- The 2023 science fiction rescue adventure from South Korea. This is a beautiful steelbook which comes with an identical Blu-ray in addition to the 4K although the Blu-ray is not as good quality as the 4K of course. Image aspect ratio is 1.85:1 and sound is Dolby Atmos. This release cost £27.99 from HMV.

Oh, I will love seeing your photos Michael. There are many of us with home cinemas around the world and it's always interesting to see other interpretations. To many it's a telly with a surround sound system but they're interesting to see and learn about too.

I wouldn't normally review such a niche market release all on its own Tony but because people had asked me to review it I thought I'd just get it done. That's why it's a shorter video than usual. John.
Great review John! Had never heard of this film, so thanks for highlighting this.
I personally find with subtitle films it makes you fully concentrate on the whole film and not be tempted to take a quick peek at your phone or other distractions.
Glad it has english subtitles as dubbed is just off putting to me as the actors lips are not moving in time with the audio and once I notice it, that is all I end up focusing on weirdly.
The only downside of your channel is I keep adding to my list of film purchases, ha ha!
The dubbing into English in this is awful Monty. The disc bloody well defaults to it though which is terrible because many people will simply watch it like that and probably think it's a dreadful movie as a result. If you do get a copy remember that you have to select the Korean sound and English subtitles before you tell it to play.
By the way, having this channel keeps costing me too. But if I hadn't started it just over four years ago there are a lot of movies I would not have seen so it's been brilliant in that regard and great fun to converse with like-minded enthusiasts in the comments too.

Bought this today along with Wages Of Fear when I got home your notification had popped up going to view Moon and and this video over the weekend. The steel book is beautiful.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did Mike. And 'Wages Of Fear', that's a great French film. If you've seen the re-imagining of it from William Friedkin 'Sorcerer' then you'll know the sort of tense viewing you're going to have.

It's such a nice bit of bling this time Henri. I'm not usually bothered much about such things but this time it seems to enhance the overall enjoyment of the silver disc of joy contained within.

Short and sweet. This is a movie I was seriously considering buying and after seeing this video I'll definitely pull the trigger on it now. Everything about that edition looks deluxe and I think it would be fitting in my collection. Thank you for the heads up on this John
Evening Keith. I just watched your review of The Haunting. I haven't watched that film for years but that is because I didn't much like it. The original film was so much better but probably doesn't have such impressive sound... to say the least. I hope you like The Moon though. Just don't try to watch it with that bloody awful English dub because it has got to be the worst attempt at it that I've ever seen and heard.

@@moviecollector5920 The Haunting was one of those movies that I rather enjoyed back when it first came out and not a whole lot has changed except now it looks better than ever. But it is the audio that's the game changer. Yeah I will bear that in mind when I pick up the moon. I thought the trailer looked very decent to it as well so I've been looking for an excuse
Checkout Moon 2009 4k, I think you'll like it.
Also Aliens 4k review needed.... I was very impressed with it's release. Though some might dislike the lack of film grain I think it looks amazing
I'll take a look at Aliens on 4K video disc eventually Pete but I'm not keen on paying £25 for something I'll only dip into for a video on here. I have two copies of it on film so nothing will ever replace those. I have mentioned the 2009 Moon film in a previous video. I have the Blu-ray and that's good enough but I'm sure the 4K is even better. John.

That little postcard is such a nice, low cost addition and so simple to do. I've not seen that idea before.

check out the series For All Mankind which features an entire season set on the moon and one episode where they are stuck watching re-runs of the Bob Newhart show. Really great show, high production quality too.
I've never heard of 'For All Mankind'. I'll have to look for it but I don't seem to be getting any time for series these days which is a shame. I actually gave up on telly back in 2010 but still watched some of the best series via DVD and Blu-ray but the past six months, not a thing.

@@moviecollector5920 prestige TV has replaced some films in a way with these kind of shows having the budgets of big tentpole movies. Shogun is another example which was better than most films released this year.

Two videos in one week,...Marvelous! My wife is very into Korean things, not so much me. I wasn't expecting this film to be your next topic, probably because I'm eager to hear your thoughts on First Blood. Nevertheless..interesting.
The Moon is quite a new release Timothy so I thought it made sense to cover it now. I've seen First Blood before and as it's a timeless, well loved classic, I don't think there's any rush to review it. But I'll get to it soon. John.

Have a look at reviews for Cinema Paradiso and True Romance/Tremors Nathan. I have done a review of Carlito's Way but not the version issued by Arrow Films. I think Robocop was an Arrow release too so there's another one. The Last Emperor was a film I'd never seen until the 4K arrived but I didn't exactly think it was brilliant so couldn't motivate myself to do a review. Perhaps I will one day. I think American Werewolf in London is a terrific film but I didn't feel the need to purchase a 4K because when that arrived I'd only recently watched the Blu-ray. Could be a 4K purchase and review for the future.

It's not worth watching if you can't get past the subtitles Roy. The dubbing into English is so awful though that maybe it's worth seeing just to fully comprehend how bad it is.
