I got into a hide and seek with a State Police helicopter on October 30 as I was taking shots of the autumn colors in a county park that I had flown in before after clearing it with the park management. Before I took off, I did my normal preflight, check the weather, check Autopylot, check NOTAM’s with FAA, and check the equipment. While in the air, I heard loud helicopter sounds near by, but I couldn’t acquire him visually or with ADS-B. I also didn’t see any emergency equipment in the area. So, I did what I normally do in those circumstances, I got very low and close. Then, he overflew my position at 200 feet, and I expected that that was that. As I could still hear him close by, I switched to the very low altitude part of my flight plan and went under some trees for a shot I had planned to get. Unexpectedly, he came back and circled before flying away which is something they almost never do. That’s when I decided to land and pack up. I could still hear him in the area, and I didn’t like the vibes. Just I as I got down and was starting to get stuff put away, he came over for another pass and circled again. As I was dragging the pad off of the field in case he needed to land, he flew off. So, I got packed up and waited for cops to show up. They never did, so I put my Mavic 3 Pro in the air and finished the shoot. I don’t know what that was about, but one of the people in the park complimented me on my flying skills which was a first.

You likely got the treatment you did because they rather get you in compliance and tell your story so others will benefit

"You don't have to register if your drone is sub 250 grams." UNLESS you are going to be using it under Part 107 rules (anything not purely recreational).
You are very lucky. To fly a drone in a TFR is a no no but I am assuming they didn’t ask for your Part 107 credentials. I topped out at 35mph and averaged around 25-28mph
Remote ID ratted you out. Never heard of somebody actually running into an FAA agent let alone too. Must have been an issue down there that weekend with drones
Correct, I registered on the spot with the gentleman there. I show them the screen which stated that I could fly, but it had to be under 150ft... it didn't say it was any TFR in place. They gave me apps to use, to know if I could fly.
@@cre8taMiltwhat apps did they share with you?
@jcn4017 Air Control and Air Aware
Facts, I’m an airline pilot I had an FAA inspector on the Jumpseat told him I did drone work also which he was interested in as he was a maintenance inspector, he said most of their enforcement is from people posting the evidence on social media they don’t have the man power to investigate and prosecute. You likely got the treatment you did because they rather get you in compliance and tell your story so others will benefit
Doesn't even have to do with Remote ID, anyone that observes a drone flying where they are not supposed to can report you. It takes just minutes to report to the local FSDO. Happy flying!
These are the people who ruin it for everyone. I call them the Best Buy Drone pilots.
@stihlpro2401 Mistakes are made fam, if you make none, then feel free to judge. If I ruined it for the entire USA.... my bad.
Ok you government bootlicker. We don’t want the government telling us when and where we can fly. Our hobby has already been restricted past the point of reason
That was a good video. Typically I guess we have almost the same passion. So far I love doing action chases. That's what I do with my DJI drones on my channel. Stop by and check a few out and tell me what you think. I liked the way you put yours together where did you get the music from?
@SgtJamesRay I'll check you out, just subscribed....I got it from Arlist.io
@@cre8taMilt
Ditto and thanks
Ya they killed my droin right over the ocean off the pier. Say good by to 900.00
You don't have to register if your drone is sub 250 grams.
"You don't have to register if your drone is sub 250 grams."
UNLESS you are going to be using it under Part 107 rules (anything not purely recreational).
nice job Cap
You are very lucky. To fly a drone in a TFR is a no no but I am assuming they didn’t ask for your Part 107 credentials. As well as the fact that you are flying an FPV without a spotter which is also a big no no according to FAA regulations. Anytime you make a video for any purpose apart from personal recreational use. FAA regulations state you need to be Part 107 certified.
Yeah, I know, learned a lot from it.
You can still post on social media, including RUclips as a recreational flyer as long as you are not monetized on that platform.....correct?? or incorrect?
Incorrect, because RUclips are making money out of your video!
@ I don’t believe that’s correct. They don’t put commercials on videos if they’re not monetized.
@@paradoxicalcat7173 thats incorrect. intent of flight is what comes into play here. There are other reasons he should have his 107 in this scenario, but a recreational flyer can post to their social media as long as its not monetized and they can even sell their footage if solicited later as long as they can prove that it was not their original intent.
Are you using the goggles with the Air 3s?
@@skyfoxfpv621 No, the RC-2 but with my Avata 2, I do.
Wow I’m sorry but it’s 101…
$hit happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this a drone video or donut shop video. I swear my people don’t know how to edit and stay on point, unnecessary long intros etc
I pray that you gain patience one day, and know they what you give will come back to you. Thanks for the critique, and I appreciate that you even watched anything here. Be blessed🙏🏾
This is actually a really informative video and something anyone flying in the USA should know about.... let's see your videos!? Oh wait u dont have any....
You cannot fly over a crowd of people so since they were throwing a boat show you you should not have flew over them. I got that on lock bro. I never fly over people when they are having an event.
@@ClarenceSteward-x7f per the agents, I could've, with prop guards and no tfr
What do you expect from an idiot?
actually the law says a flight can take place traversing over them. you can rephrase it all you want. its perfectly legal. now buzz off.
Pretty ridiculous you can't fly over a boat show. It's not like it's a "crowd" of people. Unless they're all touching you're more likely to hit water than anything.
@@cre8taMilt as of January 15th, 2021, you cannot fly over people without a waiver from the FAA and that waver is required to be under Part 107. The exception to this is if the aircraft weighs less than .55 lbs. but the DJI Air 3S weighs 1.59 pounds so to fly that over people requires a waiver.
