True. The NBA champ Steph Curry is a product of hard work, patience and perseverance. AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. IN FACT, IT'S INSPIRI NG AND ADMIRABLE. So what's wrong if he's not a "generational talent"? He was blessed with "some talent" and he honed and polished that and maximized that. Kinda like what happened to Kobe. Only difference is Kobe created the image of a "an intense, merciless killer" while Steph created an image of a "relaxed, smiling, baby faced assassin".
Bruh it’s not that it’s “difficult to grasp” we understand what he said we just disagree😂. I think he’s not looking at stephs shooting ability in the right scope, I get what he’s saying athletically/physically wise but that’s not the only piece to a generational talent. No one has ever shot on and off the ball like curry has.

Would Bird not be generational considering he was barely above the run of the mill athlete in his era. John Wall would have a case to be generational in his way of thinking and that’s no blemish on John Wall respectfully. Would CP3 & Rondo not be generational, how about Nash, Kidd, & Zeke?? I think Gil’s stance in the argument is better understood as gifted physical specimens rather than a classification of generational athletes. A generational talent can be athletes possessing rare intangibles and mental toughness that pushed MJ, Kobe, Curry, Greek Freak, Jokic, Dirk, Luka, Kawhi, Kyrie, Harden, Shai, Ray Allen, and plenty more to some of the best displays of generational skills in their craft. I can’t subscribe to the limitation of generational athletes to outliers of development at a young age such as Zion, Lebron, Yao, Shaq, etc. Plenty of other athletes in different pro sports I would argue have a generational understanding of their craft and are able to process mentally what read to make against a coverage scheme ex Brady, Manning, Brees, etc.
Thinking about it, Gil and Pat would make for an interesting coaching duo for a team 🤔

A generation is just a period of time, therefore a generational talent is just one of the most talented people in that period. Height and weight aren’t talent. There are people Wembys size or Shaq that have no “talent”. The talent is skill. Generational talent is not what you are explaining. That’s just freak of nature. The talent is in what you can do. There is literally no one else in the NBA that can shoot like Steph. You can’t teach that hand eye coordination.
