Amazing. This is bitter sweet for me. It makes me know now that I'll never be able to create anything as remotely cool as this. Even if I watched this video and looked at the blueprint 1000 times, it goes way over my head and here knowing that IQ will never allow me to make anything even remotely on the same level as this. Great job man, I hope the best for you.
Admittedly if you don't have a lot of experience with BP and vectors this can look really intimidating, but really, it's not as bad as it looks. If you started out with some simpler vector math in UE I'm sure you could get on to this sort of stuff with practise !
@@LewisFiford Can you recommend a specific tutorial that would be a good start that would get me on the quickest path towards understanding this specific method that you used to make the webb ropes? That would be more specific to eventually getting and understanding what you did for the ropes because there are so many tutorials out there, and I do have a good understanding of the engine overall so I don't want the ABC newbie tutorials but perhaps something intermediate? Thanks!
@@shingAMarie Sure. Dean Ashford's tutorials are really useful for getting to grips with particles and materials in UE, this one should give you a good start. ruclips.net/video/hjgnqkLeqf0/видео.html - differences between my method and this are really just in the particle noise settings - I fade mine out over time and in the material - I use a custom alpha mask, but you should be able to see that from the 'web zip' video.
Thanks ! I will focus more on the animation side of things in future videos, theres just too much to cover in one short video and im focussing on the BP systems for now
@@LewisFiford I have issues with Leg IK's, i tried many youtube tutorials but none worked. Also still didnt have much look into Additive animations and how to usem properly. So you know, if you could spare 5 minutes in your next tutorial talking about that stuff, much appreciated man ;)
Ive been trying to set up a Grapple hook system that behaves in a similar way to the webs but but with some differences, im struggling to understand how to set up the visual VFX for the rope (or in the case of this video the web) and how you set it up to project the beam with the tileable texture and define the start and ends points to get the effect youve created here. If anyone has any advice on how to do this or where i can look to find this information i would be massivly greatful.
Time to figure out how to do this in unity, or how to do a bunch of other stuff in ue4. Either way its going to be one hell of a time taking on this burden of removing Marvel's Spiderman from play station's exclusives
Bravo that was excellent. I love the web zip and launch moves in Spider-Man ps4 and in my view a much faster alternative to just swinging to n from. It's a challenge to try n web zip before you run out of buildings to web zip to and having to webswing to keep that momentum going. If i were to say one thing about your web zip technique animation it's the part where after your webzipping you land in a squat position in a way where you land and then looking still and stiff after landing, when you land there should a thing where you just landed and your body responds to the land instead of just looking still after that. Other than that, great work.
Thank you ! Yes I totally agree on that one, I ended up making a little bit of bounce using IK in the finished project but 2bh I really didnt want to make any more animations (my animation skills are very lacking) - it would look much better with a good dynamic anim though, and played more strongly for longer zip landings !
@@LewisFiford i hear that, animating is literally an art form and you gotta give it to the people that do animation who do it so well and have such patience as well as passion to put it all on screen and giving them life ☺. I notice that you did a webzip anim that spiderman does when as he zips to an edge he does a spin twirl thing before he lands, as cool as it looks it should only be performed when spiderman is at a certain distance like as in further away from the edge as having to see that animation performed at any distance where as cool looking as it is it would over time become normal and would lose its coolness. The furtherer you are away from a webzip point should be exclusively for cool af looking webzip anims and shorter distance webzips just for normal to the point zipping. There was a video i watched that talked about webzipping that i thought was cool that just reminded about those cool webzip anims i dunno if you saw it ill have to find what video it was called.
@@LewisFiford found it it was from a channel called New Frame Plus with a video called Spiderman's animation: The Web to Point. If you havn't seen it it's pretty insightful and really goes in-depth. 😁
I know this is an old project you're not supporting. But do you have any thoughts on how I can add my own mesh. It's not like other projects where I can use Autorig Pro and replace.
Thanks ! To be honest these videos are intended as more of an overview of my work than a tutorial per-se, that said I am trying to make future videos easier to follow, and I will be sharing the project files when the mini series is done so that should help too if you want to try and achieve this yourself
This is really cool! Do you have a patreon or some way to support you? I'd be really interested to get my hands on those blueprints for our My Hero Academia game.
Thanks for the kind words, really glad you like the videos so far. I don't have a Patreon just yet but I do definitely plan on making one when the channel is a bit more established, as doing projects like this full time would be a dream! For now I'll be sharing all of the projects I make for free when they're done. So I'll be posting the spider man one in a few weeks when I've cleaned it up a bit and added wall running.
Lewis Fiford you’re a true saint! I sent you an email a little while ago about potential collaboration. Even if you provide your blueprints for free at the end of each series I will certainly be sure to credit you and direct as many people to your channel as possible. You deserve a huge following for the quality of work you’re putting together. Keep it up!
@@Beyond-Studios No worries ! Happy to share, and I'd appreciate the credit and/or link to the channel too, thank you. I've just had a look at your project demo as well and it looks really cool! I'll reply to your email shortly.
I've been working with unreal engine for about 4 years but a lot of that has just been messing around in my spare time. If I started from scratch and just focused on making something like this I'd guess it would take about a year.
Thats a good suggestion, I already have an assasins creed free running video planned so I will look into the camera as well. I will be doing some tutorials soon too
Probably not 2bh, it was only ever intended as a coding demo for Ue4 developers and probably not the best choice for a proper release for copyright reasons
Hi. The Original model I used has been removed due to copyright :/ but I share the second model I use in this video in the description here ruclips.net/video/3SFu3uoFQIM/видео.html
Can you make this in android please please cause i seen a lot of fangame like that on android but is nowhere to download please make na android for this game
