Some other hot keys: ctrl + LMB : open window of that object pinned, which won't automatically close the window when you click outside the window. ctrl + bulldozer on a building : demolish that building without confirmation window popping up. To delete a custom hot key that's set, you need to expand the hot key bar once more, and you will see the "remove hot key" option. Another thing that's not mentioned : If you click on a house under construction, scroll down, you'll see check box "auto purchase/relocate citizen" and "allow citizen to move in". If you're running realistic mode or building a town via construction office, you want that box uncheck, so that citizen will not be there when infrastructures are not ready yet. You only need to set it once, and new building you place further on will have the box unchecked. And for those who want to know, CHE will activate cheese mode in menu. Join JD's membership will promote you to higher ranked party member, and you'll be relegated to the lowest ranked party member if you dislike the video.
This is definitely for me. I played the game a whole hour before deciding it sucked ass and it didn’t explain enough. This could, cooouuuld (JD could) be inspiration to pick it up again.
Can confirm! Also, burying things gets more expensive with depth, so keeping things near the surface keeps them cheaper. You might consider going up then down a hill, just below the surface, rather than straight through it.
I realy likes this games logic: 1. built; 2. go bankrupt; 3. think where u went wrong. This games default setting is hard for new players and I just learnt it about 1000 hours 😅
I don't think I got the distance thing, I'm new to the game. So the cultural needs for example don't have to be in walking distance from all residential buildings if the bus stop is in walking distance from residential and the mentioned needs? like is the bus kind of checkpoint from where the citizens can proceed further?
That's the way I understand it as well, as far the video. As long as residents can reach the bus stop, and as long as workplaces, education and other needs are within walking range of the bus stop, then all needs of citizens are met. How long they wait at the bus stop, I don't know, as in my many starts (I've never finished building a republic), I didn't realise this could be done. I think JD needs to do a tutorial on bus stops.
@@breytac The thing is, when people reach the bus stop they search again 400 meters around *that* location to find something to do. A way to cheese the game is to chain together bus stops every 400 meters or so and people can walk arbitrarily far. lol
I only just started watching your tutorial series and I'm pretty familiar with w&R SV, but why start with hard on money? even after all this time, I personally still haven't graduated to realistic mode. It seems like a lot of youtubers are obsessed with realistic mode. Why not play without it? Or why not play WITHOUT realistic mode, but pretend you are? Then you can do a tutorial without worrying about money too much.

Love that last paragraph!
This is the best guide for this game that I've found

Same here
Its a great game, and does little to NO hand holding!
I spent 4 hours building 4 residential buildings. It is unforgiving in realistic mode. I love it
@@DadOM8999 You need to go all--in with the construction office in realistic mode, everything feels like an acomplishment :)
@@DadOM8999 Absolutely LOVE realistic mode. Once you go realistic you never go back.
Thanks JD. Great stuff, as usual
i think that the obove ground heating pipes lose a lot of heat while the underground ones lose very little. i could be wrong though
Can confirm!

Great intro back to the game, and info was shared nicely. So much changed since last time I have played. Thank you, you can keep my like :D
Maybe the video was long as hell, but it was really helpful, thanks.
Very helpful. Thanks JD.
Very in depth, thank you
great video!

ive provided yous with the like since you asked so nicely
If we'rre playing in realistic mode, woudln't it be morre realistic for there to already be towns in the Republic?
Already having towns is a option, I prefer to start with a blank patch of land, but thats upto you
I guess I missed where it was said how he is clicking a placed building to "copy" it for additional building.
