I had the same reaction as you. I got the LX pro coming from the Hyperlite. Very minimal effort to shoot 100% harder. This really is one of those sticks that I use and it just launches rockets. Then when I actually try to shoot hard, it just has a brutal release to it. Bar downs seem to just be violent when they come off the bar into the net. It really is one of the sleeper sticks of the year. I’ve never used better so far.

Totally right! Warrior is really on the outside in marketing and getting its stick into the hands of the right people and showing how good this stick is. I would love to see improvement in grip for the next gen of it but maintain the current specs and performance. If they did this I would have rated it a 20/20 but the grip was its weak spot. Fixable with wax or some tape but annoying a bit

Hey Mr Beer League Bum. I just purchased the LX Pro at Sportchek for 50% off. After watching all your videos and seeing this stick still at the top of your respect list. I had to get this OG stick before it sailed into the sunset of discontinued without trying it.

I just bought a warrior alpha lx20, the step down stick from what you reviewed here, but so far it has been quite a let down. Doesn't shoot anywhere near as well as the ccm jetspeed ft3 pro I replaced. I was stunned when you voted this stick your best of the year. I would have spent the extra cash to buy the warrior alpha lx pro if I saw this video a few days ago. The weight was nearly the same for the lx20 version so I opted to save a few bucks. I think it would be great if you could review a few of the less expensive models of sticks (around $200 us) so we can know how they compare. Also, happy new year to you! Nice videos overall!

Thanks! Yes I will start doing lower price point sticks come 2022. This was more of my launch and had to start with top gear. The ft3 pro will be far better than a step down price point stick even the LX. Which is probably your issue. The ft3 pro was one of the best sticks ever ( minus durbality) I have a review on it from early days on my channel where I sing it’s praises. I appreciate the feedback and the ideas everyone is giving me

The alpha lx20 is really light weight and balanced. I weighed the 75 flex uncut 63" stick at 398 grams without the plastic plug. When I cut 4.5 inches off I had a 382 gram stick. Tapped stick is 406 grams. Very light for $199 usd. This stick feels very stiff for a 75 flex. I wonder if warrior measures the flex at 60 or 63 inches? Since I own it, I will give it more testing.

    • @beerleaguebumhockeyreviews

@@glenn2494 once you cut something very hard to determine how it should of flexed and felt for sure. I didn’t notice stiffness much as the lxpro loaded easier but we are talking about 2 different sticks slightly so hard to say completely. But that is impressive for that price point!

We seem to have very similar tastes in hockey sticks so for the first time I went out and bought this last night without testing it in the shooting gallery. It seemed like a very nice stick. I agree, it shoots very well. The only thing I don't like about it is there is something about how clunky it is. This is kind of hard for me to explain. I would say just hold the stick up waist high in front of you with one hand and let the blade drop to the ice. It's that feeling when it hits the ground. Almost feels like an old clunky wooden stick hitting the ice. Like I said, hard for me to explain but I just noticed it right away. Overall though very nice stick and I agree with you on all your points about the stick.

Trigger 6 pro is a recent stick I have tested, and it’s a great stick as well, but the new 6 is very stiff to load. For a low kick stick it requires great shooting technique. The 5 I used last year and broke the blade very quickly so I can’t remember how well of a stick it was. However I also had an ft3 at the time and that I found was a better stick than the 5. In the end it’s what fits your game and shooting style best. A lot of people will have differing opinions and if you found your stick that’s all that matters. For me, I test a lot of sticks. are you sure having a 75 flex wasn't at least a partial factor in how your shots were coming off? You sure that having an 85 flex would be even better? Have you tried 75 flex in say the FT5 or Trigger 7 etc?

This video is quite old. Many of my videos have 85 and 75 flex sticks. Depending on what I was feeling in Lxpro, ft4 etc. I’m currently in 75 due to wrist issues. But used to rock 85 in an Lxpro and I preferred the 75 way after this video. My fav flex now is 75. Easier load still good recal.
If it was just a slapper comp I would go 85 but 75 is more versatile

Warrior has significant issues with its go-to-market. They use VARs (value added resellers) instead of going direct to stores. This means that they rely on the VAR for marketing and education of the product. This means you have to rely on the VAR for everything and you have no direct rep at Warrior if you have issues with a product, accounting, marketing, customer service, etc. While some VARs are good, there are many that are awful and do a terrible job of "selling" the product to stores. The other thing Warrior does that many stores dislike is they will sell direct to teams, for example, there are a few teams in ACHA D1 that use Warrior and they cut out the stores and sell direct. CCM and Bauer rely on the stores to handle team sales. This cuts into a stores profitability and relationship with team sales. We sell a ton of Warriors sticks. The Alpha LX Pro is the best stick they have made. I previously disliked all Warrior sticks released after the QR1, so it's been about 5-6 years since I thought they had a really good product. The LX Pro is really great except the durability could be better.

I was actually playing around with the idea of an FT4 pro or warrior LX pro. Do you still recommend the warrior lx pro over all else? Hey man! Nice to hear from you. Ft4 pro I personally beleive is a better stick overall for power and consistency however I rated the lxpro higher because it was more durable and on a 350$ stick that does matter. The lx pro also has grip issues so you pick your pros and cons. Ft4 pro beat all round shooting stick, less durable. Lxpro great shooting stick more durable but grip is garbage.

My choices besides the lx is the catalyst PX or maybe I could order another AS4 pro. Our play style is different. I’m a passer and have a heavy wrist shot. Not much for snappers or clappers. I value puck control over most other things but not enough to use a Bauer stick. Lol. What would you do if you were me?
