The Taylor 114e Walnut electro acoustic guitar is brand new for 2017. This beautifully crafted Grand Auditorium electro-acoustic guitar is a fantastic addition to Taylor’s 100 series and features a resonant Sitka Spruce top, lush Walnut back and sides and the renowned ES2 preamp system to provide a professional level, beautiful sounding guitar at budget friendly prices.
The Expression System 2 Electronics utilises a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design to accurately capture all the lush dynamics of the guitar and the individuality of the Walnut back and sides.
The Taylor 114E Electro-Acoustic (Walnut) Grand Auditorium features a forward shifted pattern bracing that allows for more resonance within the Sitka Spruce top creating a much louder acoustic guitar than others of this size. Overall, this is a fantastic players guitar ideal for all skill levels, and one that will only get better with age.

Went in to the guitar shop today and this was the first acoustic I played. It was just terrific! Bought that shit up quick and couldn't be happier!
I got my 114E over 15 years ago and it just keeps getting better. It has a nice balanced tone, not as boomy and bass heavy as other guitars. I know some players like a more bass heavy tone but I don't. The thinner waist gives a nice even tone. All in all worth every penny.
I have a model from 2015 and it's one of the best purchases of my life. Sounds great for the money and has helped me so much better at guitar being an adult beginner.
This is a superbly crafted video; like other viewers, I also like the guitar playing at the beginning. I bought this guitar yesterday and I'm delighted with it so far. I went to the music store intending to buy another guitar but I kept coming back to this one. I was blown away by its beautiful tone - especially at the base end. I wouldn't have expected layered walnut to sound that good but it really, really is.
I tried this in store last week. Has a surprisingly good sound for a laminate back and sides. The easiest to play out of all the guitars I tried as well.
Taylor never fails to bring an awesome sounding guitar to the market!!
I don't think the 114 has ever sounded better. It's insane what you can get today with little money. Or rather, you don't have to spend big or go vintage for a great tone. I played this 114 just yesterday and I couldn't put it down! In addition to its tone, it's just so damn comfortable to play.
Indeed. I'm thinking of purchasing one, but still looking for the catch. It's under 800 euros. Can't believe that price.
I couldn’t agree more, I recently went to my local shop and picked up a bunch of acoustics, mainly grabbing only guitars above the $1000+ price range, until I saw this guitar and decided to give it a go, and to my surprise I was my favorite guitar of that day this is compared to other Taylor’s, martins, Gibson’s, and a few other miscellaneous brands. There was just something about this guitar, I just didn’t want to put it down
I bought my Taylor 114 brand new from my local guitar store back in early 2013. The Sunburst edition. No electronics, and no cutaway to rob tone or volume. It feels and plays like my Strat. The action is so low, so easy to play, sounds amazing and she's aging beautifully.
Very Nice!!! I Would Love This!!!!
Played this in-store today. Didn’t want to put it down.
Same here, and I couldn't. Had to leave with it.
My only complaint with this guitar is that it's way to bright when plugged in. I use an Lr baggs venue di to get more of a dreadnought sound.
Man you're about to play one of my favorites from Sister Hazel right there at 2:46 🤣
Clean.
I have several guitars...one is a Yamaha A3R all solid dread....but I'm thinking about selling it for one of these in walnut....crazy? maybe.
When you say it's mic'd, you mean externally, right? It sounds gorgeous with the "mic'd" option and rather tinny with the "Taylor expression system" which seems unfortunate if you are referring to an external mic. Why have a plug in at all, then... :/
I played it in Chile two hours ago, I didn't have a great expectative cause was a Mexican one but it was undoubtedly amazing!!!!
Great souding guitar - played my first Taylor yesterday .... wow. I have been missing out on life !!
BTW .... what's the Chords progression you are playing in the first demo section ... is it a song ? I really like that combi
I'm debating on getting this one or Taylor's Academy 12e . I'm looking for a good folky singer songwriter finger picking guitar. They both sound amazing to me.
Get this one. Academy's are for beginners.
@@TheAustinGuy What is the definition of a beginner guitar for you?
Hi!
I've first owned an Academy 12 E and recently bought this 114 E.
Before selling the Academy , I've had the opportunity to play both at the same time.
These two guitars are awesome but, in my opinion, despite the fact that the Academy could be a bit more comfortable for a beginner (smaller body, armrest), the 114 E, with its terrific look I love soooo much, sounds a bit brighter with a longer sustain, and overall sounds much better plugged with its Expression preamp.
As the price difference is not "that big" (150€ or 200$ in France), don't hesitate and purchase this Taylor 114E. Peace.
For posterity's sake, and future readers. Academy guitars have a slightly smaller scale and different body size and depth, not just being slightly cheaper. Read the specs compared to a 100 series before buying too avoid surprises
This was the first guitar I ever bought
Whats the price?
@@arshdeepsaluja1376 I financed it through the music store I got it, I believe around 850 cad
I mean you commented this 2 years ago, but I’m looking at getting a guitar and have done some research and I think I’m closing in on this one. What are your thoughts on it?
@@jaycub1234 it's a great starter guitar, my only regret is I should have got the cutaway version
Which is better gs mini e or 114 e
Damn bro you on them addys
Take it easy
the buzz sucks on the b string and on the high e can't U hear it ?
Can anybody tell me what is the size of the body? I have no chance to see this in person because of where I am at now.
Getting this guitar is by buying overseas. Really want to know if it is appropriate size for I am a small to medium built.
Yup its definitely no big dreadnought...will definitely fit you
It's a grand auditorium I have one. I love it! you should get it for sure
I just got one and I’m literally in love you should definitely get one! I’m also a small built and it fits well
I’ve even unable to decide on an acoustic in this price range . After months I’ve settled on this guitar it’s the best value and out plays more expensive guitars
Which strings do you use in the video?
They're Elixer Phospher light gauge strings
I am an idiot. I just bought the 214ce (not delux) and it sounds way to metallic and tinny. I just played the 114ew and sounds so much better. FML.
Been there.
I bought the 214ce-DLX and my mate bought this 114 2 weeks later and I couldn’t believe how much I preferred his. For nearly half the price.
I bought the 114e last year and it's been so nice too me! Stays in tune well, has a beautiful sound, feels comfortable too hold, that body shape vibrates in my hands super well! First Taylor I have bought and it's great!
Any good sounding amps for this guitar?
No the pick up in the bridge sucks its cheep and no amp can correct for that
Whats the difference between the 114e and the 114ce
i beleive the "c" means it has the cut out. I played the e today and didn't find it difficult to reach any fret without the cut out but thats just me
At this price point this guitar is nearly unmatched. It sounds absolutely incredible. Unlike Larrivee. The D40 is almost twice the price of this guitar (114e) and half the sound quality.
Taylor makes great guitars 👍
Has somewhat of a tinny sound. Maybe it's the mic
No it is a bit tinny. However, really good sounding steel strings are just ridiculously expensive.
Sounds like you need to have your ears checked.
I've got this awesome gui tar I really love this sweet girl
just tried one most amazing guitar i have heard in a while but the frets are garbage literally thin scratchy garbage

Wow... the electronics sound horrible. :(
😂
made in mexico
and?
Viva Mexico brother!
suena horrible
U all need to listen before buying this cheesy electric component installed in this nice guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Electronics sound really bad on this. My Alhambra guitar which is much cheaper has a much better sound unplugged and plugged in.
