Just want to say thanks for this demonstration. Finally a diagnosis matched my problem and this gave it exactly what it needed and saved me a ton of money. I was worried about it not regening, but after cleaning that pump it got all 3 light when I turned the dash back on. I got the switch and it finally agreed with me it was time. Regen completed, lights cleared, problem has not returned.

I have a Volvo not a freightliner with a Cummins and I put DEF in and a couple of hours later I got codes and the def light so later I stopped and put in some fresh def in (what little I could get in) and the dinging bell keep on going off I ran about another 250 miles shut the truck off for about10 minutes just long enough to check in for my loaded trailer when I cranked up the light had gone off and the truck went back to 100% power and no more problems but as soon as I get a chance I'm going to check the injector to see if it needs cleaning thanks for the Video now I know what to do next time but I'm going make it a part of my maintenance routine to keep it clean.

I had same this problem month an ago and dealership at jonestown PA charged me $6250 , they changed def pump , meetering unit and few other sensors but my truck did same problem again after 2 weeks. Then saw your video and fix by myself its running good now no issues at all. I Appreciate for your helpful video

Bro you are the man‼️‼️‼️ i had to do those process twice. The 1st time no results after 45 min rgen the second time after a 45 min rgen nothing, same engine light. I limped 30 miles down the road back to full power baby‼️‼️🙏🏾 no engine light‼️

First thanks for watching my video Second the poop def quality is not the type of def it means poop def spray quality! The tip of the def injector is smaller than the tip of a ball point pen, it clogs and around the spray drys and the def get hard like a rock so it may be time to change out the metal seal ring that goes around the injector. Just took my truck to the shop. They been looking at it for 2 days and no call back. I just replace box and nox sensors and doser valve. It went away for a week and came back. Im gonna head to the shop now and see if they look into that
same happening to my truck when going hill need to regan replaced all sensors only advice get now need new one box

There is a way of cleaning your one box. Don’t replace one box clean it.
I wish I knew that 4 years ago freightliner charge me 13,000 to replace whole box said there was no other way
The older models box do crack around the front mount usually
cleaning the one box I haven’t seen it yet and the ones that say they can clean it people keep having the same problem. When the SCRs goes bad no good
If you over 700 000 miles is best to replace it.

What I did to my truck was I bought a new locking def cap at Freightliner and I always make sure that I clean off the DEF tank spout after I put DEF so that the seal stays tight and it doesn’t crystallize underneath the cap where the rubber seal is so it doesn’t leak air

I just new filters put In my one box still having 2 regen every other day. Wiring harnesses, dozer valve, inner/outer nox sensor was replaced about a year ago. Don't know what else too do. The main code I keep getting is 4364 fmi 18
after getting your filters replaced did they do a test to see what your 1box is converting “NOx” it should be converting at around 98%. If it’s not & your numbers are low SCR maybe the problem, one more option as a whole you need to change your DEF filter, clean your 7th injector from carbon & clear the carbon in the seventh injector housing and also clean the buildup, dry deaf around the DEF injector vacuum it all out and change out the DEF injector metal seal that goes around the base of the deaf injector so air doesn’t get inside that seal is important. if you’ve done all of that changing out your one box and all the sensors on it is the next thing but that’s very costly between 14 and $18,000.
I’ve been having this issue and I’ve been doing the same but now I got SPN4374. I think is the doser.
That code Hass to do with higher DEF pump speed it’s very possible that your dpf’s pump is going bad

unfortunately, I’ve had the same problem where I had to replace my one box problem with that is it’s expensive. I paid $18,000in 2019. three months later I had the same problem with my truck. They gave me some dumb answer that my sensors were bad. Fortunately, I replaced all the sensors on the one box so I knew that wasn’t it. It was leaking injector, putting all the buildup of inside the box after I cleaned it up, I had no more problems

My truck was derated at 25% because the DEF wire harness was chaffing against the frame. Cost me $800 to get it fixed and replace a couple of wires.
So there are many things that can go wrong this is how I fixed my problem

After many failed attempts to bypass the derate I tried your idea and sure enough that thing was clogged bad. Cleaned it with some soapy water and a pic and good as new! Thanks! Total cost to fix $0. How the heck did you figure that out?

Didn't you replace the crush washer? The doser will most likely leak again if you didn't.
I forgot to replace the washer and now it’s leaking again and I got code for under pressurized def system so I’m assuming it’s because I reused this washer and I know you can’t reuse it
Hey I got a freightliner box truck where is that piece located my DEF light was yellow all day yesterday this morning when I stated truck it was blinking and wouldn’t go over 5mph now I’m at freightliner in Howe TX hopefully I can hear back before they start working on it

That shit happens every day even if you clean your def injector or replace it with the new one
After u cleaned the def injector spray.. have u ever have same problem again

sorry for getting back to you so late:) if you haven’t had your dpf’s cleaned in the last year i wood but before you do that i would clear your doser injector and clean your def injector and clean and vacuum out the def injector area so you don’t need any additional scr burns
I always clean my dpf’s filter once a year and I recommend cleaning them once a year because if you’re doing a lot of idling you should get them cleaned once a year

SPN 4363/FMI 0. Description. Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) Outlet Temperature High brother I got this code now on my 2017 Freightliner I’m confused and tired of trucking got some bulging discs problem it’s my last year pls guys need some help I’m way back from home
OK my friend this could mean a couple of things if you haven’t cleaned your after treatment system, that could be the problem. There’s too much soot & it need to be clean your dozer injector could be bad dirty and it’s leaking too much diesel on the exhaust that goes to the SCR box. Remember the dozer injector fills up with carbon and won’t spray correctly. One thing that you probably don’t want to hear is you need to replace your SCR one box those things usually go out right about 800,000 miles I hope this helps how to fix it on the road if you haven’t cleaned your system. I would start there even if you were away from home. Hope this helps.

What spn/fm numbers were you getting on the dash. Ive been running the same codes fpr a year just doing a regen every week when it happens.
Hi Austin I didn’t write the codes down but they’re the only codes that come up when you have poor DEF quality service emission system the problem is happening your DPF filters get full and they need to be serviced this is why this keeps happening so once you clean your DPF filters out you wont have this problem anymore and if you do it’s because you’re DEF injector seal is bad and you get DEF buildup around the DEF injector. Once you start seeing the build up just keep cleaning it out so you don’t need an SCR burn. I hope this helps.
@@gearedlowslow4827 yeah my dpf isnt the issue. Im gonna replace both nox sensors and find a reman def injector. See if that changes anything. If not the used one box i end up dragging home will have new nox sensors and def injector
Sounds like a plan Austin hope it works out for you, I replaced my one box in 2019 with all the sensors and new DEF injector & DPF filter so when this happens with my truck I know that its time to clean DPF filters I usually get them cleaned once a year but I’m about a few months past the time, that I usually get them cleaned so that’s why this is happening to me and my DEF injector seal is leaking and that’s what causes my DEF code to go off

I change my DEF fluid filter twice a year once in the cold season once in the hot season because the hot season it evaporates pretty quick and you might get some bits in the bottom of the tank so it’s good to change it cold season because it’s cold and the DEF stays in the tank longer once again, you get the bits and pieces my DPF filters and serviced them once a year now I buy my filters my death filters online it’s cheaper. All you have to do is look online and you’ll be able to find it easily.

Hello,Brother I have Freightliner cascades 2014 on million miles.Truck is very good.I change oil and grease my self.Use blue def gallons from long time.All truck everything is good but little bit heavy load everyday need Regen.some time code spn 3364 fmi 2.some time another code.Machnic said everything is good.Please help me every day regen is hard some time load late.Grapevine Hill every time need regen
let’s talk regen when we’re your dpfs last cleaned if you did a lot of idling over the hot months it’s time to clean the dpfs
ok 3364fm2 poor def quality DOES NOT MEAN BAD DEF it means the spray quality is poor take out your def injector clean it with water clean out all the dry def buildup with a pick tool & vacuum all of that buildup out don’t hit the scr’s if you look inside the injector hole you’ll see all the white buildup it’s hard so pick it out
Just as a reminder, going over those mountain range like the grapevine, more diesel means more weight and drop a gear. Keep the RPMs under 1500. It will help your motor and help your emissions.
How many days did you go before the next regen???
It just depends if the inside of your one box where the deaf injector connects to if you don’t clean that out and you just poke the hole of dry DEF it could build up right away. If you have a bad injector, it’s just constantly leaking it could build up really quick as well because it’s constantly leaking if it’s been more than a year and your filters are dirty that could be the problem if your deaf, injector seal ring is leaking could dry it out really quick it just depends

It just Hass to be a bottle of water water dissolves dry DEF corrosion because it’s water and urea so just a regular bottle water for conversation sake, room temperature
Every time and on every truck I could never initiate a regen with the switch on dash options. I’ve been told it tells you when you need it and only then you can use it unless you have the software. Is there any way without software?
How do you clear the code to allow you to do the manual regen? Truck says “Manual Regen not allowed”
I use Diesel Decoder by Diesel Laptops. You can clear the codes and do a forced Regen.If you're lucky and they have a sale you can get it for $249, but the regular price is $350. It's worth it ,it can save you a tow. I think its better then "OTR Diagnostics" which charges a monthly subscription fee on a product you will rarely use.
@@redjeb5833 Also a lot drivers have problems connecting to it. Push action and run the scan, it will then recognize your truck. It will show you what parts are going bad after you sign up, but the repair side is subscription based, and if you don’t have a fleet or repair shop, only one truck, not worth it paying the monthly, just stay with the freebee.
