- IT'S BACK... and in Red and Nightcore form?
Two years ago, December 2021, even before the Izzy era, I held the first ever “Musical Epiosde Awards.” Which was quickly renamed to the “Musical Episode Awards.” Like Total Drama, like Portal, and now like Bray Wyatt, people have been asking for a follow up ever since. On top of that, I’ve been flooded with comments about the episodes that I apparently “missed.” But after several years, more cartoons, and multiple attempts to get by the evil RUclips copyright police. Here it is, The Musical Episode Awards 2023. With just as much overbearing lore and story from plastic characters as last time.

In all seriousness, I think it's fine to call Scott the Woz a show even when it was solely on youtube. Scott treats "Scott the Woz" like a TV show in behind the scene videos, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's partially why he's successful. He's avoided a lot of pitfalls that other people trying to force youtube fame have fallen into.
Scott the woz is on TV actually!! he got his own show like a year back on a channel where its just his yt videos

I put this on the original but I'm unsure if anyone saw it. There is a musical episode of Doom Patrol called Immortimas Control. It's not the best musical episode ever and honestly isn't close to the best episode of the show, but its a fun time. It also does something extremely cool where the main title theme of the show is used as the backing of one of the episodes. That's not something I've seen done before so it was a cool moment.
Adding to the list is from “Todd and the book of pure evil” awesome metal-head-stoner monster of the week show that’s a lot like my baby sisters a vampire mixed with buffy the vampire slayer! Anyways they have a musical episode that freaking slaps with mostly all of the songs being great.
I adore doom patrol! And Immortimus patrol brought me so much joy.

when i saw that one small morel orel clip i actually got really happy bc moral orel is one of my favorite shows that i got into after my ex and i broke up last year
that and i just absolutely love watching your videos, they’re my favorite to play as background noise when i’m at work!! keep up the great work!!
I will say the red filter, while a shame that the original version got blocked and you had to use it, adds a extra layer of humor to the video, because like at 52:00, yeah, absolutely real life people could pull this off and Black Canary's beautiful chipmunk voice that truly sounds like Avatar's Azula.
if you're doing this again next year i definitely recommend dead end paranormal park's "phantom of the theme park" episode (also has alex brightman in it and this time hes a demon AND a cute little pug!) as well as, for some reason, the kappa mikey episode "the karaoke episode" which i only have vague memories of but left such an impression on me as a child that i literally cannot think of anything else first when i think about a musical episode in a show. no idea why. nobody has thought about this show in like 15 years.
I highly recommend anyone who liked the Craig of the Creek episode to check out Jeff Rosenstock and his bands, Bomb the Music Industry and The Arrogant Sons of Bitches. He did the music for the episode and is also the show's composer. He's one of the best musicians in the game and he is too often overlooked. His new album Hellmode is phenomenal, and I also reccomend Worry. I'll say, if you are familiar with Jeff's music, the CoTC episode feels like the cast is doing an impression of how he sings.
(Also I left a very similar comment on the original upload, but that got deleted, and I want to lead as many people to listen to Jeff as possible)

you bringing up alex brightman in the helluva boss segmant made me remember dead end paranormal park which ALSO has a musical episode AND alex brightman plays a main character in that show and has a whole song going between two voices in the musical episode. also the singer from fall out boy is a minor character in that show and sings a little bit. i heavily recommend dead end paranormal park in general but especially the musical episode, i regularly find myself replaying all the songs from it (and there are 9!! 9 songs in that episode!! and its a normal length episode!!)
that whole show means a lot to me because of one of the main characters but also one of the songs in the musical episode which that main character sings lol
downside is the show got cancelled after season 2 because it was on netflix and netflix hates everything it touches that isnt big mouth
Speaking of musicals... Have you seen Schmigadoon/Schmicago? The show is basically a Broadway musical isekai and it's brilliant.
1:03:19 Craig of the Creek hasn’t ended yet, it’s still on hiatus. The final 11 episodes are getting handed over to Cartoon Network this month. On top of that, Craig Before the Creek (The COTC Movie) came out in December and is supposed to premiere on CN on the 13th, and new episodes of Jessica’s Big Little World just came out a few days ago.

These are probably some of the best long videos that I've found. Your voice isn't distracting whatsoever, everything just comes through smoothly, almost never confusing, if I want to just listen while doing whatever it's super easy. You never are annoying in any of these imo, hell, the craziest one is probably my favourite. I have listened to your Izzy Isn't Crazy video countless times im not even joking.

I am so so so sad he didnt include Dead End: Paranormal Park's musical episode. Such a great show gone before it's time and the musical episode is sooooo good. Like they have Patrick Stump and great original songs and parody/cover too.
Good list though. I love Daria, she's my favorite character of that show, and I forgot about the musical episode.
Riverdale is a guilty pleasure but I did enjoy the Heathers episode. I actually saw it before hearing any of Heather's the musical so it's been an interesting journey.
Also Batman Brave and the Bold is such fun Silver Age style Batman. It is a breath of fresh air with how "edgy" some writers try to make Bruce.
I thought the same thing for dead end! The musical episode is amazing!

@@princembat my best friend and I were devastated when the news came out Netflix cancelled Dead End and Inside Job. Both of them had so much more story to tell. And to leave it at the cliffhanger for Dead End absolutely breaks our hearts!
Hopefully Dead End can make it into a 2026 installment if there is one

Ultra month is starting off great
There's a musical episode in a Netflix show called Dead End: Paranormal Park, to be more specific is episode 9 Phantom of the theme park, it has good songs that are really well singed by the cast, and the show is very underrated and obscure so it's just fair sharing a hidden gem
Regarding MLP, Magical Mystery Cure is one of I think 4 musical episodes thay qualify for your rules, and its easily the worst one. Id seriously recommend Pinkie Pride, Crusaders of the Lost Mark, and A Hearths Warming Tale

with regards to mlp, i think the only good musical bit is the second equestria girls movie. (having been forced to watch it a ton as a kid) while not a musical per se, it still has the best songs of the entire franchise

Rainbow Rocks is definitely great but I feel like the series had good songs. A Royal Wedding pt2, Magical Mystery Cure, and the Christmas Carol spoof are good musical episodes imo
Equestria Girls wouldn’t count though since it’s a movie and thus longer than a regular episode. He has, like 3 more Musical Season finales he can talk about that are normal episode length

The sad thing about the Mammon song is that normally Tom Cardy makes such great songs but this,, just ain't it chief. I love his music! But this really doesn't feel like him. It's so offputting to hear his voice in that song.

Please please PLEASE tell me the ominous spotlights at 3:15:52 and 3:36:55 are a reference to the Lords in Black from Starkid's Hatchetfeild trilogy/ specifically Nerdy Prudes Must Die, the lights being very reminiscent of when they appear at the beginning of The Summoning and throughout that number, also the wanting of a material "form of value" from the recipient.

I seriously cant believe practically no one has seen the masterpiece that is the Dead End: Paranormal Park musical episode. The show as a whole is already fantastic but the musical episode just made it even better with how well thought out the songs were with emotional lines and the plot was just so good too. So sad the show got cancelled before the show could really finish up its story :/

I love this series and this video (I watched the premiere) so absolutely no hate! I wanted to say Dan Povenmire has posted multiple times about the circumstances of his daughter’s casting.
Thought on Hazbin hotel? Never expected it to be a musical show so I can't wait to see how this factors into the next Musical awards. All the songs are good even songs I don't like are good some are too short, or the lyrics are talked and not sung, but the instruments are so good that overshadows it. I only really noticed this in Stayed Gone and that kind of sucks because this is one of the best songs in the show to me.

Wellll, you'll probablyyy never do another musical vid, but if you do you could check out the musical episode of Dead End: Paranormal Park (ep 9 if s1), a show that some people really enjoyed but Netflix cancelled anyway. It fits your requirements: regular length, & has at least 6 songs (more if you count the shorter songs)
