@Quirin M. im a student so i dont have a lot money extra. And i just bought a car with takes most of my money. Id have the money to a buy the bike but dont got the money to ride it
Recently bought a 01 kx125 for about $400 that I am currently restoring thanks to your videos. I've always enjoyed fixing old bikes up, but doing this one from the frame up. Awesome work and dedication and great videos!
Thanks Vasily. It depends on the type of riding the higher the compression you will get much better bottom and mid range but you will loose a little off the top. Great for any track or situation where you are accelerating consistently. Did you put one on the shifter kart?
Awesome build mate, I loved the series. It's unfortunate but restoring dirtbikes will always be a labour of love with very little to no profit in it. It is still an absolutely sick bike though.
Same price as a brand new 125 almost, but this is a lot cleaner, cooler, one of a kind factory looking bike. As an 03, it Possibly performs bettter, than say a new SX or YZ125, idk. I hate working on bikes, so this much blood, sweat, and tears building it would never be worth it to me.
Stock bike versus a pro level fully worked up bike for the cost... I'd build a bike the way you want and trick it out, a stock bike even new is still stock. Start with a good platform (2006 or newer yz250) (2003-2007 cr250r with 05-07 preferred). Suzuki can be okay as well if you like great turning bike but the build quality isn't as great. Kawasaki have super nice engines but they feel awkward compared to a honda.
We ended up doing a lot of aftermarket racing parts on the bike and that’s where a lot of the additional cost came from. Most of these parts were sponsored though
Everyone bitching in the comments obviously never done a build themselves. It's not about the cost it's about seeing it finished and looking as good as this does. I applaud you and your efforts great build 👏
What you plan on doing with the old shock and fmf I think they’d look great on my 96 cr I’m in the process of building and also in the process of recording my “tear down” video for my channel I hope to get up and running. I could really put those parts to good use. If you think they will fit my bike and would be willing to sell it, we could definitely do some business. Get back with me if you’d be interested. Also, Great video as always as I have been keeping up with this build from the start. Keep it up man. 💯💪🏽
Great video. This channel is way underappreciated. One question, what is the substance you are putting on the screws in the linkage before bolting them?
Hello, can you tell me if it is possible to find a cr125 piston in the 55 mm measurement? I await your return, as this is difficult to find here in Brazil
Anyone wanna sponsor me for some wheels for my 1986 cr500 restoration? Haha. But bike came out awesome man, love seeing this amount of work and detail going into a bike. I usually spend more time restoring bikes than I do riding. Spent a few months on my bike, didnt spend quite as much as this build but costs add up fast for sure. Hope to keep this bike for some time, everyone needs to own a 500 at least once in their lifetime haha. Hope to have a 125/250 like this one again soon as well. Long live 2 strokes!
Nice build the CR looks incredible!! Have you thought about putting 47mm showa forks on it and another question is that new shock all stock and are the current forks all stock as in the valving? Just curious.
Thank you Eric! I have though about putting new front forks on the bike but had already put a decent amount of money into the bike and it’s hard to get sponsored for used forks.
@@adampaganelli4891 hey I understand the sponsor thing, I'm my own sponsor!! LOL!! If you can swing it get the Race Tech gold valves and do it yourself and look on E-Bay or go to oemcycle.com and check their prices out for these. I'm not at all fussed though, it doesn't effect my life but it's an odd world indeed sir.
some cant see that getting a 250cc dirt bike for $700 ends up costing $5'500 to get running good and $18'000 to fix up for a show. some people get snappy and say things as if they could do the work themselves, so they don't want to pay for time... ''thinking verses doing'' they think of doing it but they think to much, that leads to thinking that they can or have done it... then you get guys that show up to the work site... they say they know what they are doing, but just like the bachelor sweet they rent... everything sits in a pile of other rusting metal for 20 or more years before they finely do anything with it.
Nice bike for sure but if I had that much money to spend on rebuilding a bike....i would definitely just buy a new one..i want to say that you may be hard pressed to get that money back if you sell it...still a sweet bike!
