    Build a Soviet superpower across three new biomes: the scorching desert, the unforgiving tundra, and the lush tropics, each with its own challenges and opportunities. The spirit of socialism knows no bounds!
    Establish a glorious nation from the ground up on unpopulated maps, or explore populated maps that feature existing small towns with architecture fitting their respective biomes, begging to be united by a visionary leader.
    Contend with limited access to trees in the desert and the resulting demand for localized logging around the minimally available wet soil. Prepare for the logistical challenges of long distance hauling, whether from distant oases or foreign trade.
    Brace for longer, harsher winters in the tundras by investing more heavily in the appropriate sectors - a shorter farming season strains your agricultural sector as heating services struggle in the frigid climate.
    Brave the monsoons of the tropics, where road conditions will suffer under the immense pressure of precipitation. Traffic and transportation will be slow-going, and as a result you must plan around the reduced flow of industry and commerce alike.
    Challenge yourself with unique biomes that allow you to explore new opportunities and experience new struggles as you build a powerful republic in some of the harshest environments on Earth.
    Manage all aspects of your republic in this soviet-themed city builder game. A planned economy puts you in control of everything from mining resources to manufacturing goods and providing services - use this power to make decisions that impact your citizens’ day-to-day lives and their ultimate loyalty to the nation. Whether it’s construction, transportation, trade, healthcare, education, entertainment, tourism, or any of the countless other facets of a full-fledged city, it’s up to you to determine availability, accessibility, and quality. Contend with a deep simulation of global supply chains as you seek fertile soils, ore veins, and viable lands upon which to build your nation - let the radio stations sing your praises and the citizens rejoice in their glorious soviet republic.
    Multiple complex simulations work together to bring your cities to life in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic - whether it’s the price of goods in the global market, the proper distribution of electricity and water, or the increased supply of heat during the winter months, everything can be manipulated with the right actions. Adjust your game settings based on your appetite for complexity in particular areas - civil engineers, urban planners, economists, and simulation enthusiasts will all be able to experience the mechanics they love.
    Run your nation with both rubles and dollars as you strike a balance between eastern and western markets, trading with nations from either side of the Iron Curtain to gain access to valuable currency, resources, and technology. Despite following a soviet-styled planned economy, you are a fledgling non-aligned nation - this sets you free to engage in trade with both the Western Bloc and the Soviet Bloc to your benefit. Loyalty to one side is always an option, but flooding one market with your goods might result in diminishing returns, and shunning the other side might see you cut off from useful technological advances.

    Some other hot keys:
    ctrl + LMB : open window of that object pinned, which won't automatically close the window when you click outside the window.
    ctrl + bulldozer on a building : demolish that building without confirmation window popping up.
    To delete a custom hot key that's set, you need to expand the hot key bar once more, and you will see the "remove hot key" option.
    Another thing that's not mentioned : If you click on a house under construction, scroll down, you'll see check box "auto purchase/relocate citizen" and "allow citizen to move in". If you're running realistic mode or building a town via construction office, you want that box uncheck, so that citizen will not be there when infrastructures are not ready yet. You only need to set it once, and new building you place further on will have the box unchecked.
    And for those who want to know, CHE will activate cheese mode in menu. Join JD's membership will promote you to higher ranked party member, and you'll be relegated to the lowest ranked party member if you dislike the video.

    I only just started watching your tutorial series and I'm pretty familiar with w&R SV, but why start with hard on money? even after all this time, I personally still haven't graduated to realistic mode. It seems like a lot of youtubers are obsessed with realistic mode. Why not play without it? Or why not play WITHOUT realistic mode, but pretend you are? Then you can do a tutorial without worrying about money too much.

    i think that the obove ground heating pipes lose a lot of heat while the underground ones lose very little. i could be wrong though

      Can confirm!
      Also, burying things gets more expensive with depth, so keeping things near the surface keeps them cheaper. You might consider going up then down a hill, just below the surface, rather than straight through it.

    I don't think I got the distance thing, I'm new to the game. So the cultural needs for example don't have to be in walking distance from all residential buildings if the bus stop is in walking distance from residential and the mentioned needs? like is the bus kind of checkpoint from where the citizens can proceed further?

    • @breytac
      @breytac Месяц назад +1

      That's the way I understand it as well, as far the video. As long as residents can reach the bus stop, and as long as workplaces, education and other needs are within walking range of the bus stop, then all needs of citizens are met. How long they wait at the bus stop, I don't know, as in my many starts (I've never finished building a republic), I didn't realise this could be done.
      I think JD needs to do a tutorial on bus stops.

    • @Kenjuudo
      @Kenjuudo Месяц назад +1

      @@breytac The thing is, when people reach the bus stop they search again 400 meters around *that* location to find something to do. A way to cheese the game is to chain together bus stops every 400 meters or so and people can walk arbitrarily far. lol
