I am getting Married this year and i told my bride to be that i wanted to make our wedding rings. I feel it will make them extra special. I have been trying to figure out how to mount a faceted stone to her ring. When I seen this video it was like a ton of bricks was lifted off my shoulders. I cant thank you enough!!!!! keep up the awesome tutorials!
I had been searching for years for how to wire set faceted stones, how to make prongs, etc. without soldering. I'm so happy to have come across your channel. Now I can confidently configure the plan I drew years ago!
OH my goodness, you've just opened up a whole new world for me. I inherited a box of gemstones that are all shapes and sizes that I have struggled to make bezels for in the traditional way. Thank you so much.
THANK YOU!! This has been what's keeping me from making decent jewelry my entire life! 😭😭😭 I can't express how appreciative I am of this video. AND ITS SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND
Dear Sir, you've provided a wonderful tutorial that has expanded my skill level beyond my expectation. My first attempt was not good but thru your exceptionally clear instruction, I understood where I'd gone wrong and did much better the second time. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Oh my goodness! This is the best claw setting tutorial ever. I got beautiful results on my first attempt, using round wire too. Its even gorgeous on the back. This will be my go-to setting from now on. I can finally use all of my pretty diamond cut gems that I've been hoarding. Thank you!
I admire your videos so much you explain and demonstrate everything to a T. It would be satisfying if all videographers would take a page from your book on how to demonstrate how to do a project, there would be less mistakes made and jewelry would turn out the first time. Thank you for the wonderful video's!
Just completed this in copper with a cubic zirconia, It's definitely not perfect ...but I did it! ...You saved my life with this, I've been trying to figure out how to set two stones for a very specific custom .. and this is perfect! As ever, thank you so much for everything you share!
I love your mellow teaching voice, and your clear concise teaching style. I attached my basket to a ring and loved it. It took me three tries before I was completely satisfied with the procedure and the outcome. That being said I would love to see you make a video showing how you would tackle the process.😍
Hey folks! I just used this for silver-filled, with 22 g in round wire, and it totally still works. I think it would also work with 24, but I wouldn't go below that. (Maybe 24 for a small stone?) Round wire is trickier because you won't have as sharp a bend and it won't snap together as cleanly as square, but it's doable.
Thank you very much for your videos. When you are wrapping it looks so simple. It would be great if one day i could do just a fraction of what you can do.
Love this. I just did my first commission in sterling silver and I did a prong setting for it! What a coincidence! I did my prong setting completely differently so it's awesome to see a different technique for the same setting. Thanks for the vid~
This is the easiest prong setting I've seen! Thank you for sharing! If I can ask you to speak a little louder, my speakers are at 100% and I still have a little trouble hearing your soft spoken voice!
Thank you! I just bought an Omen laptop customized and it has everything but the crappiest speakers. I can't believe it! My other computer has the Beats audio and I can hear everything. I paid almost $1500.00 for the new one, $800.00 for my other HP one, should have stuck with that! Thanks for listening to me vent!
WOW, Now I know what to do with that big box of my semi precious stones. Do you have a video on how to complete this to make a ring please ? Thank you sooooo much.
Another great tutorial, and at exactly the right time, as I’ve been trying to figure out this procedure for the last week or so. Thanks for giving us another great technique to incorporate into our work!
Thx homie. I've been trying to figure out an easier way to set and this is just what I needed... long-distance highfive ✋ I appreciate what you're doing... thx again -kris
This is a great tutorial! You make it very easy to follow. Thank you so much for creating free content. For self-starters like myself who are disabled, you make it possible for me to continue to expand my library of techniques as I learn this new art form. 🤗
I think I got all that I need to do some of your projects ❤ Spent a wad of money, but I got everything ♥️ Up to now, I have been playing around with round wire ❤ Now it is time to upgrade to half round and square wires ♥️ This time I bought all copper because I want to use them for practice, until I can be better ❤ Keep bringing those videos on ♥️ Thank you ❤
This is an absolutely brilliant method for prong settings. I used it for an ammonite fossil which is, of course, odd shaped. I just altered the distance between prongs at the pointed end and it worked wonderfully! Thank you. I will use this often.
Officially a MASTER.... you just came up with the easiest most awesomely executed prong setting in this style..... OMG.... you better CALL IT yours.... the raftark method!!♡◇◇♡€€€4 ☆☆☆☆told YOU YOU are a bad ASS.... LOL lmao
You're wonderful! I can't support you though. No doubt you have more money than I do. But thank you for showing me this. I have way more control than the way I was taught on copper. Thank you!
i also agree with making this into a ring. you are very good at explaining all you do. also a very calming voice, stress free viewing. do you have dvds out?
Your techniques are amazing and so much easier than i would have imagined. Thank you so much. This Will be a great technique for a ring i want to make. Ty again...love & light...K
I have watched this video so many times. Thank you for sharing your expertise. Only thing is...I can't figure out how to attach it as a ring or pendant. Do you have a video of a complete project? Please get back to me. Thanks again.
I tried it with a 7x5 mm oval. It doesn't work for that. But i could use the prongsetting for a 8 mm round stone. Do i have to do something different for a small or very small stone? Or does this setting only work from a certain stone size? Perhaps i should use a thinner wire?
Just curious, hope you can help. Maybe it's just that I'm still new to this method you've shown, but I struggle to get things sized up correctly. My prongs end up being too long or too short. Any advice? Thank you for sharing your talents. Best videos around.

It is really phenomenal that you freely share your knowledge and genius. Thank you!
You make this look so effortless! It took me three solid tries to get that basket pulled together. I love the final result for a 4 ct. Welo Opal

Beautiful! This has a great symmetry to it which very much adds to the stone without covering up the cut 😍
Can't tell you how much I LOVE this. I have been trying to make a proper Basket for stones, THIs Is IT !!!!! Bless You my Friend!!!!!
Thank you very much for your videos. When you are wrapping it looks so simple. It would be great if one day i could do just a fraction of what you can do.

This is an absolutely brilliant method for prong settings. I used it for an ammonite fossil which is, of course, odd shaped. I just altered the distance between prongs at the pointed end and it worked wonderfully! Thank you. I will use this often.
You are awesome and you make that look so simple! Phew that's a challenge for a beginner!
Thanks, Nolan! You're way is the best I've seen!
Are you using dead soft wire cuz you just whip that wire into shape lol. OMGAWD! Mind Blown! 🧠🎆 Thank you kindly. Your craftsmanship is SUBLIME!!!!
Thank you, I have been struggling with setting a peridot. Now I need to figure out how to set a polished but cut/shaped opal.
Officially a MASTER.... you just came up with the easiest most awesomely executed prong setting in this style..... OMG.... you better CALL IT yours.... the raftark method!!♡◇◇♡€€€4 ☆☆☆☆told YOU YOU are a bad ASS.... LOL lmao
Another very great way to secure the less valuable opals I cut to my wire wrap projects. Thanks!!

You're wonderful! I can't support you though. No doubt you have more money than I do. But thank you for showing me this. I have way more control than the way I was taught on copper. Thank you!

Hey, have you figured out how to attach it to a ring? Struggling with this myself, thank you!
I tried it with a 7x5 mm oval. It doesn't work for that. But i could use the prongsetting for a 8 mm round stone. Do i have to do something different for a small or very small stone? Or does this setting only work from a certain stone size? Perhaps i should use a thinner wire?
This is so amazing and well explained! Thank you
