42:05 Fun fact, that's actually the director of the movie. They hired a professional cook to do the omurice but he didn't like the outcome, so he did it himself.
I 1st watched it when I was a UCLA student and it was showed in an art house theater on Wilshire Street in Los Angeles in 1987. I didn't understand and appreciate some of its humor until much later. Today it remains my top 5 favorites, especially the old ramen sensei and the gangster & moll scenes. Enjoy this gem, folks.
I love it! Being American, it is different from the rest of films I have seen from Japan, but in a good way. Have looked at going there and have watched numerous videos of food, etiquettes, and dining traditions. It cracks me up with the humor, but still gives an insight into the art of cooking over there. A very entertaining view of Japan. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely fantastic movie. The language barrier was not enough to discourage the viewer. Most handsome men in lead roles. Wonderful learning experience to watch such a great show . Thank you so much for sharing it with the world. Sincerely all the best from Vancouver BC Canada
Heads up: After 27:31, this upload cuts out a very sexual scene between 2 characters from the prologue. It's just filler, but I thought you should know.
