Ariel Rider Grizzly with dual battery/dual motor that does ~36mph and goes ~36 miles on full throttle and both motors. Crazy e-bike and I love it. If police pull you over, just switch it to front motor only and it's magically a bicycle again

They put a TV on the box so the delivery drivers handle it more gently.
That's next level thinking...
The bike's good too,

I think we all laughed together when you took off. Great!
Never had an e-bike ... can't afford one. But, if I ever could, I'm pretty sure I would be ordering one of these bikes.
I've seen a few reviews, but this [review in the above video] is the one that has sold me on it.
Thanks for sharing, and thank you "ArielRider" for sending him one to test etc.
Out of all the reviews this is the best one on the grizzly by far thank you for the information
Love your enthusiasm , great review, cracks me up when you ride by hunched over to get a little more speed from your ride . That would hands down be the e-bike I would buy .

Thanks for this review! As a DIY ebiker with 2 home made packs (both 52v with BMS's), I think I may have had a similar episode where one of my packs suddenly stopped giving power (but had small residual power to keep LED on. I think it came when I also disconnected both, one or the other battery on. I think when I turned on one battery that had a slightly higher charged voltage (57volts) than the second pack I turned on (55 volts) in parallel with the first, that sequence seems to have caused the second pack to shut down. I disconnected the 2nd pack for about an hour and it came back on by itself. I don't know for sure, but I think when the 2nd pack 55v charge got parallel connected with a pack with higher 57v charge, may have caused a backward voltage pressure in the second pack causing its BMS to shut off the pack (maybe the BMS "thought" that since its voltage pressure momentarily dropped, the BMS "thought the battery was "dead" and thus shut it down??? Nowadays, I check the voltages of both packs BEFORE I connect them both and choose the pack with lower voltage to connect first, then parallel connect (in your case just turn of the battery) the other pack with slightly higher voltage. This seems to solves what you (and I) went through (one pack simply goes dead shortly after you turn it on.) I guess, if that doesn't work, try the reverse sequence, or simply try your best to charge both packs to exactly the same voltage before using them together??? I dunno - maybe contact Ariel if they have any ideas?
A lot of great e bikes ,I really like the Ariel bikes very much 😀 👍

Hey Raymond Wong, I was wondering if you NEED assistance pedaling, because if you in fact dont, then you shouldnt be on one. Along with putting trump in the White House, these are a stupid effing idea, at least for people who dont need pedal assistance. Lazy people are the biggest consumers of ebikes. Now all the lazy pukes wanna push an agenda to be able to ride on trails, effing idiots. If that happens, those who actually put the work in to ride should push an agenda to shoot any individual on an ebike. Lets face it, those who need pedal assistance wont head to the trails because theyre actually smart enough to know they dont belong on trails to begin with.
In this video, do you see him pedaling?
This review is why I went with Ariel Rider. I got the D Class and added an extra 52v 13ah. Thanks for the awesome videos and reviews.
I just got mine too right before you. I love it. Unlocked mine goes 35mph on a fresh charge. Speed isn't my goal. Power in the dirt is where it shines. Take it in the hills and you will see it really shines even I it only hits 32mph. Most ebikes suck in the dirt and hills. The grizzly is like a mountain goat. Great video!
How comes when he unlocked it said 50mph?
@@4ndy123 higher the voltage of the battery the faster it goes the more amp hours (AH) is more range most controllers top out at 62 volts a 48 volt controller can handle 62 volts this is a 52 volt bike so if you where to upgrade the battery to 62 volt battery it would go faster then 35mph..... if the controller can handle it most can't unless they say specifically there are 72 volt batteries..
@@4ndy123 That was the Limiter setting.. limiting Top Speed. It appears the factory setting was 20mph.
I have a grizzly too. THis e-bike is amazing and I can't imagine how fast V2 will be. I will give my grizzly to my brother and keep the new one for myself.
@@AdrianSanchez-ed3hb from what I have seen in other reviews it won't go significantly faster. Maybe a few MPH more but not like 45 or 50mph. Most likely it will have more torque and improved hill climbing ability....which I honestly prefer over top speed. 35mph on a bicycle is crazy fast on a sidewalk with other people with kids stepping out in front of you. 35mph is crazy fast on a dirt trail with branches that can stab you in the chest and rocks that your head can smash into. Im ok with 35mph on version 1 😆. Power for hills is what I want!!!

@@modelhaus1199 Oddly enough, I'm watching this on a screen. XD
The advantage to dual motors is in sand and snow and off road riding.
That just makes the trails to easy and less fun.
It's basically an electric minibike. I used to have one as a kid. It had a briggs and stratton motor. Tecumseh was another popular motor. Also used in go karts back in the 80's. They were close to the size of lawnmower engines. Usually 7 to 9 horsepower. Brings back memories.
I really want one of these though. All the power and speed of a minibike without the noise of a gas motor. Sweet!
I simply love your channel. This video was great as it was well recorded nd I wanted to see a real world review on the Ariel Rider.

Having all that torque available instantly must be so so much fun on trails.
I want one but a drunk driver rammed me and my bike through a granite wall & put me in a wheelchair.

Wow this looks awesome. I kinda want to get something like this to rig up a small trailer to and have an awesome rig to get deep into public land for hunting or into the backwoods.
Just bought one. Great fun
That bike looks so cool and it's fast to boot. I'm sold. I want this baby now.
Considering the price of high end bicycles these days, this thing is actually pretty inexpensive! I like the fact that when you deplete one battery, you can flip a couple switches and have enough range to get back from wherever you happen to be (without even pedaling). The suspension looks pretty impressive by any standards.😉👍
It should be a crime to charge this for a frame with tires and two Chinese $80 hub motors, 2 $300 batteries and a Chinese controller. Literally 400% markup.. wow how easily people can be taken
Cuz it's probably made like crap compared to a high-end bicycle. Chinese metal and plastic as opposed to titanium and carbon fiber. Get real Dan.
Made in the USA? It would have cost $10,000! Great bargain of an ebike indeed! Pay itself within 1 year from not having to pay gas and insurance!

Buy three really high quality locks. I suggest Abus for their security but the weight and cost are prohibitive to most people. An Abus Granite and a Krypto NY Fahgetabout it chain/pad will make your bike hard to steal if you learn to lock up properly. Dont forget its not just you looking for these. This shit will get banned soon enough from all trails when we start getting everyone flying past walkers. It's just gonna be that one time someone flies past an individual on a city council.
Yes, or knocks some poor bastard into the next world. Come on, people, what are you thinking. At 30 mph + you belong in the road. Why can’t they just make a street legal electric motorcycle. Add lights, ditch the pedals, wear a helmet. Everyone will be happier.
It's already started, I've seen the bans in my fbook groups. These kinda bikes mixed with irresponsible riders are blanket punishing the entire ebike community.

$2999.00 right now. Went on the Arial Rider website to check it out further. Would be back ordered of course. Am thinking very strongly about this bike! ALL the reviews were VERY positive. Will have to sell my 2010 Honda 150. Love my scooter, but this will do what the 150 will do and it won’t need to be filled with gas. Won’t be as fast, but you have to make trade offs on things every day! Thanks man! Roger in Pierre South Dakota
Only issue is that the battery will soon deplete as batteries lose their maximum charge over time. Hopefully that will be replaceable. But other than that, you can go pretty far with this granted the battery supports it
Other then having this--you would have to break some other law like speeding or reckless driving to be pulled over by police. No way they are pulling normal behaving folks over and pulling out voltemeters and such to test these--all to even issue a civil penalty. I hope folks respect this and ride cool while in public.I am putting dual motors on mine for trail riding and torque and the last thing any of us wants is the police and govt limiting these or making them like motorcycles.

Someone else did a test of an Ariel Grizzly going up a hill. With one only one motor, it barely made it up a long steep hill in Atlanta, With two motors it was going 21mph at the top of the hill. Considering 746 watts equals 1 hp, with two motors you have about 2.7hp continuous total. If you go for "peak torque" which they say equals almost 3000 watts (total) then you are at about 4.0hp. I think you need 5 hp to get a license plate(and pay insurance, registration, etc). So the ebike is about the best you can do without the license plate , registration, etc.. Good enough for most commutes.

Ok, you did find gloves and a helmet.
@Mike Zielinski
I started wearing helmets every time after I got catapulted from my 90cc by a car circa 1965. At that time It, it was personal choice. It was not until 1992 that Cal and a handful of other states first required helmets.
1:55 right here... I was pulled over once... early 90s maybe 89... my friends and I are are side by side riding no handed down the prairie path in the Chicago western burbs. We see the cop on the side street moving slow and we actually pass him. We come to an intersection with a street and we blow right through... it is close to home and is one of the non busy town side streets... no big deal. So the cop speeds up and we see him pass us. I say to my friends, "watch him pull us over for blowing a stop sign."
That is when we see the squad car come up an access path and block half the path. Sure enough he gave us a talking to about blowing the stop sign. I think he took issue with us doing it no handed... most people didn't follow the stop signs on non busy streets.
