I feel that this episode really shows the advantage of having everyone cook from home, they get to use some tools that they couldn't do in the studio, such as their grills. Not to say that this can replace the studio setting, but there's a nice special perspective this way that makes the dishes feel more personal.
If i used that much of salt for one dish in my own house my mother, and both my grandmothers, of which one is no longer here, would all beat me over the head

Just make sure that you don’t fill a pan/tray to the sides. my dad filled the the bottom of a metal roasting tray with salt then the fish then more salt to cover. Never do this. Took a hammer to get the salt out of the pan.
Man, I've gotta say this; I judged Palak ji heavily for her gourmet scrambled eggs and over the top french fries. But this fish and those Indian flavours that she used. I loved it!

I can actually almost imagine tasting Palak's fish and salad and damn they must be so delicious. Those combination of flavours. Anyone who has used curry leaves in cooking would know how aromatic they smell, even though they don't taste great, they impart alot flavour and smell into the dish. Also that salad, grilled corn, pickled red onions, maple syrup, cumin seeds, mango powder. My god I'm drooling already 😂
I've never eaten a curry leaves as I only use them for aromatic purposes. I normally take them out once the dish is done. Didn't even know it could be eaten. Anyway, Porgy fishes tastes great and one of the best tasting fish so she won once she chose that as her fish of choice.
The salt will keep the fish juicy and sweet, it won't be as salty as you think. This method is quite common actually, sometime people even use mud iso salt.
its a great method to cook things...but not at home. who has that much salt at home to just essentially throw away like that? there's actually a way better method, which is to make a merengue with the whites and fold salt into that. its still a bunch of salt, but definitely way less (like a pound maybe for a fish that big instead of 5 or 6). but you can roast root veggies like that, ham, roast beef...

I LOVE episodes with Jon. He’s the perfect level one... doesnt use a whole lot of premade stuff, but keeps it simple and easy. I feel like he is the perfect example of someone who likes to cook but doesn’t know any advanced techniques... but someone whose food you wouldn’t decline eating.

Take it from a colombian, the best thing in the Colombian Caribbean coast is to have fried platains, and platains cake, the best got to cartagena Barranquilla or Santa Marta you will see

My favorite fish!!!!! They are only from the Atlantic Ocean. If you live near the Pacific Ocean, some will call Rock Cod "red snapper" but it's a different fish. I find my Red Snapper in Asian markets on the west coast (if you live there) (I have 3 in my freezer right now!) East and Gulf coast and it should be easily available.
The moment they taste their food is my favorite. You can see their faces brighten up and smile comes up.... It's just gorgeous. We all love to eat. Food is what brings us together.
All this level one needs is experience, pretty soon he will find himself not able to take the shortcuts that would keep him here, he has too much taste. Level two has knowledge to the bone and level three is a master chef and taught me about her technique and culture-many thanks. I love this show, great entertainment. Congrats Chef Frank on you own show.

By far one of the most distinguishing episodes that really displayed complexility among levels, however it doesn't mean that same can be said for the taste. Really enjoyed this episode, even if I don't it fish.

It’s a certain dish, it’s not going to be inedibly salty, but it needs lots of salt.
You should try fish cooked that way, it doesn't get salty and it's absolutely delicious, juiciest fish I've ever had
