I've been on the bridge in Vietnam. It was raining, and the glass was very slippery. One of my friends just ran on and fell and slipped and went sliding down. She was screaming the entire time. My other friends just stood watching us like we were insane. I went to go help the friend who was slipping, as I was pulling her up, she accidentally pulled me down, and we both fell and slid. My other friends just watched us the entire time. We eventually walked ( or slid ) to the other side. To this day, our friends laugh at us for slipping, and we laugh at them for chickening out. They got braincells, *we got guts* 😀

The fact that there's even an option to pay an official to drive your car over the Mackinac is enough to tell me that it must be pretty damn terrifying to cross.

I used to be scared of a bridge called 'Honeymoon Bridge' located in Katoomba, NSW.
It's a small bridge linking the plateau lookout to the Three Sisters rock formation.
I used to be scared because as a kid, it looks miles off the ground, but it's really only a few metres off the ground, the CLIFFS nearby are some 100-200 metres high.
I was on the Hussaini suspension bridge around 2 years ago. As Be Amazed said, it was terrifying however I was crossing it when near the middle, the wind grew violently. It was swinging back and forth and I was the only one on it. My family could only watch in horror as I screamed in terror while the bridge turned from side to side. By some miracle, I managed to stay on and safely returned. Although I am still the type to do something like that, I won't be coming back that quick. You should always be careful while doing this kind of stuff.
The worst part of crossing a rope bridge is with a group of people who are in step, these bridges start to bounce at a resonant frequency and you find yourself bouncing alarmingly up and down making find your footing even more difficult.
Oh and having a herd of Yaks coming the other way doesn't help.
I have lived in Michigan all my life (69 years) and have driven over the Mackinac Bridge many times. As soon as I got my driver's license, my family drove to the bridge and my father MADE me drive over it so I wouldn't be afraid of it. I have only felt nervous one time when it was very windy.
I've been over it a couple times myself. Honestly isn't that scary. Need to head up there again sometime.

I have only done the Mackinac Labor Day Bridge walk twice. The first was the day before I started my first day of teaching and I was miserable for days with my sore muscles!! @@ltmundy1164
I have a huge fear of bridges. I can't walk across any bridge without having a panic attack. One time, while visiting Boston Massachusetts I was walking down Massachusetts Ave and came to the part where it crosses the Charles River. I didn't realize that it was crossing the river and I got about 20-25 ft down the Ave when I realized where I was and I froze. I had a full-blown panic attack and my friends had to help me back to where it started. That told you wouldn't catch me on any of those footbridges and I wouldn't be able to be the driver over any of the other bridges. And even as a passenger, I would have to keep my eyes closed.

I never feared my states bridge of crossing, I was like " How could I be scared of this?" My mom didn't like how it was made. Boy I bet the devil told her in 2014. Lucky for you some christian challenge courses are being shut down, but don't ask me my regrettfull bridge daring the Terror Wood bridge. WHY would someone make such a thing that frightening? It is now 10 years from now will sooner be destroyed. I doubt they'll make a bridge so foot chomping like that again. If you never have crossed Fearless Mackinac Island Bridge, then Be Amazed is fibbing with the name. Why was my borther scared 36% out of his skull from that bridge? I would not chicken out my hooded state bridge. NEVER!!====((((.
I have a fear of water--not of bridges. Of all the amazing rides taken, those over some magnificent bridges stand out in my mind. The Tacoma Narrows, Golden Gate, Brooklyn Bridge, San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, and a variety of impressive truss bridges are high on my list, such as the Poplar Street Bridge (I-70/I-55) St. Louis, Eads Bridge, Huey P. Long Bridge at New Orleans, the highest U. S. suspension bridge over the Arkansas River (Royal Gorge) in Colorado, Tappen Van Zee Bridge, Bronx-Whitestone, George Washington Bridge, the Snake River Gorge Bridge in Idaho and a few epic others come to mind. Now, if I had been on "Galloping Gertie" on November 8th of 1940--YES! I would have been A-F-R-A-I-D of THAT bridge!

The Mackinac Bridge has a Labor Day walk every year. Thousands walk the 5 miles. I've done it about 3 times. It's great. Highly recommend it.
I've driven over the Mackinac bridge several times and never thought of it as scary. Great views of the area, too!
I've been on the bridge in Ghana when my family took a trip there in 2015, absolutely terrifying 😫! I was only able to cross the first part of the bridge, but chickened out from going on the rest so I had to cross the exit side and it was ricketer then the first one😅. My family still laughs at me because the finished the course and I didn't but I'd rather live thank you 😌

Jiaozhou Bay Bridge is similar to Penang Bridge which is basically a bridge that connects Peninsular Malaya to Penang Island. I honestly got scared that crap out of me when I first time crossing it
Of all the bridges that I've been on, the scariest one for me is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. By watching this video, I would rather be on the Chesapeake Bridge -Tunnel. I would never get on any of those bridges. Thank you for this very interesting video of these bridges.
When I was a kid, we had a local railroad trussell that was 298 feet off the ground below- and it was no longer in use. That section of tracks hadn't been used in decades- but the trussell still stood. We started out by just walking out on it- but eventually that wasn't enough. We started climbing from the creek bed below, up the huge iron legs, to the underside of the trussell. t was just like climbing up a really long ladder basically- but at the very top you had to jump up and grab a bar about 3 inches out of reach and pull yourself up- while 290 feet off the ground. It was a really easy jump to make but- if you missed for any reason- you fell 290 feet, which made it nerve racking as hell. Once you got on up though- now there are planks that stretch under the tracks from one leg to the next- and you had to walk them. You could hang on to the bracing and stuff around you- but you were walking on a 2x6 plank that was really old. They treated them with the same stuff they treated the cross ties with though- so they were very slow to rot, and no bugs would eat at them. You had to walk out to the middle of the trussell where some cross ties were missing, and you could climb on up on the top of the trussell there. We did that several times with no problems- then, many years later- some kid tried to ride a 4 wheeler across it and fell off. So, the city sold the steel as scrap and some company came out and tore it all down. It's' miracle we never got killed doing stupid stuff like this.
I grew up in Queens, NY (considered NY City and is located on Long Island) and the only way off "The Island" was by ferry boat (not practical) or through a long, winding, narrow, *leaking* choice of tunnels that run *under* the Hudson River, or via one of the many bridges.
Crossing bridges never frightened me...until the bridge in Peru 😱
I don't mind enclosed heights (flying or skytrains, etc) but I have a paralyzing fear of OPEN heights. That first bridge, had I somehow over-ridden my instinct telling myself it's sturdy and people walk it daily, had it done that fake cracking on me it would have utterly frozen me with terror. I would probably just have a heart attack and keel over. If I lived and people rescued me with dragging me off with a rope (only way I would have moved again) I would have straight up murdered the people who tricked me into going on it. GAWD that's the most cruel thing I can imagine. (shudder)
I agree I would have grabbed hold to something till they came to get me, I don't do heights at all not even airplanes my luck is not good enough too.
Absolutely terrified with heights my man! My wife wanted to do the sky walk at the Grand Canyon and I said No!! Don’t know how people who work at those heights can do it. I give them all the credit in the world.

I've seen bridges 6-700ft above sea-level or the Grand Canyon etc; how many lives were probably lost during the construction?
The Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge is only scary if it is windy and they close it when it is, so it is actually quite safe and easy to cross NOW that they rebuilt it (some time ago) with steel cables and such. I have been there several times but I only managed to cross twice. The worse part for me are the hundreds of steps leading down to it and then back up. THAT part is hard :) The views on the tiny island are amazing and there is a fisherman's cabin there that you could rent out for the night. I think it is closed now.

I don't know why there's so much confusion about how the Ruyi Bridge was built. It's 2 bridges (maybe 3 depending on how you want to look at it). There's the main truss bridge arch and then the underslung split suspension bridge. Most likely built in that order with the walkways and such being finishing work after the supports were in place. It's a beautiful piece of engineering that (if I could afford it) would maybe, just maybe, try crossing exactly once. I also have a bit of a vertigo issue. One that causes me to have issues while playing video games and jumping my character down long distances. But, because I am aware of the issue and I am just stubborn like that, I don't let it stop me from doing things. I might piss myself, but I would at least walk up to the bridge and then see how I felt.
That Hussaini bridge though... That makes me want to start a GoFundMe page to give those people the money to build a real bridge. It looks like they just got some rope and used what was left of the old bridge to build the new one. Just, no.

I personally would enjoy going over almost all of those bridges other than maybe the one or 2 that I'm pretty sure won't hold my weight. I'm a heavy guy and and would probably fall through a couple of them. I personally would love those glass bottom bridges though. I'm also the kinda that has skydiving or paragliding on his bucket list as well. It's not so much about an adrenaline rush for me, just the sensation of flying and free fall would be my thing. I would feel like I'm free as a bird.

I once was on a rope bridge in Panama that was pretty rickety, not only this but semi-trucks were driving over it. Also, there were alligators in the river below!
There is one bridge in the USA that, to this day, scares me to death! The Astoria Bridge that spans the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington State near the coastline. It's built high enough so large container ships can go under it without problems. It gets quite windy up there. Also, when I was younger and had just gotten my first car, I had to drive along the Harbor Freeway in the Los Angeles area to get to San Pedro which involved driving over the Vincente Bridge. Back in the day, the road surface of the bridge was thick grated panels that you could look down and see the ocean. Now it is fully paved. But that bridge used to scare the beejuss out me. 😮

You should have mentioned on the Mackinac Bridge, the open grating lanes. Freaky if you are on a motorcycle. Even worse if you're on a motorcycle at night during a huge storm. Been there, done that! Held my breath the entire trip across!
You have latched on to my nemesis. Bridges. Ever since I was a child a bridge, just the mention of going over sent terror creep into my thoughts. Someone please tell me if there is a word for this type of fear. Anyway, my mother told me that upon moving to Florida it would cure me of this fear because there are so many bridges there . Although I did relinquish some fear I retained a place in my heart for bridges like the Skyway Bridge which connects St Petersburg with Sarasota or the long bridge getting you into Key West. So your video left me feeling "No Way, not in a million years".

In Chamonix in France, there is also this strange stairway built on the side of Aiguille du Midi. From where you exit the cable cart, you can if you want, walk to the top through this little stairway which is built into the side of the cliffs which are at around 3 600m above sea level. They go to the summit which is at 3 842m.
I've been there, and I did take this little skywalk to the summit, it was not pleasant as the air up there was so thin, and icy winds hit me at the same time. It was quite the experience, but damn was it scary! xD

I love the glass bridge with special effects the only thing I would say is that if your going to build somthing amazing like that at least make it so there's no way of someone actually panicking and throwing themselves off the side if it had tall glass walls so there's no way anyone can fall / jump off in panic it would be perfect

My mum is terrified of heights and I've always been obsessed with climbing things. We've gone to the CN Tower in Toronto a number of times and when we would get to the glass floor section I would run over and jump up and down on the panels while mum stood there screaming. She was always convinced it would suddenly shatter. Now as an adult I climb the undersides of bridges and she can't even look at the photos I take. 😂

I have a fear of heights. I choose to try to conquer my fear by becoming a Paratrooper in the Army. Yes, it was terrifying, but I trusted my equipment. You show many bridges that you couldn't pay me enough to walk onto. Not because of my fear, but because I don't trust the engineering, and construction skills of the humans making them.

The Mackinaw Bridge can be scary to cross at times! I’ve lived in Michigan my entire life and crossed it countless times! However, on a calm night when it’s all lit up it is very beautiful and well worth the drive across!

2:38 and 24:29 reminds me of when I went to a high rope course. My fear of heights is different every day. Sometimes I can stand on a skywalk with hardly any problems, sometimes I can't even go for a ride on a ferris wheel. Anyways... the course was not that high off the ground but there was one platform where they had a wooden plank like that and you had to do a step onto that plank and it would then move and transport you to the other side. I was frozen for a few minutes afraid to take that step. I did it in the end but only because going back the course would've been more emberassing. 😂

First let me say , great job on the video. I am not afraid of heights. I am TERRIFIED.. ! There's NO amt of money someone could offer me to go on a glass bridge. I got physically ill just watching this but forced myself ( after many breaks) to get thru it. A silly form of self imposed therapy. I wonder if people that do not suffer the terror as I do, at least feel anxiety when crossing? Do you actually really look down? My heart is still pounding.
Oh please. I drove a 27 ft travel trailer across the Mackinaw Bridge during a windstorm and wasn't afraid of the bridge at all. It's the least scary of the bridges here today. I've driven across the remnants of Galloping Gertie as well. Did you know the suspension towers for that are still in place and have a bridge span today? They're part of the eastbound lanes of Washington state highway 16. They're one-way today but when I first learned to pull my travel trailer, it was still designated for two-way traffic. It's kind of narrow so that made things interesting. LOL Today, all four lanes go one way so it's much easier now except for the wind.
The bridge that scares me at present is the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I WILL overcome my fear, though, and walk across it eventually. I tried once but couldn't but I will do it the next time I'm there. I believe in facing one's fears unless one's fears include snakes. That's a no go for me. LOL Still, I'll make myself walk that bridge and back next time I'm there.

As a Ghanaian i can assure you that the Kakum canopy walkway is super safe.I even went there just a couple of months ago on an excursion.

The glass bridge is honestly really cool and I wish that I could’ve visited it in the future. I think the effects are hilarious, but it is one of those things that people shouldn’t have been using it to prank others. Ruined the fun
I can get on a roller coaster no problem, but when it comes to death defying heights my acrophobia kicks in. Thankfully, my vertigo doesn’t, because I couldn’t imagine being at a great height with everything around me looking as if it’s spinning too!! I usually only get vertigo after being on a boat or a plane. However despite my fear of heights, I’ve attempted to conquer it by walking across the Golden Gate Bridge and I’ve driven across many huge (they’re huge to me even if nobody else agrees) bridges in the states and as I do so I have to remember to breath and I get heart palpitations just as I did whilst watching this video which sounds ridiculous, but the fear is real. The highest bridge I’ve driven across to date was in Savannah, Georgia the Talmadge Memorial Bridge at a height of 185’ which may not seem that high in comparison, but driving up it looked like I was driving up to the sky with no view of the other side and I held onto the steering wheel for dear life. I was glad to be crossing it in daylight. 😅😅Just like the presenter, I could never go across any of the bridges shown here, especially the one in Russia🙈

The Big Mac has another scary thing. Every Labor Day from 6 AM to noon the bridge is closed and everyone who wishes can walk across the bridge. That is truly scary. I have driven across several times. I live pretty close to it. I’ve never felt any swaying, but maybe I just wasn’t on it when it was really windy. There is a history that a couple of really small cars were blown off the bridge and the people died. They were really tiny cars. One was a Yugo so I guess it wouldn’t be a good idea to drive a little tiny Smart car across the bridge when it’s windy so that was the reason for closing it down when super windy.

I used to live in Qingdao and I frequently travelled the bridge. It’s way less scary than you think.
I'm not afraid of heights at all. Absolutely love glass elevators. But, I like living, so I think I'll pass on some of those bridges.
There is a worse bridge in North Yorkshire, England. It is a wooden bridge over the River Greta near Ingleton. It is formed of three planks. One for you to step on, only wide enough to put one foot in front of the other, and two planks higher up to rest your arms on. The wood is also as slippery as an eel, and it is hundreds of feet over the water.
I would perhaps be crazy enough to try those foot bridges, but no glass please. I'd say Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Llangollen Wales, UK is worth a mention. To quote "Its nineteen cast-iron spans carry the waterway 126 feet / 38.4 metres above the river, and for two centuries it remained the tallest navigable aqueduct in the world". Quite exciting to cross I will say.

As a little kid about 3-5 yo I had to cross a small rail bridge with flood waters rushing underneath and big gaps to jump to the next cross plank. half way across a train was coming across the bridge behind us. we just crossed in time. i never forgot this .

I crossed a rope bridge in the Serengeti which was not that high up, but it was scary just the same because of the crocodiles in the stream below, If you slipped off, the crocs would get you. The guides carried our bags and packs across.

I have been to the titlis bridge before with 5 friends and it isnt scary AT ALL, its insanely fun to walk through but when I crossed the bridge, nothing special was there. When we were going back from the bridge, it rocked even more which made it even more fun, MOST UNFORGETTABLE EXPEREINCE OF MY LIFE :>

I live in Michigan, have gone over the bridge several times. But the most unfortunate time was towing a 8 place snowmobile trailer with 6 utility atv's . Going across the Iron see through grating lane. It makes you wiggle side to side as you cross.! Kinda unnerving.

Base jumpers would love these sky scraper bridges. I have an allergy to heights, no way would I walk or drive across any of these bridges.
