Wow I wish I found you all years ago. I been standing for 2 years. I actually gave up and started the filing process but stopped -paid for already. Realized it didn’t and wouldn’t make me feel any better. I feel like a fool, embarrassed and broken. Forgiveness is a process and Peace is easily ruffled. I’m in the same boat you were in so hope you have given me. How did you or would she suggest about dealing with the harsh words and hostility? That seems to be the hardest thing to deal with within my heart. They seem to play on repeat daily. I really would like to know from the women’s point of view. Thanks

We talk at length about the pain of coping with harsh words from prodigals. We encourage you to listen to some of our other episodes. Each show title is based on that particular theme or question... You are right, forgiveness is a process. I will say that the closer you draw to Christ, the easier and more natural it is to forgive. You will be able to look at your spouse more through eyes filled with love and compassion, rather than through hurt and possible anger. May the Lord grant you this ability in His perfect timing. Blessings...

@@PurposedMarriage I agree... God will change the way you see your spouse. He put love and compassion in my heart so I looked at my spouse as a lost soul that Jesus still valued and loved and wanted.

Thank you for this message. One of the biggest struggles is knowing if I’m called to stand. In the beginning of this my husband told me and a biblical counselor friend that he was saved in the 7th grade but a few months into our separation has said he doesn’t have a relationship with God.

      Amy S.
You are absolutely called to stand. Anything outside of standing could lead both you and your covenant husband into adultery.
      1 Corinthians 7 v39
A wife is bound to her husband for as long as he lives. No confusion in that

Tom and Amy, your podcasts are very useful to me. First, I glory in the kind, loving voices you both choose to employ with each other. Vitriol in the ‘valley,’ now replaced with sweet tones. It’s marvelous!
My sweet wife of 42 years left nearly six months ago, May 26, 2022. She has been living with one of our adult daughters in a neighboring state. She is set on pursuing divorce and attorneys on both sides are busily racking up billable hours. She communicated with me sporadically in the first few months - she has since cut off all phone and texting conversations - but now only answers an email account she specifically established for the divorce, and then her replies only deal with prepping the house and vacant land for sale, or something with the attorneys, etc.
Know that I love my sweet wife more than anything else on this earth. I do not wish to divorce her!
Before cutting off phone and texting, she gave me four reasons for hope: 1) ‘Back off and you’ll have a better chance with me,’ 2) ‘You know, divorced couples often remarry,’ 3) ‘A window of opportunity is open and will be open after our divorce, but only by a crack as that’s all my hurting heart can muster,’ and 4) ‘You’ll have to date me and court me to have any chance of marrying me.’
She feels that ending our present 42 year marriage which she calls a ‘failed marriage,’ will open the way for something new and fresh with someone else - OR - possibly me, if she is able to allow herself to forgive me, love me and trust me again.
In the meantime, I have utterly re-engaged in my spiritual life, scripture reading, church attendance, tithe paying, accepting a church calling, volunteering in and out of the church, praying like crazy!, and resumption of temple service. I am doing everything I can to improve myself and align myself with Jesus Christ and care for my neighbors and fellow church members. I never thought I would be in this situation but I have totally seized the opportunity to use the time apart to bring major improvements in my life.
Heavenly Father through the Holy Spirit, has repeatedly told me that a chance for complete reconciliation and remarriage exists but that success will depend on my wife’s ability to heal, and willingness to accept and not reject the spiritual promptings of and heart-softening processes from God. Plus, the word ‘patience,’which has bombarded my mind and has appeared in front of my eyes for months now seems to be saying that I may be in for a long wait! Time will tell…
I feel truly fortunate to have found your excellent RUclips channel. Your marriage restoration is inspiring to us all!! Much love and best wishes for you both and yours!

Been Watching restoration videos and standing for 3 yrs now and it just seems like fantasy at this point. Challenging God to show me what He wants me to do because I'm about done on standing. No signs no answers no guidance I ask and ask in prayer yet no answer.. I know God answers prayer because I personally have had prayer answered multiple times yet not one answer in 3 years? Sounds like a no for me on getting back with my ex wife. In the bible most miracles are instant yet in real life it takes years and years to make a miracle. I just don't get it. She won't want me back she filed already . Why pray for a restoration that will never happen. I'll pray for her salvation. And move on to another woman. I don't want her anymore. It's not that God is not answering the way I want but not answering AT ALL. .NO ANSWER AT ALL is the problem

It helps me understand my wife's behavior....the hardest part now is the divorce was finalized 10/22 ( I fought prayed and didn't beg but asked to wait but she was like a loaded freight train barreling down at me). Couldn't stop it.
We hard lunch the week after the divorce - her idea. We spoke for three hours after lunch and a couple more phone calls after that meeting. I've been blocked on her phones and social media. It's so painful -

I would encourage you to keep your focus on the Lord so that you can be both strengthened and comforted at the same time.🤍🤍 Ask the Lord to soften your heart towards your spouse and the other person. Especially the other person. Pray for true repentance and salvation-keeping a focus on spiritual matters vs what you feel emotionally. This is easier said/written than actually applied..but with the power of the Holy Spirit, you CAN do it. I pray that you are encouraged in the Lord and that you will draw your worth from Him. He has GREAT PLANS FOR YOU!!❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾
