I love Kenyon's point about doing the work. I once worked in a clinic run by a former Military police officer. Could his verbal delivery be nicer, sure. But he wasn't wrong. I think 24 had more to prove and a bigger chip on his shoulder. The biggest memory that Kobe said haunted him was the narrative that he was a sidekick and can’t win without Shaq. So everything he did from the moment he changed his number after Shaq left was him completely evolving to a perfect player. 8 had flaws, 24 was perfection.
