    Well explained video. This looks easier than changing the engine oil filter. Gonna give this a go

    With your outboard lower leg oil change it is common to re-fill them with a pump from the lower drain plug until it comes out the top plug hole as they will airlock if you try to fill from the top fill hole.

    Nice job. Most of people would not think of that. I built a platform base from 2x6 3 inches high. Use 2 sets of truck Ramps. I use a floor jack to lift the quad up enough to slide everything in place under the wheels. I can then use a Creeper under the quad. Makes access mush easier for maintenance. This set up works well for me and much easier on the back and knees. Lol

      I recently bought a Can Am 650. I bought an ATV/Motorcycle Lift for 150.00. In order to get the height I wanted I added a couple 4x4’s, now it lifts quite high and it raises fast. Highly recommended.

    I found that after about 4 or 5 oil changes the wear seems to really have reduced to negligible levels - oil comes out clean after 1000-1200km. Same with the rear diff. It seems they take awhile to "break in" but definitely better now.

    Hey Mike. Is that machine a wet sump or dry sump?

    I just popped a 3/4 hole in the lower side cover to get a socket in

      Also I use Redline heavy shock gear oil in all three holes, really quiets it down.

    Hey Mike. Does your machine have a dry sump or wet sump for the oil

    • @bikermike
      @bikermike  3 года назад

      The gear box oil is separate from engine oil on this model. If that’s what your wondering. Engine Im pretty sure is wet sump.

    Im leaking fluid right beside the fill hole where the driveshaft goes into the gearbox reckon what that could be?

    • @bikermike
      @bikermike  2 года назад +1

      Do you know if anything has ever been apart on it? Best to get everything power washed up and dried to locate it. After cleaned and dried take it for a rip in a dry environment. Then inspect again. Your guess is as good as mine but that’s how I’d try to find where it’s leaking. Brake clean will do a great job of drying it up to inspect.

    Do you know how often it should be changed, when I bought mine used it didn’t have a manual?

    • @bikermike
      @bikermike  2 года назад

      Manual says
      First 1500kms and every 3,000kms under (severe use).
      First 3.000kms and every 6,000kms (regular trail riding. )
      So gauge it based on how you use your machine. Obviously more often is better for being safe.

      No real reason other than availability, and as long as it’s synthetic.
