    @1:19 you comment on how he tunes the variable resistor to cancel the 60hz hum, which sounds logical but... what if I'm playing in a country with 50hz AC? Am I screwed? Are there 2 versions of the pickup, one for 60hz and another for 50hz?

      If you ever took one apart to find out let us know :) I bet it's not going to impact much since they are close frequencies.

    if hum comes from impedence voltage would you be able to use bridge wattage as wattage dont hum

    Interesting how low tech this factory is. It’s like you stepped into a time machine that took you back 60 years. Nowadays this kind of manual labor can only be found in third world countries and apparently in USA . Strikes me that there a no safety measures anywhere to be found near the machines. Long haired dude is operating the router without a hair net etc.

    Interesting video, but they might as well move the company across the border to Mexico
    it would be even cheaper to run...
    Probably 90% of the workers are Mexican anyway.

    • @ramencurry6672
      @ramencurry6672 Год назад

      Why? So no jobs in America and you want to pay cheaper prices?

  • @robbieheight3374

    should be called SEE MORE mexicans !!! I love Duncans but geeeeezz do they hire any Americans ???

    • @TremorBear
      @TremorBear 8 лет назад +2

      +Robbie Height ...these are Americans....North Americans and some are US citizens. White Americans would settle for the pay to make these things.

      Here in California, "white" Americans make up a little less than half the population. I'm white, but British not American. People do all kinds of jobs here and given the high cost of living and limited safety net for when things go wrong, many will take whatever jobs they can get. I'm sure that many people at SD could be in much worse places.

    After seeing who works at Seymour duncans factory makes me wonder how you have mcdonalds workers, just resumes of ex fast food workers past work history, and high school drop outs making and testing guitar pickups that don't even have entry level college courses in electronics or magnetic guitar pickup theory is a joke. Do I really want to spend my money on Seymour Duncan pickups after seeing this? NO

    I sure hope Seymour isn't hiring illegals?

    • @regularguy316
      @regularguy316 9 лет назад +1

      How else are they going to get someone for $2 an hour to do the same repetitive work day in day out? These people do the same thing over and over and over. Mind numbing work and that doesn't need any intelligence.

    • @tonymarinelli7304
      @tonymarinelli7304 9 лет назад

      You have a point.

    • @regularguy316

      Tony Marinelli
      Guaranteed they hire a third party to hire the illegals. So they won't get in trouble for it. So many US firms do this. America cries about the illegals, yet hires them all.

    • @tonymarinelli7304
      @tonymarinelli7304 9 лет назад

      So, you think that they go through a hiring service of some type? Very clever!!!!

    • @regularguy316
      @regularguy316 9 лет назад

      Tony Marinelli
      99% of firms in California do this. That way if the INS turn up, they can claim they knew nothing about it nor get fined over it.
