Thanks for watching Al's Homestead!
Higher costs are definitely not a fun part of raising animals. It looks like it's good you don't mind the cold though!
Not even homesteading is safe from inflation. 😬
Nope, unfortunately not. I'm hoping prices will start to ease but you don't see companies lower prices a lot after hiking them.
Sorry to see you lasted, Henrietta. I lasted my mother from cancer in August & have been very busy with many things, I'm glad to see you are still going. Have fun, you are a great young man, your friend Dawn from Northern Michigan P S stay dry& warm 💙
Thanks Dawn! Sorry about your mother. It rained here last night and all of our snow is almost gone. Unusual for Wisconsin in February, that's for sure.
Have you found the cost of your feed has gone way up ? I’ve heard some of the homesteaders talking about that cost also .
It has gone from about $12 for a 50lb bag to about $18. So about a 50 percent increase. It is a cost that has gone up for sure, but when you consider that eggs are 5 dollars a dozen I think we are saving money raising our own layers.
Hi! How much is sawdust running $?
Right now pine shavings are 7 or 8 dollars a bale, but they are dustier to use and don't break down as nice for the garden.
