But I remember something he once said to me after I asked him how he liked his new Range Rover sport....He said if you buy one, buy a second one so you have one to drive when the other is in the shop.
Airbags should be an service item and anybody who waits till they fail are fools, as soon as mine shown to be on their way out I changed them for OEM parts and not cheap eBay items.
This video was pretty dramatic over a blown strut. In my personal experience rovers don’t really like to sit for extended periods and air struts do have a tendency to fail in cold weather. You really can’t economically own a rover without working on them yourself.
Its a freaking suspension issue, pay for it already if you want to drive the top of the range of an icon of a car, if not then don't even go there, Range Rover is one of those cars that are an event to drive and be seen in, personally I am looking to buy a normal TDV8 from around 2008.
Wouldn’t you need to go in pretty deep with tools and equipment in order to maintain and repair yourself? They’re big, heavy, complex, probably need specialist equipment. It’s not like wrenching on a defender or something. Curious to know.
I drive mine daily miles and miles , I vow to learn how to any thing and I will . I am in love with “ big boy “ and I wouldn’t part with him for the world . I was a Volvo girl for years then I met him it was love at first sight. Being a Volvo girl I’m also parts girl and mechanics girl . So it doesn’t bother me . My vogue is life !!
Your going to have to learn to work on your cars the same as I do and a lot of other guys. I've saved literally thousands and thousands of pounds in labour costs over the last 25 years. To answer your question.....keep it m8.
I have the supercharged 2010 and the head gasket was blown 3 months ago, now the suspension failed and pistons need to be replaced but still I'll keep it.
I'd vote to keep it. With so much sunk in it both financially and emotionally, just keep it. And drive it a little more. I have a '10 Range Rover HSE and I love it for many of the same reasons as you. It is not my daily but i do it drive a few times a month and on adventure trips as the 4WD system is fantastic. You knew it would breakdown. Perhaps you should do the timing chain as preventative maintenance. I haven't done mine with 67k miles.
Driving it 36 miles in 6 months definitely isn't good for it low battery voltage can cause warning lights and all sorts of things to ping up, there a complex car but if your not gonna drive it properly id sell it.

Ever considered the coil conversion? Whilst mine is currently working I would seriously consider doing that to keep one of the most awesome vehicles ever.
I would say to just sell it. I did that then got another, when I’m into again. I had a disco 2, RRS supercharged, then when through 2 Jeep’s and now I’m at a disco 1 again. But it also helps that’s I can work on my own cars tho. Plus you already have a rover.
Mate, don't sell it!!! You've already invested so much into it. I had one and I regret selling it. Ok I had the extended warranty, but the inconvenience of having her in for repair cannot be underestimated. My God they are annoying but they are also so utterly fantastic. You're already emotionally attached to it and that's the point - emotion.

Because I am thinking about buying a 2008 Range Rover supercharged for my soon to be driving son. It would never be a road trip vehicle. More local around town thing. But would you recommend a Range Rover for a first car? Oh I use to live in Knoxville. My husband graduated from UT. We live in Murfreesboro now. Close to Nashville.

Any vehicle that doesn't get enough daily use will fail...especially a range rover!

Its not that hard to replace i just replace all 4 bags on my lr3 and upper & lower control arms. When you repair things yourself you save money

You have other cars, so I’d keep it because of the emotional attachment, it is an amazing car after all.
