While their kits are different, Agudo has a similar feel with Ishar. You know, little girls, having big creature assistant (named Furball too)? Aside of that, they have different kit. Agudo specializes in jungle, Ishar is either mid or roamer.
Allain is generally similar but there are some differences that make him tankier in HOK. However, his ult is slightly changed, it's targeting system is now like Errol's (he doesn't home to his target, so he has to move the landing point manually)
Arthur in HOK has a different lore (it's specified that his sword is Excalibur, AOV Arthur's sword has a different name. I forgot), and he's also with a shield (AOV Arthur does not have one), but kit-wise, yeah same. But they're different characters, it's not like Allain and Butterfly who's the same character lore-wise.
Ata originally was Zhu Bajie. But due to regional issues, he had to be replaced.
Athena is original, but she used to have a Wonder Woman skin in CN before the DC contract ran out. Since AOV is also replacing DC heroes these days (though they delay it to celebrate HOK Global, by adding more HOK heroes), I think I see a potential that they'll just bring Athena to AOV, and refit her skills to replace Wonder Woman's.
Historically, Butterfly's kit used to be in HOK, used by a hero who hasn't been ported to global. Her name is Arke (as seen in Gao's bio), but later on, she gets revamped into the moveset that would be transferred to Quillen.
I think I'll excuse you from making that early Dynasty Warriors mistake of using English spelling style, so instead of T'sao T'sao, it's Cow Cow. It's still pretty endearing to me tho. Cao Cao, though, is a revamped Lu Bu. He has a system where after using his skill, he can shoot out one sword beam that extends his normal attack range. He can stack up to 5 beams. Lu Bu in AOV doesn't have that yet, but I think it's a matter of time until he does.
Yes, Charlotte is a 1-on-1 copy, ported to AOV. She doesn't play like Florentino. Not gonna be surprised if they decided to add Florentino into HOK later.
Da Qiao uses a 4-skill map, whereas Rouie had to use one of her skills first before she can use another.
Daji, yeah, same with Veera. Except that she's not an evil (bleep!). Even compared to her origin.
Valhein did get a rework, but it's still different. The similarity is that both Di Renjie and Valhein used to share a similar kit, but Di Renjie got reworked into who he is at the moment, and then Valhein got his own different rework.
The actual difference between Arum and Donghuang is just on their moral stance. Arum is an okay lady, Donghuang is... basically a watered down AOV Lorion.
If you don't know, Dun is supposed to be XIAHOU Dun, one of Cao Cao's trusted generals who only had one eye. I have NO idea why they removed the Xiahou though.
Gan & Mo had more precise skill set. Ult is basically activating Yue's passive so it's easier to control. They have a 4-skill map, and Yue's ult is mapped as a normal skill for them (the escape one). So I think they can escape more often. The tradeoff is that Gan & Mo has melee normal attack. It's strong, but not what you look for from a nuker.
Okay, Garo and Tel'Annas has a similar origin. In CN, when Garo was in beta testing, she was actually using Tel'Annas skillset. But Tencent later decided to release her with a new kit. Some of them still felt like Tel'Annas. Like her S1 looked like a more spammable Tel ult, and they have a range extension skill.
Guan Yu's S1 hits on a circle and has higher damage, but only has 1 charge. Superman has two charges, but only hits half a circle and deals less damage. And the flying one I think has smaller hitbox than Guan Yu's leap and slash?
Hou Yi has one difference with Laville: His S2. It's taken from Yorn's own S2 (shoot to the sky and then a blast comes from there). Laville's S2 is taken from HOK's Wukong (the anti-CC shield).
Both Kaizer and Amily can switch between Exp lane and jungle. Still, their difference is pretty minor: Kaizer seems to have more defense points, which is why his designation is Fighter/Tank, not Amily's Fighter/Assassin. (Same with Dharma and Qi)
Azzen'Ka hasn't gotten the same rework that shaped Lady Zhen, but I'm gonna say he will in the future.
It's generally known that Murad is goddamn broken that he even surpassed Li Bai. For starters, Li Bai's dash does not generate stack if it does not hit a target unlike Murad. That one difference becomes the key of how powerful Murad becomes.
Liu Shan was basically the old Omega before he got revamped. But they do have similar feels.
From my playing experience, Mozi also works well as a mid-laner, but sometimes also played as support. Trying to do mid-Gildur is going to get you flamed, I think.
Personal preference, but Mulan has one key difference that makes me prefer her than Yena: Her voice direction is a lot better. Yena's voice just sounds so... dead.
And Pei... he's only similar in spirit with Liliana (Hero transform to animal) and... that's it, really. Pei is a jungler, Liliana is a mage. Both have different kits, only similar in 'transform to animal, change skillset'.
Batman and Lanling already differed slightly with how Lanling has a 4-Skill map, and he can use his invisibility at will, rather than being linked with the ult. After Batman became Kaine, he's getting more like Dota's Riki, as in being automatically invisible after awhile. Lanling does not have that.
While fundamentally different, there's one key difference between Shangguan and Zata: Shangguan does not need to stop and do a normal attack (passive) to be able to dash five times. But Zata players may instinctively do that anyway when playing Shangguan.
As mentioned, Wukong's S2 is Laville's S2. So HOK players trying Wukong should probably not try a 'stealth' approach.
Volkath is often considered not similar to Yang Jian, but after playing him, I think I have to agree with you. They are pretty similar, just differing in ult.
Yuhuan has one chief difference despite her skills being the same with Sephera: She can switch between offensive (more damage) and defensive (sustain) at will. Sephera is the middle road with only one stance.
Both Zhang Fei and Cresht used to have the Rage meter for resource. Zhang Fei still has that, but Cresht does not. So Cresht players better beware if Zhang Fei's ult is not ready, thinking that it's managed by cooldown only.
Zilong's passive is a lot more complex than Zephys, it seems. He gets way more varying bonuses when his HP goes lower.
Future AOV players may also want to watch out for these heroes, because there are still some counterpart heroes not yet transferred from the CN Server:
- Yao (anime looking guy with single sword, likes like to act like a chuuni) -> Yan (different ult, though, like Volkath and Yang Jian)
- Bai Qi (black-red armored scary guy with a giant scythe) -> Mina
- Cheng Yaojin (Barbarian kinda guy with two axes) -> Taara
- Liu Bang (purple emperor guy with sword) -> Xeniel
- Su Lie (big guy with big totem) -> Wiro
- Arke (female assassin who likes to go stealth, and as mentioned, the previous holder of Butterfly's kit) -> Quillen
- Xuance (Shouyue's little bro, red haired cat-like guy with smaller chain-sickle) -> Enzo
- Jiang Ziya (old wizard guy) -> For Preyta, though in a similar case with Zhou Yu and Ignis.
- Shen Mengxi (catboy with bombs) -> Iggy
- Wu Zetian (regal empress lady) -> Ilumia
- Ying Zheng (emperor in black-red clothes, summons flying swords out of nowhere) -> Kahlii
- Genghis Khan (Wolf-rider with bow) -> Lindis
- Niu Mo (Bull guy) -> Lumburr (however, in the beta testing, Lumburr already replaced him like how Ata replaced Zhu Bajie. Same issues with Toro, I guess)
- Taiyi Zhenren (The short guy who looks like a Final Fantasy Black Mage and rides a mechanical contraption) -> TeeMee

you can say dirak is inspired by nuwa in a sense that their s1 are both skillshots with knockback at close range. s2 are both interrupts but nuwa's a terrain while dirak is meteor. both has ultra long range skillshot ults

Musashi and Airi similar but also different on their ult, skill 1 & passive. Musashi ult really fix-locked to the target, while Airi could do damages & stuns to AoE. Skill 1 not refreshing skill 2 and doesn't stun, & passive technically from skill 2 passive where you can spam 3× skill 2 if you're Airi.
Ukyo & Ryoma also a little bit different from skill 1 other than that pretty much similar. Skill 1 Ryoma could be used again after you passed a wall or any obstacles, while Ukyo couldn't.
Heroes from HoK and AoV are some kind similiar but there skill still have some different between 2 games so u guys need to read the skill carefully

Used to main Thane in AoV, so now I mainly play Xiang Yu in HoK. Other than the pushing skill, the other skills feels very different. Thane, last time I played has wide circle area knockup in skill 2, and Xiang Yu has slow and damage reduction. Thane ult has true damage, Xiang Yu's ult is physical, and instead of higher damage based on enemy's lost hp(before revamp, now it's based on your max HP iirc ) it deals higher damage based on your lost HP instead. Passives also different.
In terms of damage, Xiang Yu > Thane > Tigreal
In terms of control, Tigreal > Thane > Xiang Yu
I have played Hou Yi and I’d disagree. I think he is more like Yorn, well at least the original. with the CC arrow/bird across map. Enhanced 1st attack. Haven’t had a chance to play the other champ you identified as yorn.

Well, Hou Yi is Laville AoV for sure, the only different is skill 2 thats similar to Yorn 1st skill...
But for Yorn's HoK counterpart is Luban for sure... The ultimate, passive skill, and Luban 2nd skill are the same with Yorn...
@@nsatriawan9008 I will give them a try then. I must have stopped playing aov before laville because I never really saw him in action. I think I quit twice and the second time I came back the last “new” character out was yue. I quit shortly after again because server was dead.

i tried HoK after a day I went straight b to ml xD hok felt so slow and clanky i dunno its too zoomed in map. I just cant lol.
You can set the camera angle whether to zoom in or zoom out in the setting. HoK is actually feel faster than mlbb after I play it for 3 days, like how you can teleport from the clash Lane to other lanes, or a faster 'late game'. I don't get about the 'clunky' part maybe your graphics is too low haha xD

AOV was made to bring HOK to the west, the game was westernized.
However AOV failed and tencent released the original game now which is HOK.
HOK is the original of aov. they made aov for global because hok is so chinese, but then they decide to make hok global. the game name before is king of glory

I still prefer AOV to be fair. The character designs were just way nore varried an well designed. Hayate looked amazing 🥷 🔥 as did Omen
