I really enjoyed this! I’m in my final semester of my MSW program. Your videos have been super helpful from the moment I was looking into grad school, until this point. & I know I will continue to watch your videos throughout my career. ❤️
my BSW field placement last semester was in a school and I absolutely loved it !! (there's a vlog of my last internship days on my channel) but that experience led me to want to go into school social work after grad :)) love all the info you put out
If you don’t mind me asking social work is something I’m looking into perusing what can I expect from going into college for social work? Is there anything that you didn’t expect or advice you could give to someone still in high school to get a little ahead?
I’m about to start grad school in the Fall, and I’m hoping to go into school social work. Thanks for sharing your experience and advice! It’s so helpful! 😊
In the Philippines, there has no school social worker. I assume, its because of the misconception between counselor and social worker, and Filipinos generally assume that school social worker's job is solely therapeutic which is the same with the guidance counselor. But given with our situation and multi faceted problems, I think school social workers are necessary. Can you do a video differentiating a school guidance counselor and school social worker?
Im currently a homecare and hospice social worker. But, I am looking to become a school social worker in the future to accommodate my mommy schedule. Thanks for your blog.
I love the idea of your job as being the primary school social worker for your entire district. I currently work with teen parents as a ECS Family Advocate, through a partnership agency within an Alternative School. Although, I would love to eventually transition my practicum into something like your position once I complete my MSW in ‘22. I would definitely want to learn more additional details in regards to the outline of your work. Thanks for the video!! ☺️
Ahhh!! It's been a while since I watched your videos. I realized I miss you!! Congrats on new role and new work home! Trying to prepare for my next step!! I have no idea how I'm going to fix my resume to become a SSW
Thank you for your helpful videos! I am in my last semester of my MSW program (set to graduate in May) and currently in a school social work field placement. Our school returns to partially in person learning starting tomorrow and I am so excited to meet some of my students in person!
Hi! Looks like you're also from San Antonio! If so, I'd love to meet with you one day. I am about to graduate with my associate's degree and will be pursuing BSW soon. I'm so excited to be on this journey so my goal is to connect with others who have the same passion :)
I have a question.... Why did you choose social work? Did you ever think of psychology? In my counrty psychology is seen as a more superior qualification. I am confused on which to choose as my first degree. I've been told that social workers spend more time doing paper work than actually getting to help people and that they are limited to the resources of the government as well as the final decision their superior in the workplace makes on a case. Any advice?
First of all, thanks for the videos and all you do. I am a recent graduate in New York but moving to Houston Texas in 2months. I've been searching non stop for school Social work positions🤦♀️ thinking of putting the move on hold while I get a job first. What other positions can I apply to in a school in Texas?..
Can anyone tell what BA they studied before applying to their BSW? Im just starting to do all my research of how to become a social worker and I have no clue where to start and what the best route is education wise. THANK YOU!!!
Hi! I'm in school right now majoring in Human Services. What kind of positions would you recommend for someone who'd like to work with kids in this field?
I want to become a social worker, My bf knows me and i do suffer with depression. He feels that it could worsen my depression and strexs me out if I go into social work. I have heard stories of social workers getting yelled at and mistreated by those getting services. also i read that social workers face some dangerous situations. Am one who is a social worker could please give me advice?
What state are you in? Because on your way to work, it looks so lonely and depressing! Edit: I didn't realize that was Texas... Edit 2: I just realize Texas look nothing like California
Does it pay well? I know we are not in the field for the money, but I am in my third year of my BSW and all my buddies who went into Computer Science are getting junior offers for 50-60k a year. Makes me question my choices.
It is tough for BSW grads or non licensed social workers to make more money. I have my LMSW and LCSW -- so yes, the pay is very comfortable for me and my family.
@@SocialWorkScrapbook yes I understand that. I am certainly pursuing my MSW and then my goal is LICSW and private practice. I Thank you very much for your response!
Counselors typically focus on helping families and individuals with a specific set of problems, particularly patients with mental health disorders. Social workers, on the other hand, focus on providing a wider range of services in social service systems.

I love these types of videos!
Can you make a video on the steps to obtaining your ASW? And a FAQ? I’m graduating this semester and have no idea where to go from here
Hi I really like this career field, my only question is do all social workers or school social workers go to families' houses?
I’ve been interested in pregnant teens!!! Would being a school SW be a better chance for catering to that type of audience?
Got confused do you make calls on your breaks?

Does your district pay for their babies to go to the daycare even if they live with their parents and the grandparents both work?

Random question where did you get that laptop case from? Love these videos as I am interested in the social work field
Welcome back...
Thank you for the video. But you hardly eat anything for lunch. Please look after yourself and get properly nourished.

What salary do you make
What is the difference between school counselors and social workers?? I applied for a masters in counseling but am thinking about going this route
