You guys are blessed . I worked as a nurse went to school after work , raised 4 kids, took them to baseball and soccer practice, cleaned the whole house cooked meals everyday and was in the Air Force Reserves with tour of duty one weekend a month and was on call at night for dialysis patients . Sometimes working 24 hours when needed to dialyze a patient emergently. I am 68 and I am finally worn out and was thinking of getting someone to mop my floors and dust since I have a bad back . I really do not feel comfortable with it but I have trouble walking after doing the floors. I hope to get the courage to get help. It is hard letting people in your house . I understand you being careful too.
I tried to be a super mom and almost died from backache and creating a habit of being taken for granted where certain chores were concerned. Just what you can and allow help for your health.
You cannot compromise these points Do not allow a househelp to 1. Wash your (husband and wife) clothes 2. Bath your kids 3. Sleep in your matrimonial home 4. Clean your room 5. Cook your meals 6. Sleep in the same room with your kids 7. Clean your bathroom 8. Lay your bed 9. Clean your kids room 10. Check up on your kids at night Very key..... Prov 31 spells this out perfectly well. Kudos for this insightful reminder
My mum has always told her daughters and daughter in laws never let your house help enter your bedroom, clean it, clean under wears or cook for your husband. Major 🔑 👌🏾
Best advice ever. Now, how do you help a couple who doesn't change bedsheets for a whole month.. Yes! a whole month. I just felt uncomfortable and changed them... Am a house girl and some of these clean and classy women you see in the streets...... If it were not for househelps 🤔🤔🤔🤔God nifundishe kunyamaza
But it’s not your place to “ feel uncomfortable” for the couple.. it’s their bed. Their house..their filth.. you don’t sleep on that bed. Shouldn’t be your problem
I'm glad you have stated it's some of them,, but there is a way you can introduce them to cleanliness, without undermining or competing with the wife, though I understand some are criminos
Why are you taking as if it's not normal to feel disgusted? Everyone has the right to feel, is this something that you need to be told?@@user-ho3iz3ig3v
Tell them I'm a house maid and all you are saying I have been doing and you know what girl I always say God is my strength one day it will be a testimony keep speaking you never know who might change much 💕
Mummy,I concur with you 101% times, we have to start letting our children learn at tender ages!...my 8yrs and 5yrs old twins, also do their own bed, brush shoes, wash their inner wears n fold their own pajamas,... among other things it's good as they learn and grow up more independent in future...
What about some of these women reel out of their draws and leaving them on the floor and don't even care how soiled they are, and on top of that the husband's draws also in the wash.
When I cook for my family and wash the kids and know where their clothes are na kuprepare clad for husband I feel I am the queen of that household. I don't want to ask hse help stuff concerning my house. I guess am a control freak🤷🏽♀️ but it works for me. Kazi ya help ni usafi tu. Clean house, clean dishes, clean clad. I'll pick the clad from her room and nizipange vizuri kwa room yetu.
I love your views and how much respect you have for your help. Your values and excitement for everything you do and for your children is absolutely beautiful. I love ALL your videos, Suzy!
Great stuff. I like that you are giving a disclaimer.. Because for people who live in small houses two bedrooms where should the helps sleep? Kitchen??????? Many people cannot afford the luxury of Day bug either because of the nature of their jobs. I advise that beds should not be shared even in small houses. If possible get extra mattresses but let each child sleep alone. When I used to live in a small house I ensured I had a small bed, decker and extra mattress. At some point we( My hubby and I moved to the smaller room so that all the others can be comfortable in the bigger room. I think this is more practical especially when the house is not ensuite and even if it is what is the harm to let your children and people in your house be comfortable.
Thank you my sister... even though the world is full of... good...bad and the indifferent... you, us...we can still find time to be kind. Love and blessings always
Thanks for emphasising body safety Suzy. No-one should easily touch our baby's bodies. From infancy to teenage hood. They need to know they are respected and valued. You just don't know other people's intentions.
Wow this is so human because people if they get the chance they would killed their house help with if they get the chance they would even ask their househelp to wipe their but too an everything you say his true God please help the house help to get someone like you to work with bless you
First time viewing your channel, you're a realist, don't mind what people think, it's your life, it's your house, they're your family, you do what you think is best for them. I have watched nannys raise children that aren't theirs and their biological parents don't even know them. Some people for the lack of knowledge is oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Keep it real sis, you're doing a great job. Love from Barbados 🇧🇧 ❤

I agree. I teach my kids privacy. I bath my toddlers. Until a certain age age 7. I agee clean your bedroom. Do your own laundry. Wash tour own underwear. Clean your own bathroom. Cook on food. Househelp can have their own room.
Everything you said is spot on! Those rules are perfect sense. If everyone saw their children as gifts / treasures from God, then they would probably all treat their children with respect & dignity too. I appreciate your videos so much!! Your such a beautiful woman inside and out!! Just watched your new home video as well, it's so gorgeous! And I know this probably sounds crazy to you, but your toilets are so pretty too, so decorative!! I live in the US, Michigan......and our toilets are plain white. And all those beautiful windows! So much bright light, I loved the house tour, so glad you have a beautiful new house to live in!!! Thank you for sharing!💞

Agreed!!! My mum raised us differently in dealing with househelps and in 3 decades, we only had 3 househelps .. all of whom we are still in touch with .... Out of the points Suzy has said, I only agree with one or two ... the rest I will say ... Do you ... Run and manage your household with respect, love and for those who are christians, with the love and fear of God ... Househelps are human beings whose destiny has crossed paths with ours .... they are a member of the family .... if you can, invest in their children's education, teach (and pay for them to learn) a skill, empower them as individuals and trust me , it will also trickle down in how they are with your children ... its not rocket science ... Strive to be the best human being for your household and the seeds will repay decades to come .... children will learn how to treat helps and even the helps will learn how to work with you, your rules and your children (even if at times they dont get it) ... So yes, different strokes for different folks.
5years into my marriage with a similar househelp history, I have learnt so much from this channel and I resonate with so much of your content. These rules are all in my home too. Much love from Zambia. ❤️

I just came across this channel and I love it, you sound like you treat your househelps with all the respect they deserve. I wish everyone treated them like this. I like how you say that what you do is your contribution towards the household. I think these women and girls deserve to be treated with love and respect. Good job 👏🏾
Well well I can see myself in you .. thank you girlfriend you're so on point .. as you know this word is not for everyone but for that one person .. I tell my daughter's that learning doesn't end until 6fit under . God bless you and your family ❤️💯
On bed issue, i make my own bed or leave it that way. But I also don't think it is such a big issue, we sleep in well made hotel room ,plus the beddings r washed by the housekeeping staff with no much grudges
Niko 28 weeks and you should see me nikipiga duster on my knees na kamimba kamehang NAMI nahema kama mbwa. Hubby anacatch coz anafeel naoverwork Hadi akirudi home from work mapema anamop hiyo room ili nisiifanye. Hse help hutushangaa Sana. But that's the one place in the house where I can have total privacy.
Thanks Suzy. You have nice tips on batch cooking. I liked your wholesome meals preparation videos. On what you don't allow your househelps to do in your house, I agree with most of your practices. Some of us have very tight work schedules, and at times we work 50% away from home. So some work chores we are forced to delegate to househelps. About the master bedroom, safety& security of our children, I agree with you 200% ❤❤❤.
Total stranger in the wilderness and a precious precious Angel child. Let me show you something before you go far. God has deposit his spirit in that stranger and you must see her as a precious Angel too. When ever l see a human beings l see God in them but if you see a opposite you will get a strange results from them. I totally l agree with you on other things. I didn't not get chance to do other things for myself when growing but now l enjoy doing everything and l mean everything for myself
Where I am from. When we hired help, they had to clean the house, wash the sheets, etc., clean the bedrooms, washrooms, etc., and wash all the men's clothes including their underwear. Of course today, people have washing machines to assist. Yes, I think it is disgusting for females to give their underwear to be washed. The first thing I was taught as a child was to wash my underwear. Our help also cooks. That is normal in the Caribbean. I know people who just don't cook. I guess in Africa things are done differently from in the Caribbean. I agree with you about the children's section. If I had children, I would not be even allow them to be involved in sleepovers. Now that I live abroad, I can only have a cleaner when I need to get my place back in order. They charge from Cdn $25 to $45 an hour in my city.
An assumption is being made here that some house helps can abuse children. While some do, there is also evidence that children are abused by family members more than they are by strangers. There is also employers who over use/abuse and overwork their house help and dont pay enough. A job description useful from the outset. I grew up with a wonderful house help and when she got married my mother gave the house help her wedding dress which she loved so much. She was like a big sister we never had. I'm in my 50s now & my mum worked fulltime. We were also allowed to do laundry & took turns to wash dishes with my siblings. While my Mum used to wash their underwear. I remember washing this too, but was never a big deal. I learnt a lot from doing chores as a teenager & has shaped the person I am today. Mutual understanding, respect is key and vetting/references. Unfortunately there will always be bad apples both sides.
Also what I hate is people treating helpers like things, like some employers would say,"if you get pregnant then you be fired" like really now...and they are not supposed to have friends especially if they are staying in
I just found your channel and I’m already hooked. Apart from cooking in large batches, I’m already doing all the other points. House helps are there to help and not to take on the responsibility of the parents completely. I love your content and you’re so entertaining and pretty.
What then should be her duties? U've really got a compassionate & considerate heart. If I was working for you, it'll be what Nigerians call "soft job, big money"
Totally agree with all your rules, coz I do nearly all of them. Except cleaning my room - I spread the bed and tidy up all surfaces, but the help cleans the floor. Great work mama! Yours is common sense management of your household and I love it.
Great content Suzy, and thanks for sharing. Having stayed in diaspora ( US) for over 20 years… where even having a house help is not an option) we really have no option but do all the housework , take care of the Husband and kids and still work full time ( sometimes 2 or more jobs).. so my dear Kenyan ladies…it can be done
So true Millie! You guys in the diaspora do it so well! I'm happy that we can afford househelps in Kenya, but sometimes I feel as it we are overly dependent on them. 🙆🏾♀️🙆🏾♀️
That life without Househelps and Full time jobs and Kids and Husband? Nooooooooo Just come home and live more simply. Hoo ni Blood Pressure and hard life ya bure. Money doesn't replace lost time and jot
The jobs abroad give ample time to do all the other stuff after work, that's why you can run two jobs or more. But some of us in Uganda where we work Mon-Sun 8am-8pm each day. It's really draining.
@@gloshwins4454 In the West, we have to pay housekeepers a living wage. Hence why full-time help is reserved mostly for the rich. In the States, people who hire a housekeeper usually have her come buy biweekly, bimonthly, or quarterly for deep cleaning. On the low end, housekeepers charge $50-$100 per hour to clean homes.
Your thoughts are just the same as mine;though im just a nobody ...i have no worker nor even my own house bt whatever you stated here is what i do..i just dont allow people even friends to enter my bedroom. Nomatter what.wil apply all those rules in my household whenever God blesses me with one....thanks from Zimbabwe

Wow,,,,l love this l wish everyone is thinking like you..some see househelps like they don't get tired ,some treat them horrible ..they are helping and we need to understand that they are human beings like any one else... thanks for this dear
Very true dear....Ladies let's learn to do most things ourselves to avoid unnecessary drama in our homes. Thankfully, technology has blessed us with machines that makes life extremely easy (washing machine, ironing and folding machine, dishwasher etc) Let's also allow our kids learn to do things for themselves. This is not slavery, it's good living. I love this video

I agree with you totally 💯 in everything. Pple think I'm weird having a house help n cooking
Thank you Justine! ❤️
U are asmart woman.just happy for u.have heard sense infact good reasoning
Total stranger in the wilderness and a precious precious Angel child. Let me show you something before you go far. God has deposit his spirit in that stranger and you must see her as a precious Angel too. When ever l see a human beings l see God in them but if you see a opposite you will get a strange results from them. I totally l agree with you on other things. I didn't not get chance to do other things for myself when growing but now l enjoy doing everything and l mean everything for myself
Good job there Suzy if people learnt this...this world would be a better place to live in .
I have had a houseboy for four years since i got married . Yaani am very okey. He does everything , cook ,clean etc.
Do you have children? Daughters?
If so....very bad idea to have a houseboy. Bad idea
Waw I Love The Way You Think of Your Help as a Person,I'm Jamaican and I've Had some horrifying experiences working with Nigerians
I totally agree....the master bedroom is sacred and no house managers should clean nor make that bed.
Thanks Suzy for information, have learnt many things
Also what I hate is people treating helpers like things, like some employers would say,"if you get pregnant then you be fired" like really now...and they are not supposed to have friends especially if they are staying in
They've never made my bed and yes I don't allow total strangers to sleep with my Precious, Priceless Jewels from Heaven!
Hahahahahah don't wonder
Just bumped into your video for the 1st time! Love your energy & humor. And a big FAT Amen to ALL of your points here!
Newly retired teacher in USA. 💗
Thank you Barbara! 😊 Welcome to the family. 💐🤗
The point of a househelp is to help out, not become a slave to every little thing you can do yourself.
I just found your channel and I’m already hooked. Apart from cooking in large batches, I’m already doing all the other points. House helps are there to help and not to take on the responsibility of the parents completely. I love your content and you’re so entertaining and pretty.
Thank you Lucy! 😊 Welcome to the family! 🤗💐
Thanks. I just discovered your channel today and am here to stay
Thank you girl! Welcome to the fam! 💐🌸

The best youtuber ever. I love, love, love all your content.
Aaaww! Thank you!💐🤗
What then should be her duties?
U've really got a compassionate & considerate heart. If I was working for you, it'll be what Nigerians call "soft job, big money"
Hi! Here is a video I did on what the househelp does... ruclips.net/video/bYYSElabps8/видео.htmlsi=LO5uWc8xsck-1w5v
Girl! , you are making a lot of sense. Thanks.
Totally agree with all your rules, coz I do nearly all of them. Except cleaning my room - I spread the bed and tidy up all surfaces, but the help cleans the floor. Great work mama! Yours is common sense management of your household and I love it.
You are just one in a million
Thank you Morine!💐
We have kept all this rules in our 21 years of marriage. Thanks for sharing.Kudos
I totally agree 👍
I like the way you say, "and"... in every sentence! Good job Suzy.
😁
hi suzzy thanks for this..i am a mom to one boy,i have always told my hubby that i will never let my baby share a room with anyone including relatives.. he says i am paranoid and for this reason i have never had a stay in nanny
Wow,,,,l love this l wish everyone is thinking like you..some see househelps like they don't get tired ,some treat them horrible ..they are helping and we need to understand that they are human beings like any one else... thanks for this dear
On point, kwanza Mimi napenda kufanya kazi zangu zote, especially kupika
Very true dear....Ladies let's learn to do most things ourselves to avoid unnecessary drama in our homes. Thankfully, technology has blessed us with machines that makes life extremely easy (washing machine, ironing and folding machine, dishwasher etc)
Let's also allow our kids learn to do things for themselves. This is not slavery, it's good living. I love this video
You... I like so very much. I'm instantly in love and have watched several of your videos just after coming across one of your amazing 'How to make peanut butter at home' videos. What a blessing!
Thank you Vungani!🌺💐
