in this world of unforgiving madness. He treated even the enemy as the same knowing that we all come from one Divine God and practiced what he was taught and preached. He saw many horrendous things during the war but kept faith in God's plan. A man I will look up to till my last breathe for his courage and kindness for the good of mankind and God. I'm glad I found this. Thank you for this movie.
Thank you for having this documentary film showed here in utube. This is one of the reasons why we have to pray for more holy Priests. I for one, always pray for Priest because for us they offered their own lives to spread the Gospel, they set their hearts and souls on fire with love for Gods people. Fr. Willie Doyle, pls for for us!!!🙏🕯
Father Willie Doyle is one of my heroes and I was so happy to see such a wonderful film about him. It's also a thrill that on the path to sainthood he is now declared to be "Servant of God Willie Doyle", step one on the road to canonization.
“As long as the desire of pleasing God remains in your heart and there is a steady constant effort towards perfection (of love, charity), you need never be uneasy about your state of soul. Everything else, small imperfections and even deliberate faults, coldness in prayer, are mere details in a life which is very pleasing to God. Do not expect to see much progress, but rest assured that the advance is certain and steady. Get more prayer into your life, if you can.” (Fr William Doyle, SJ) * Fr William Doyle, SJ: “Perseverance is what God wants. If we get up and start again after each fall, God will make saints of us in the end.” *
I can hardly imagine living in a time when a Jesuit was so strong in his Faith. Father Doyle, please intercede on behalf of the Jesuits of today.
Just finished listening to this. Remarkable.
