Extremely helpful. I have no experience with Premier Pro so with a bit of stumbling around I got it to work. Thanks!!! Much better than those online Speech-to-text sites.

Audio can be transcribed to use as Captions in Premiere Pro. Feel free to reach out on Twitter or Facebook if you have any questions about Transcription.

Hi, thanks for writing in. This feature is not available in After Effects. I'd recommend creating a post about it in the After Effects community so that experts can suggest how they achieve this in After Effects: adobe.ly/47qjCDn

Could you please support Tamil language? Tamil is spoken by more than 80 million people and many software products can already convert Tamil speech to text. Looking forward to using the Tamil auto-transcribe feature in Premiere Pro! :)

Hi, have you already submitted this as a feature request? adobe.ly/3T27i8l That's the best place to send this feedback. Thanks!

This feature is great, but how is it even a thing that it is NOT possible to only transcribe an already cut clip from a sequence, so you have to either transcribe the WHOLE footage (for me it's sometimes 5-6 hours of footage), even if the cut clip you need is only a few seconds. A tip on some adobe help site says you have to transcribe the final footage, that's just an incredible and totaly unnecessary extra step in workflow (cut, produce, export final footage, then create new project, import final footage, transcribe final footage, insert captions). If you e.g. want to use certain effects which should affect final footage AND the captions as well, then you'll have to either bring the post-production created captions into the first project to apply the effects to both final cut AND the captions, OR the alternative would be to leave all effects away in the first place just to apply them (after the captions have been added) in an extra project?
If there is a solution for that, please tell me. That really drives me crazy!

In Premiere, you can generate a transcript without transcribing the entire source material. See 0:40 at this clip to generate a static transcript. Static transcripts are just of the material in the sequence, not the whole source material. They can't be used in text-based editing, but they can be used to create captions! We hope this helps!

@@AdobeCare Wow thanks a lot, yes that really helps!! ❤ I did not figure out in the video that this is what I need, somehow the description is not dummy-proof enough for me (also the text in my language directly in Premiere, I just did not get it) 😅
