I love love love Agents. Trishula into Kristya is a hell of a drug. Trooper Agents is probably my favorite variant. Call of the Haunted to get a Thunder king in response to a ROTA or Pot of Duality was just so good. Great deck and great video
Another phenomenal video! One of the last decks I played before my biggest hiatus! Really amazing to hear this decks perspective from someone who played in the actual event back in the day! Keep having fun with what you do because we the viewers can’t get enough! Would love to see some goat format not something you’ve touched a lot. Edison format as well! i remember this discussion about maxx c vs venus , as you it really was dependant on the strength of your hand , mostly we conlcuded though you get the +1 from maxx c most of the time if you could deal with there +1 in gachi, i still like birdman as a 1 of , ive also been looking at upstart goblin over duality as upstart doesn't restric your turn like duality would
I've enjoyed using Card Troopers, and call of the haunted in this deck as well. I think that idea became a development in the agent deck in 2012, but I think trooper is really strong in this deck and format given Tking's popularity. Also it allows you to undead your big monster hands, and set up for reborn/coh + krystia
Yeah I believe you're right. In March 2012 format, Konami limited Earth to 1 which was a huge blow to the decks consistency (which was already kind of hit or miss). Then they realized that was going too far and either brought it back to 2 or 3 in September 2012, can't remember for sure.
At my locals we had the same discussion and it was fairly split down the middle when you should Maxx C the Venus. I've always been on the side of using it on the first summon and I'll explain why. For me it was always partially dependant on your hand but if you had a way to deal with the Venus and were comfortable risking the chance of Honest, Maxx C'ing the first Shine Ball made the likelihood of two dead shineball draw possibilities for the future and also likely less lights/fairies in the grave for your opp to use for their boss monster summons/effects. Plus in testing against higher level players eventhough it was a lot more tempting for the opp to summon Gachi and give you the second draw, in practice it rarely happened. Most of the time they were fine just leaving the 2 shineballs in defense with the Venus. I still to this day believe that Maxx C'ing the first summon is the slightly better route in most situations.
One of my best friends in the Yugioh community loves Agents and we go back and play 2011/12 formats all the time. Knowing when to Maxx C the Venus is always a tricky situation for me.
I'm more of a modern yugioh player but I been recently quite upset about the state it's in in terms of gameplay. I really think modern yugioh could be the craziest, most fun, exciting, challenging and diverse form of yugioh in addition to what already makes it enjoyable but man, seeing this many two turns games in 2022 makes me sad. And the worst part is, whenever the games go longer, 5+ turns, it's just super enjoyable to see two strategies clash to the best of their abilities. That's why it's so frustrating to see decks that are designed only to prevent the opponent to make a single play. I now it can be considered a challenge to break a board, but whenever you're not able to, or didn't draw a good hand, was it even an enjoyable experience ? I'd be really interested in what's your take on it. (I'm not a casual player btw)
I always wanted this deck to somehow be able to summon earth and venus out on the same turn so that u could synchro turn 1. If agents were to be released in a modern yugioh era(today) the field spell(sanctuary in the sky) wouldve been a ROTA effect that also gave u an extra normal summon

This deck was super fun. Like you said, cool boss monsters, the best deck to take advantage of BLS coming back.

No. The only YCS in which it was ruled in that many was YCS Indy at the end of the summer format.
