Disagree. The island of Mljet in Croatia was a nightmare from hell. 50% of kids used to die of snake bites. The Habsburg emperor Franz Jozef brought the Indian mongooses to the island in 1910 and now there are no snakes on the island. None, zero. In fact, they cleaned all the neighboring islands. The people loved them.

Source? What type of snakes? I doubt that was all the work of Vipera ammodytes, which is usually considered the most dangerous snake that area should have to offer. I find a lot of sources talking about how there were a lot of snakes, but none that talk about the 50% number in particular.

They got imported to Hawaii also. I don't think they cause as much trouble there. When I vacationed in Hawaii, I saw a toad and picked it up. Toads are nice and tame. But soon my skin was burning - the cane toad has unusually venomous skin. Not too bad really, I just had to wash my hands frequently while handling them.

Perhaps not as bad as what we did years ago in the Southern California region. A city had bats living under a HUGE underpass region, locals were complaining about the bats, concerns about them being rabies carriers. Even though the Center for Disease Control stated that there was no wide-scale concern or problem with this, the city decided to react anyway.
So they caught and relocated the bats, it was a very expensive project. Within one year, the mosquito population exploded so badly that the local hospitals were noting that there was a huge amount of diseases from mosquitos impacting the people in the area. There were actual deaths involved. They had to, at great expense, go where they relocated the bats and put them back under the underpass.

Mouse moves out but cat annoys Porky so Bugs sells him a dog. Dog chases cat away but dog leaves ‘droppings. Bugs then sells him a tiger and dog vanishes. But tiger keeps Porky scared. So he buys an elephant from handy Bugs. Elephant tears up apartment so Bugs sells him a VERY expensive mouse which scares elephant so much, it runs through a wall…

Illinois has yellow sac spiders. I saw 7 when I got up one morning. I found out that they were hanging around on two small trees in my backyard. I cut those trees down and the issue went away. I think they nested on trees due to the amount of insects that landed there.
