@@4amcripple How did Ivar conceive a child? Ivar's wife Freydis secretly conceived a child with another man and then convinced Ivar that he had successfully impregnated her when she drank some of his blood, despite his impotence. Believing himself to be a god, Ivar named the baby after Odin's son Baldur.
Same I was disappointed it just collapsed but hey I think we will get another Ivar Heamund Relationship in S6 if you Know who Ivar teams up with wink wink
It was supposed too. Heahmund was supposed to be a major character till the end of the show but while they were filming this season, John Rhys Meyers was injured several times and his wife had a miscarriage. He understandably requested to be written off the show which is why (SPOILER) Heahmund died soon after
@@Dragon11730 I haven't seen this confirmed... I assume it's a rumor. Hirst has said plainly he wrote Heahmund out because he was done with his character and didn't have much else for him to do. He was always going to die in battle. He and JRM both gave great examples of Heahmund being like a Roman candle who burns bright but goes out with a bang. It makes sense, given how he has a very Viking-like mentality about the glory of dying in battle and going into the afterlife (which in itself is a wonderful mirror of two very different cultures). Regardless, it's super sad. JRM is a legendary actor and he pretty much single handedly revived the show after Ragnar. He had such depth as a character. I don't see why Hirst said his arc was done. Especially with the range that JRM has, there was SO MUCH that could have been done. They could have started integrating more templar lore, if nothing else, since warrior bishops were the precursor. I would have loved to see that over some of the other storylines - less of the Rus and more of Heahmund's role in the formation of the templars, and more of he and Lagertha's relationship. I would have loved to see them work out. Poor Lagertha deserved something besides suffering, and they really were perfect together. The show got a jolt of new life when he arrived, but went right back downhill again when he left. Heahmund's death will always be the hardest one to swallow for me in the whole show tbh. Such a shame.
People thought the earth was flat way back when until some Egyptian mathematician using shadow and 2 obelisks . What does it lie on ? , some said a massive turtle. What stops the ocean running off the sides? Others ( the Vikings ) said a massive snake Jsomething.
When Ivar said that they fought an almighty battle and Heahmund replied ironically yes i can imagine, seeing afterwards Ivars face made it hilarious...
In the trailer of season 5b, we see glimpses of Heahmunds character, and at first, I was confused and had no idea where his character was heading. But from thinking quite a bit, and watching the conversation between the two in this particular scene, it’s helped me understand a lot more. Ivar talks about the “moon” and I think he’s talking about Lagertha. In the trailer of 5b, we see Heahmunds character going a bit insane and crazy, and it’s because of the “moon” who I think is Lagertha. When Ivar also says “Do you understand what I’m thinking?”, it makes me believe as if this was his whole plan and intention from the start. What if Ivars plan was for the Bishop to get captured, and pretend to fall in “love” with Lagertha? It seems as if the Bishop has swapped sides but to be completely honest, I don’t think he has. As much as he loves women, I just believe he’ll stay loyal to Ivar because of the respect they both have for each other. This might be one way Ivar gets his revenge. If this was a plan from the beginning, it would be such a great plot twist, especially because I loved the interactions between Ivar and the Bishop. I’m not 100% sure if it will happen, but just a thought. I hope I am right haha.
Fucking hell combined with the sneak peaks of the second half I think you're right! It shows Lagertha not trusting Heahmund, all the while he claims to love her (with the coldest look on his face).
I don’t think this is true cause when he fell in battle and Ivar asked king herold about him he was upset to hear that he was defeated and though him to be dead. Also He and Ivars enemy’s go back to England and prepare to fight against him it’s shown plenty of times in the trailer
Seriously...the people who try to ascribe "sexual tension" to this scene are ridiculous, because it's just two guys talking about religion (not a popular topic of conversation in the LGBTQ community beyond "boo hoo hoo...religion is bad"). There is a bit of an error in that Ivar refers to the Mani (the Norse lunar deity, and the origin of the concept of the "man in the moon") as female. In Norse mythology, Mani was male and Sunna (the solar deity) was feminine.
agreed. Ragnar was a shell of a screewed up shit at his end. He was predictable & boring as fuck compared to Ivar. And that pussy athlestan ? Ivar and Heahmund were rocked. Now Ivar rocks with russ and they close the show wtf

🤣🤣Ivars face is hilarious “if shes a virgin how can she be a mother?”
Perfect. xD

Bishop Heamund's voice is full with confidence yet so relaxing is priceless.
I love how Ivar finds Jesus' conception stupid and yet he fully belives that there is a giant snake in the sea that is as large as the world.

something like the leviathan
The conception of jesus is stupid. Why don’t we hail every woman who manages the same ‘miracle’ and their offspring to a deific status?
I feel like the story of the virgin mary's conception made ivar believe he was capable of having children (foreshadow to season 5b)
I thought this when watching too
Nice catch
I didnt know ivar was bonerless as well as boneless ?

Both lying
Thats because neither is lying nor is either telling the truth

Why ivar drew his knife he could tell her was being mocked, whenever mocked he gets very aggressive and scares his opponent.
I feel like Ivar is flirting him. 😂😂
I truly hope it becomes a bromance like Ragnar's and Athelstan's
Iv Niev this is a hardcore version of ragnar and aehtelstan

I could see the parallels when I was watching this. Just only hardcore a you said.
Militant, unstable and brutal.

Floki came back and killed him too
If only he knew then...
Bishop Heamund walked it like he talked it.
Loved their short time together. Ivar admired heahmund as a man.
Honestly even though this conversation is epic, the acting is fucking brilliant.
This relationship could have helped Ivar understand his father better, like Athelstan.
This two guys both ruthless
I think ivar knows that Astrid betrayed them
Ivar takes in a Bishop just as Ragnor took in a monk. They did hold them as hostages at first but you know what I mean
Heamund died on 22March 871 in battle with the Danes he is Saint to.
That's a hell of a sexual tension between those two

Such a juxtaposition between the conversations between ragnar and ecbert.
Anyone else getting Ecbert and Ragnar vibes
