It's always funny looking at opinions and reviews on pads since they can conflict so much. As you said the car and driving style plays a big factor, and I think a lot of people just need to try stuff out themselves

Thanks very much for the honest review and useful feedback. I am from South Africa and I have a 2018 Ford Fiesta ST (Revo RT330 kit) and have been following your channel for a long time.
I pretty much have had the same experiences as you with the Ferodo DS2500 and the Ford OEM discs/pads.
I have tried other discs as well, but have not found something that can work for me on track. My experience with the brakes on the track was so bad that I actually have not been doing track days with the Fiesta for a while.
Anyway, I will try the EBC RP-X with the EBC discs and see how that works.
PS. I also liked your video yesterday with the camera that also showed the other Fiesta. It was quite exciting.

I've got these pads on a recommendation for my subaru. Only for road use. I have no problem with their performance, but they are very dirty. Very much ruining my newly refurbished gold wheels! For road use I will go back to Ferodo DS2500 which work for me.

Torque vectoring is fords version of the "electronic diff" . And you are correct its cannot be turned off. The esc can be watered down by pressing the button on the dash. A press for a few seconds does switch the esc off but the vectoring will still be working

Good review and good to hear!
EBC were kind enough to send me a full set of Bluestuff and a set of RP1 to try on the Porsche. EBC on a Porsche, more chance of Corbyn being worth a vote... ;)
Anyway, I have ran the blues and all good, but I reckon they'll not last on track, not with sticky tyres so I'll stick the RP1s on front, but keep the rear blue.
I have never had a problem with EBC (I have ran Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, HH, GPFAX) and have been using them for nigh on 2 decades. They do have a poor image with their colour 'rating' as people seem to think it's a bit chavvy. Personally, I think it makes choosing a pad a bit easier for the layman (99.99% of car enthusiasts I speak to don't understand thermodynamics, mu, transduction and all the other good brake terminology so something more straightforward is a good thing). As such if you tell people you run EBC, they'll mock you. Let them, they're idiots.
So i'll do a video when I get them on track and I'll drop this one a mention :)

So this summer I ran RP-X pads on my 2018 Civic FK8 at the front with Girodisc rotors and Endless pads in the back. After 3.5 track days and some daily driving they were down to the metal. On the track they performed really really well for me. Very nuanced and great pedal response. They lasted about the same as the PMu 999 pads I had on at the start of the season - which were done after 4 intense track days as well but still had a bit left. If you can get a deal on the RP-X then I would say go for them. I have never met anyone that runs these here in Canada and the prices I've seen are about the same as PMus and other brands. They have to be imported which adds cost and delays as well so I'd love to see the pricing be more competitive. I don't get the EBC bashing I've seen elsewhere. Based on my experience of these pads - the RP-X pads are solid but just not all that available here.

I don't see why people dislike ebc. Probably expect too much from them. I have ebc yellowstuff pads and ebc grooved front discs. A bit noisy when cold because of the aggressive groove in the disk, but when warmed up they are perfectly fine for fast road. Definitely not a suitable pad for track but it's the sweet spot for fast road. Managed to fade them once but was driving ridiculous for it to happen braking hard from very high speeds multiple times.

These pads were recommended to me by a friend, I decided to do a little research and came across your video. Great video, I've decided to give them a try for myself, I'll be putting them on my 370Z Nismo before I go to the ring next week. I previously ran the OE pads which came with the car and I'm currently on StopTech Sport which is an excellent upgrade over OE but these track-only pads are cheaper which is mainly why I'm giving these a try. I've just fitted EBC yellowstuff pads to the front of my Nissan 180sx with standard discs. I've seen all the bad reviews about disc wear, dust, and pads crumbling, but I still want to see for myself. The Yellowstuff replaced my old Redstuff which endured 2 full track days, 2 half track days and 1 year of daily driving, even though they're marketed for road only. I would have got the new RP-X based on your experience but they don't make them for my caliper!

It's funny how after many years the advice often punted is to go for bigger disk caliper package but after advice from a Racer who uses car with same brakes was stick to standard disks and use Mintex F2R Pads which I assume are similar package on yours. On track they are awesome but day to day a pain with dust and noise but if I can get the BOGOF offer on my car then it's a no brainer. Cheers 👍

I have a Lancer Evolution X and I walk to work cause I live next to work so it’s a weekend car and evening car but I drive it hard. I don’t know what brake pads are on it now but I’ve had them fade and get very soft after very short hard driving. I drive fairly hard. I’m married and my wife drives it sometimes. So my question is can I run the RP-X pads on the street. I know they screech and are dusty but are they that terrible for street driving? I have hawk hp plus I was going to install but I found out EBC blue stuff is better than the hawk pads. I’m trying to find information on racing pads. I’ve never used them.

This is the info I've been after. I run Yellowstuff on Ford rotors and generally I've been pleased, but I'm going to have to replace this year... They've been way better than the Motorcraft shit the dealer tried to fob me off with ages ago which were scarily bad.
Not tracked the Yellows but I do drive VERY enthusiastically when on my own. I know this is your track car, but how did you find the RP-X doing stuff like supermarket commutes or drives around town? Are they a bit meh until they're trackday hot, or are they still able to stop well from cold?
