You sure it requires you to do that extra click to a Microsoft Account? Yours is the only instruction I found that includes that step. Thank you for the help.

Awesome. A friend of mine wanted to get his computer out of s mode and i referred him to your video. Does doing this procedure erase any files on the pc or reformat the pc?
No, you dont loose any DATA doing these steps :)
I think you're missing the point people don't want to use or sign in with any Microsoft account. Sure this is one way of doing it but people are looking for a way to get out of S mode or turn it off without having to sign into the Microsoft store because they don't have a Microsoft account and don't want to create one
I dont think every video will apply to every situation lol. Judging from the comments, this video is helping quite a few although some as you said will have a different situation. Thx though :)
Try to open regedit. It won't open but you will be able to change out of s mode without going to the Microsoft store.

My brand new Lenovo computer only has upgrade your edition of Windows to windows 10 pro S mode as an option for $99. there is no switch option on my activation page. I don't want to upgrade, I just want to turn s mode off! please help!

i have been trying this, my windows store just say "working" on it, I have reset the store and it still doesnt work,.
exactly the same problem. idk what to do. it is driving me nuts!!
reset windows it worked for me like do a fully clean install of windows something might of bugged out if this doe not work u might be out of luck sadly plz note it will clean everything on your pc or laptop!. but its worth a try
@@hannahon60fps 100% worked for me i had done everything but do a clean reset. And i mean reset. If you guys dont know how just youtube how to do a factory reset on windows laptop. Its simple and as soon as u reset and sign back in dont do anything else go straight to turn off s mode

I have an XPS 15 L521X and it only goes to the Dell logo with a blue progress line below that, which progresses all the way quickly, and "F2 Setup" and "F12 Boot Options" in the bottom right. When I hit either F2 or F12 that selection turns white and the laptop does nothing else. I have a boot USB and a BIOS USB and I've opened it up, disconnected both batteries and hit the power button for 30 seconds. Neither USB does anything when it's inserted and started. Any other ideas for this issue?

This video really helped me after my update. But question, how can you update third party apps for instance in the future google chrome will probably need a update. How do you update it if it’s a third party app.?
You can update that through the app then. You can go to the web browser and update that separately / manually

Since you can't turn it back on, is it true that turning it off could cause longer startup times? Also, I think I heard something about security? I want it gone, I need it gone, but I'm scared to turn it off.

Hi, I need your help. I have a acer from 2015 and it never updates and when I tried to access it.. it said windows\system33\config\systemprofile not available I tried troubleshoot and resetting the laptop but it stops at 62% and says it can’t restart.. please help!!

I had a family member bring me two laptops yesterday with this issue. I went to regedit it wasnt able to open but I could switch out the mode there.
my laptop doesn't have a "Updates and Secuity" tab. it has "Privacy and Security" and looks nothing like your screen. i'm so frustrated. i've trying to get out of S-mode for like 3yrs. My "Get" button is completely greyed out. One thing says to update the Microsoft store but i have no option anywhere to update the Store itself. Any advice? A year ago i called Microsoft directly and even after an hour the lady couldn't help me
1) do i must have microsoft account to get switch out of S mode ?

hey man ik its been awhile since u posted this but if you or anyone else could help me out it would be huge, i did everything you did up until the part where i go into the microsoft store, it says i have to pay 130$ to upgrade to windows 10/11 in s mode, theres no option for switching out of s mode for me, and mine shows exactly what urs does but it switches up there. please help
