- In today's review, we compare the Glock 19 Gen 5 to the Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 Compact chambered in 9mm. The two are great choices for IWB concealed carry and are both very popular choices for a good reason - You can't go wrong with either choice it seems. They are about the same size, both are good shooters at the range, both are 9mm, hold 15 rounds in each, each offers larger capacity magazine choices as well as optic ready choices availability. If you had to choose just one, which would YOU pick?

Sweet comment thanks boss
Awesome and fair breakdown. Both have good points and bad that put them both at the very top of the market.
I think the Glock is outdated for what you pay for and all of the aftermarket stuff needed to update it. That said, the M&P is my preferred choice and I own a few with my newest edition being the M&P Metal with the flat trigger they’ve been incorporating into the newer pistols and it’s miles ahead of the curved trigger.
How's the trigger pull on the new guns?
Both are great, reliable and very durable guns. Trust my life with either one! Thanks for another informative video!
There’s something mesmerizing about the simplicity of the Glock design.
Both are outstanding option. Put an Apex trigger in both and some good night sights and they will last a lifetime.
I recently put around 200 rounds each through a Glock 19, 48 and SW MP 2.0. I liked the MP the most so that's what I bought. In terms of the 10mm however, I will go with the Glock 20 over the MP 10mm.
S&W makes factory 23 rnd mags, they're just hard to find. They even have the grip extensions with texture. Assume they marry up to the full size frame, but am not sure. They also released a different style with a gray gun last year, but those look more like aftermarket mag extensions.
When they release 23 round magazines?
Everyone should be aware that the latest M&P Compact and full-sized pistols, unlike the one reviewed here, have improved, flat-faced triggers and full, front slide serrations.
The trigger is better but still sucks on the one I got
Narrator: "you're going to buy a $600 dollar plastic gun, and then immediately replace the trigger and sights with something that works"
My father's generation: "The hell I am! What's wrong with you?!?"
M&P gang over here! Made the switch and won’t look back
Gave my father my Gen 4 Glock 23 for Father’s Day and then replaced it with an M&P 2.0 Compact 9 with the flat trigger, optic cut, and tall sights.
Love the weight, grip angle, trigger, looks, and overall quality of the 2.0, but Glocks are still great pistols.
2:30 As of 2023 the 9mm Compact M2.0 Spec comes with two 23 round mags. They are a bit much for concealed carry, but they are great for the range. 7:00 the M&P Spec also got the flatter Shield Plus trigger, which is amazing. Not a fan of the original 2.0 trigger.
Glock makes the 17, 19, 42, 43x and 45 in battlefield green, dark earth and gray from the factory for specific distributors. They used to do the 22, 23, 26, 43, and a few others, as well. They’re tough to get but you can absolutely get a Glock with a true colored polymer frame, not cerakote. If I’m correct, they will make any of their frames in those colors when orders are placed for them by AmChar or Lipseys.
I had a Glock 22 chambered in 40 and I just purchased the same M&P 2.0. Both are great guns Glocks are probably the most reliable gun on earth, you can beat the hell out of them and they will keep working. Smith & Wesson makes great guns as well and has been around longer the Glock, I believe Smith & Wesson has been making guns since 1882. Law enforcement actually use both Glock and the M&P but I can tell you that the M&P looks better as in appearance, it just looks a lot better, Glocks look really blocky like a brick. The M&P goes right on target when you draw and the Glock I noticed usually points down so you have to adjust. My first choice is the M&P but both are great gubs!
This was great. Thank You❣️
I was glad to see a side by side on the two guns I am looking at!
I love your videos Sir! 💪💪💪
Both great guns. Can’t go wrong with either one.
i like glock, i have to full-size glocks, the glock 17 & 22 both gen 5, but i like the m&p 2.0 more, i have 2 full-size m&p 2.0's, both chambered in .40 s&w obviously, my favorite and ideal cartridge caliber!
I had a 21, full size .45 cal. It was alright, but was nothing compared to my 1911 to shoot. Never bought another Glock. Never really wanted one. "Meh" comes to mind.
.40 S&W is my favorite handgun caliber too.
@@RoadKing-ky2bs 🍻 cheers bro😎👍💪💯💫⚡☄️🔥
@@Coodreaux_Kong try the full-size m&p 2.0, you will love it, the slide stop/release is a little tough in the beginning but breaks in, and the grip texture is rough to most( ot me i love it), but wears down to perfection after a few range visits, i love the grip texture, ergonomics, angle and feel, and the gun us beautiful looking and shoots great, they have nee triggers if you don'ike the central pivoting trigger, or buy an apex trigger
Yea i came to say i love this channel but someone beat me to it👍
love tye M&P 2.0c, but tye shield plus pc is my go to edc.
Very interesting thanks. I'm looking for a gun this size and your video helps.
my m@P shield plus came with night sights i love it. My bro has g19 it is also a great gun
The “aftermarket support” talking point with Glocks is way overhyped. Been shooting my glocks for 12 years and never needed to upgrade a part I couldn’t find on this or any other manufacturer. The track record with Glock vs M&P is also overhyped. At some point both of these should stop. Yes, Glocks have been around longer but in no way should overshadow how great and reliable M&P, sig, CZ….etc are. I battle the “Glock reliability” mentality so I’m guilty of that. However, I trust my M&Ps, CZ, Sig, FN equally with my life as I do Glock.
Mp 2.0s are awesome. Glocks are good but not as cool
My Smith stomped the GLOCK....in all avenues.
M&P is the clear winner. Now if you want something better than the M&P get a CZ P10C or Walther PDP
Clear winner yet Glock still outsells every other handgun u mentioned as well as having the best track record in both LE & Military applications 😂 cope
& you have shot all these guns extensively?
M&p 2.0 over everything
@@9770G You should watch police shooting vids. I have watched thousands and I have seen a ton of Glocks jamming. My CZ's and Walther's have never jammed but the 3 Glocks I owned all have. Glocks are also the most returned gun brand meaning that people buy them and trade them in or sell them. Every gun store you go to if you ask them what used guns they get in the most it's Glock.
@@9770Gyour the one coping. All you can do is bring up sales as of law enforcement and military isn’t known for being conservative. Sales don’t change truth.
You skipped some of the M&P's features that put it above the Glock in build quality. There is a huge comfort difference with a 17 round mag without a sleeve and smooth, constant surface with the 2 S&W provide. You mentioned the front serrations but a little rain makes the G19 slick and press checks more difficult. I don't think that the metal dust cover makes much of a difference but the double captive springs and steel rod are much better. If you really like the 22' grip angle, plastic u-dot sights and gritty trigger you're kinda living on an island but you skipped the 4 backstraps (v only 2 with Glock) and the best grip texture on the market. Lastly, Glocks aren't alone at the top of the reliability ladder any more, the M&P line and others are up there with them. For the 2.9 oz of extra weight, I prefer a gun that doesn't feel like a toy in my hand so if I run out of ammo, the M&P makes a better club.
I really love the M&P 2.0 but the ability to possibly do better press checks in the rain hardly counts as a selling point in build quality man lol
ETS makes a 40 round fun stick for the M&p
Great review!!!!
are they actually easy to conceal or do you realistically need something p365 sized to make it easy and comfortable?
I pocket carry or appendix carry daily with the SW
I like the Smith & Wesson the only problem is it looks a lot larger than the Glock 19 that's why the Glock 19 is number 1 with the Police Depts
Much slimmer looking and much nicer 👍
I'll pick the smith & Wesson over the Glock for the grip angle but I like the Glock OEM magazine options, available, and price. But if I have the option which I do(God bless America) I like my FN 509 better. That being said I have all three 😇. Can't go wrong . All are reliable and well built pistols
Both great handguns but Glock takes the cake. There is a reason why even 30 years later, every handgun is compared to Glock. Glock is still and for the foreseeable future the golden standard of handguns. My advice would be to just get what u like more. For me that’s Glock.
I am a Glock guy, 63 years old I have a Glock 17 Gen 2 and Gen 4, I have a Glock 26 gen3 edc Glock till I die.
If you can go to a range that rents both. Try them and then it’s a matter of personal preference.
I own both guns and I carry the 4.25” 2.0 for duty, as it’s my issued gun. That being said, I’ll take a Glock any day all day over any M&P 2.0 model, even the the 2.0 is a fantastic gun. Glock is just better when it comes to reliability. Oh, and S&W’s their 10mm 2.0 is junk. I’ve sent mine back to S&W twice and they still can’t get it right!
S&W is reliable too
I completely disagree about the 9mm 2.0 compared to the Glock 19. I liked the MP much more but I absolutely agree with the 10mm comparison!
The M&P’s are nice handguns but Glock still is the golden standard today just like it has for the last 30 years, and that’s for good reason. Glock makes a amazing product, it’s reliable, built well, fairly priced and has amazing after market support. Can’t go wrong with either but if u could only have one, go GLOCK 😂👍🏻
@@9770G 💯% 👍
yeah, I thought all the Gen5 models had front and rear serrations ... interesting ..
The moment you pick them up you'll see that the Glock is simply the better gun. As it is compared to any of the modern polymer framed striker fired guns which are called "glock clones" for a reason.
Both lol I got both …
Glock won. EASILY!
Fkn based my lion patriot
Not at all.
Unless you intend to upgrade and customize every small piece of your firearm then it’s really not a competition at all.
The m&p is *obviously* a objectively better gun in nearly every possible way.
But both are proven and reliable firearms so it’s not like you can go wrong either way.
Glock is great, but those sights are horrific.
Excellent
Glock looks like a brick, thus, at least for me, the M&P wins the „Looks“- Category by a mile!
The M&P wins in every category except gun that has the most malfunctions. That would go to Glock
Smith and wesson is headquartered in Massachusetts a very blue state.. why buy a product from a company when their taxes go to support the enemy if 2 amendment.. explain please
Is it better to support a company that’s not in the US at all then? Like Austria? At least the money is kept in the US with Smith & Wesson.
They moved down here to TN😊
S&W,American made only for me.
You’re still proud to be an American, but you carry a foreign gun.😂😂😂😂😂
