The only substance capable of wounding a Kryptonian is Kryptonite, and Supergirl made sure to destroy all of them in the previous season. So, unless there were also DEO operatives in the group and they had a Red-sun trap to weaken her, they really had no way to neutralize the Red Daughter.
By now National City should know that if Supergirl doesn't seem right, as in fighting and/or killing the good guys that she is not supergirl, well not herself at least.
Well think about it, She was very much against the more anti alien administration that was going on. She would very much would like for the alien amnesty act to stay intact and as what happened before this clip it was repealed. Couple with all the aliens that have been attacked just because they're aliens in is any wonder of the real supergirl didn't go off the deep end? That's what anyone else would believe which lex counted on.

She has never tried to kill anyone unless theirs an evil version of her, whether it be her or someone else. When this stuff happens, it's not the Supergirl they all love and know.

Obviously Supergirl wouldn't attack the white house like this but given the circumstances it is believable she would. It's not like the red krytonite incident where she just flipped the script for no reason.
The Red Daughter can easily pose as Kara and either confess or reveal her secret, unless Kara can pull off a scene in which both her civilian form and The Red Daughter are seen as two separate people.

Well my best guess is. They show their loosing veiwers due to the many problems the show has so to try to get veiwers back they show the whole point of episode in promo. Even if its basiccally a spoiler. Plus the having red daughter dress like supergirl and attack president is extremely predictable. Its lazy writing not clever writing. Many i talked too saw it coming on reddit and youtube.

We got to see it last week (and the Otis reveal the week before), but they don't have the benefit of that. This scene was just set up for the rest of the season because now Kara is aware there's a double of her.
@ROGUE 1701-D if i ever meet guy who plays for barry allen. I would call him allen instead of gustin. Main point i keep track of their show characters names not the actor or actresses names. So i would not know who they are unless people mention the character name.
