Hey 👋🏻 Kyle & Alexa. Love to see Alexa back in the Vlog. I’ve been to NY once and my first reaction was just like yours, Kyle. The smell, the cold, and the small hotel rooms just amazes me. I have to admit though, almost every restaurant I tried there with my brother was good. They do have good food there. Great 👍🏻 Vlog, BTW!!

I'm excited that you and Alexa are doing the New York trip together. Fun! $300/night for bunkbeds? No. I'm sure that is cheap though for a hotel room. The food sounded great but it's cool the wait staff has to audition to work there. There have probably been a few that were discovered while performing there. Time Square and the skate rink were cool. The s'more looked cool. I'm excited for this series and your take on New York. I always love your videos Kyle.
So glad you've made it to NYC and are having a good start to your trip!! I love seeing the reaction of first-time visitors to NYC; they're always overwhelmed and can't believe how big things are. It's awesome! If you have time, I suggest taking the D train up to Fordham Road in the Bronx and visiting both the Bronx Zoo and the NY Botanical Gardens. Especially in the spring, they're both beautiful. And of course, across the street from both is Fordham University, my alma mater! I just love NY and I hope you do too! PS. If you are definitely going back solo, I suggest going at Christmas time!!

The Moxy reminds me of a place I stayed at on the Upper West Side but nicer. It’s totally trendy.
I’m not too far in age from you and I would “answer” the same way as you. That phone would be easier for the young generation to figure out than a more traditional spin dial.

Welcome to NY Alexa & Kyle! Can't wait to see all that you are going to do and see! We usually stay in White Plains and take the train to the city - cheaper and bigger rooms that way. But when I go for work - we stay in Times Square. Nothing quite like NY! Just know that all of NY isn't like that - Upstate in some places we have more cows that people :) Just like you can't do all of Disney in one trip - NY will beckon you back! Loved this blog! I’m from MD so BWI airport is one of my main airports (and my fave), NYC is my happy place (I’m a huge Broadway fan and have seen over 100 shows in NYC alone) and I work for Marriott so I’m loving the Moxy footage! Hope you’re enjoying the city and can’t wait for tomorrow’s vlog!
I love your travel vlogs! Moxy reminds me a lot of the W hotels from the lobby area until you get into the room. Tiny but nice! Can't wait to see the rest of yours and Alexa's adventure out there! If you decide to do a solo trip back to NYC, please look into staying at Staypineapple New York hotel. I try to stay at a Pineapple hotel any time I'm in a city that has one. I haven't had a chance to stay at the NY one so I'm so curious to see how you would review them. 😁

Funny, I get routed through Baltimore most times too - Hi Alexa!! Holy cow dude, that security line was crazy - I love TSA pre-check. Happy for you they didn't enforce masks at the airport - it's still a mandate in NY on transportation. That is a different room (has a hostel vibe to me) but when in NYC, the room is only for brief sleep!! Yes, I know how to use that phone - I'm old. There's always a line @ Star Dust and the food, oh the food 😂 👍

Omg, so happy you and your sister are finally in New York! My sister and I love your videos. We are from New York. If you both get the chance and wanna travel to Astoria queens, it’s really close to Manhattan. There are lots of restaurants there and lots of doggies.Also if you like cookies, you should try chip city. They have awesome flavors. :) enjoy your trip and hope your family is doing well
Welcome to NYC :) Highly recommend starting downtown in Financial District and walking up Broadway. You'll see so many landmarks and pass through different parts of the city. Also recommend walking around West Village and walking the high line.
I would still wear a mask on any jet flight.People are seated in way too close proximity and you never know if someone wasn't raised correctly and doesn't sneeze into their sleeve or sneeze towards the ground. I am fully vaccinated and boostered. I would wear my mask and every so often I would pull it down to get a nice big breath.
Hi Kyle and Alexa, there’s so much to do here in NYC! Enjoy there’s always a Broadway show, the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock. Food there are so many good places! Bond 45 is one of our favorites!! Also you can walk across the Brooklyn bridge to Manhattan from Brooklyn and take the NYC ferry which is the same price as train or bus fare which is 2.75! Enjoy 😉
Wow, so much to comment on! Love seeing Alexa again! I've always wanted to go to New York, so I'm happy that you both are there and sharing it with us. Definitely do the TSA Pre-check, it's worth every penny! Loved the Stardust and now really want to go there! And the Stash! What a great way to take care of those incidentals. Love how quirky that place is. Enjoy!
Ahhh mannnn.....you just made me realize how much I miss NYC. Gave it 13yrs of my 40yo life and they were 13 great yrs for the most part. Try to go to one of the observatories to get a great view of NY. I heard THE EDGE is really cool and not too expensive. Also, I believe the Empire State Bldg. was ORANGE & BLUE, most likely because the Mets won that day. That is all, keep posting amazing content man!!

If you are able to get a reservation, definitely try Nobu. It’s a really good sushi Restraunt and it’s a must try when visiting New York. It is reservations only and many people book months in advance so I don’t think you’ll get in but it’s worth trying

I'm from Virginia, but I went to NYC for New Year's 2019. My friend's mom worked in the high-rise behind where the ball drops. So a group of us got to party in the office and watch all the performances from up high. And we were right behind the ball when it dropped. I think it's called Time Square Tower. You zoomed in on it and I'm like "I was right up there!". I cackled when you said the city smells like dog diarrhea. It most certainly does. Hope you guys have fun while you're in NYC!

LOVE me some Big Apple! Pre-pandemic I’d go over a few times a year from WV riding the overnight Megabus out of Pittsburgh. Always caught a couple of Broadway shows, hit a museum, and see something new every time: Washington Square Arch, ride the Staten Island Ferry round-trip, visit the 9/11 Memorial and museum, the Flatiron Building, Grand Central Terminal, Junior’s for the cheesecake, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity Church cemetery, etc. and that was just highlights from a couple of trips. Sooo much to see and do, can’t wait to hit it again!
So VERY long since last time I got to go to NYC! ENJOY!! You are going to love "Preflight." Thank you for the views from LGA!! It really is nice!! Room is interesting....in my experience (former road-warrior) most hotel rooms in the city are pretty small compared to other destinations. Remeber to fold your pizza!

Went to NY in 2019 and this is bringing back so many memories. We did actually hire a car from JFK so that we could drive out to an air show. Most stressful drive of my life when I was driving on the right hand side for the first time as well!
NYC heyyyy! I actually work at Museum of Ice Cream (though I'm leaving for tech school) and it's mad cute, I hope to see you drop by! (I work Th-Suns if you're around that long). It's no Disney Park but it's mad cute and everyone is super nice!!! And it's a small city so I hope to run into you, hahah. Also, tip: Yellow taxis are way cheaper than Lyft and Uber nowadays! Go yellow taxi if and when you can!

Glad you are getting precheck. I would also recommend Clear. SO fast getting through tsa. For pizza I would go to John’s Times Square! For the food and the atmosphere!

Please be safe .. subway is a little sketchy but please know although you are visiting the best city .. it is not at its best .. so please make sure to come back because as good as you think it is .. it is usually so much better .. ( the past 4 years have been rough) and July is much warmer ..come back when it’s safer and warmer and visit Central Park zoo.. boathouse , mall.. conservatory lake .. beautiful !!

If you fly through JFK or LGA, u could get downtown Manhattan as cheap as $12 (airtram $9 +Subway $2.75 through the subway) or up to $20 through LIRR. Depending of your schedule, and there week of april 24, yankees or mets game. Be sure to checkout the Harry potter NYC in the flatiron. Exclusive NYC HP merchandise that you might not see in universal orlando. There is also a DIsney store in Times Square

Also, the smells of the city can get rough...when I started commuting to Brooklyn I quickly learned to breathe through my mouth to help manage it (especiallyon the subway!) Applying chapstick frequently helps some too!! Haha!!!
I like the room. All hotel rooms in New York are small, so I usually look for areas that seem safe and comfortable. Have fun guys!
I would love to see you both going to Vegas and staying at the Cosmopolitan. Stay at the Boulevard tower and have the corner balcony room facing Bellagio direction. Such a fun room and view! I never been to New York but love to someday.

Holy cow! Boy did NYC do a great job refurbishing LaGuardia Airport. It used to be a real dump!!!! We just came back from 8 days in Palm Springs (no, didn't attend Coachella). Flying now is a hassle -- our outbound flight was 2 hours delayed because the other airline (not Southwest) forgot to schedule a pilot for our plane. Best part of flying is when you can get a non-stop flight. Kyle, those aren't coat hangers, those are the hooks for your clothes because it appears that there's no closets to hang clothing. $300/night for THAT room is why I am not a fan of NYC any longer (I used to work on Wall Street, btw). A friend of mine had a 600 square foot apartment in Greenwich Village for about $1400/month. And that was 20 years ago!

I used to visit NYC every year from Miami pre pandemic. I went last year (2021) and felt like the magic was gone. Possibly because I'm almost 30 now and of course post lockdowns . I found a bag of literally human feces ( i think lol) at a starbucks bathroom and sadly many many more homeless in the streets. I never felt unsafe but just felt so different. I hope you feel the magic of this beautiful and welcoming city on your trip though! I could just be jaded lol
Nope your right lol! I live here and it’s not the same. Human feces everywhere. I’ve even seen a lady doing number 2 on the sidewalk. Eww but anyways there’s nothing like the city! It’s like a love hate relationship haha

You're in my town or should I say my neighboring town I live in New Jersey but I frequent New York City a lot. Make sure when you're in New York City to go to the metropolitan museum of art on 5th avenue. You could spend a whole day there and it's fascinating. Tons of interesting stuff from all over the world they even have mummies. Also do not miss Little Italy and Chinatown. They're walking distance from each other and you could eat in either one and have great food. Lots of little souvenir shops in the area as well. Enjoy our New York City and blog it well.

Cool seeing the new LGA upgrades. Born in Nyc moved to Orlando 10 years ago and worked in LGA at Delta shuttle as a lead ramp agent. Need to go back soon and see family and friends and hang out at flushing meadow park.

You can save money on your journey home by taking the subway to Queensboro station or all the way to the end of the line in Astoria/Ditmars line and getting a Lyft from there 👍🏼
that's AWESOME you came to my airport, Baltimore (BWI)! I love the Southwest Terminal too. If you fly back via Baltimore, you would like Flying Dog Tap House just to the right after you pass TSA. Great Beers! if you have more time, Miss Shirley's is one of the best breakfast places I've ever been to. Try their stuffed French Toast, you will be pleased :)

We just visited our daughter in Manhattan. Stayed at a Hampton Inn on 39th between 8th & 9th. Had a blast! The Lyft drivers are terrifying! Dined at Loring Place in Greenwich Village. Incredible food. Saw Jersey Boys. Went to the Today Show. Can't wait to go back!
I stayed at Moxy in NYC a few years ago, it was great, comfy and affordable and a cute space for the two of us.
Oh Kyle if this is you in NYC I want a 24/7 camera on you when you go to Tokyo!!!! Overwhelming, overstimulated and jet lag!!! Takes 5 days there to remember who you are. I can't wait for the rest of this series!!!!
I find it hilarious that I live in the Hudson Valley and I still haven't done a staycation in NYC, def need to get there soon though. You beat me living in Orlando! I look forward to seeing everything you do! That hotel is definitely not for me (late 30s with a kid) but I would have loved it when I was in my 20s like you.

I live in Baltimore! And my dad worked at BWI for 26 years as an electrician. I spent a lot of time there as a kid, so seeing that part of the vlog made me so happy!
