So now I won’t be able to see the snowflake without thinking about frogs feet! And the trivet you used made me think of a spider. You are so full of wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing.
I had this 20 years ago only it was blue and obviously a different vendor. I loved it and the possibilities were endless. Gave it away 9 years ago and I regret it to this day. Intend to buy this soon. Also back in the day, I used things around the house that had a pattern for example, lace tablecloth, doilies, etc. Great video and ideas.
Yes, I wonder how many people remember the blue ones. I kept mine because I keep everything. 😊 Just like clothes, I find that styles repeat themselves. The blue ones came in different shapes like circles, triangles and half circles as well as rectangles. I remember pressing spaghetti noodles and all sorts of weird things into it. So fun! Thanks for mentioning it.
I do too, even though I'm really more of a 'crisp' girl. LOL! I love that you can get different looks with different techniques! Thanks so much for watching!
What a magical wealth of inspiration! Thanks for getting my wheels turning Ardyth! It is always a joy to have you join me in the Card Crafter's Collaborative (3Cs) on RUclips!
The advantage for all of our young crafter's is that everything is new to them. The foam stamping blocks have been around for many years and I don't think they ever really caught on. Mine are blue and I have had them for...maybe 15 years. I'm sure they were a "thing" before I bought them. I actually put them in the donate pile last year while purging craft supplies I wasn't using, but my hubby just hates parting with anything. I must admit that I like them much better with the modern dies and 3D embossing folders than I did when I bought them. Thanks to my hubby, the eternal collector, I didn't have to order any! Now...if he could just find me a bigger craft room...🤣
Hi Ardith, These are great tips. I bought one of these stamping pounds while back but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Even with Simon demonstrating it he didn’t come up with as many good ideas as you did. Thanks for sharing
As for your question of excess inks or excess panels: I just can‘t bear to waste my leftover ink! I put my backgrounds into a box where they stand up vertically, so I can flick through them. They do sit there for a while sometimes, I admit but I have also often found just the right background for a card I was making - after it had been sitting around for a long time… As ever, thank you for your fantastic, inspiring vides, Ardyth. Kind regards from Germany, Nicola
Wow that stamping foam is amazing. My son lives in Wisconsin so I'll ask him to get it for me, I'm in Australia and he'll be home for Christmas. Thank you Ardyth.
I bought the foam several months ago, packed it for moving, which is yet to happen. I'm grateful you made this video and loved every card, particularly the mandala look. I'm so glad you switched from a wipe to a microfibre cloth. Wipes are disposable but not biodegradable since they are over 80% plastic. Imagine that on the baby's skin. I'm certain you know this; maybe not everyone does. I do not use wipes of any kind now. Ok, off the soapbox. I would keep the extra panels in a container on my paper stash bookcase for future use. It's there, may as well make the extras. They will make quick cards. 💖🇨🇦🥰
Love love love the frog feet, cracked me up. I have the foam, had it for awhile, wasn’t sure what to use it on, now I know. Ranger used to sell sheets of stamping foam, to mass produce cards Back in the day. Recently found a video from WSNY back when with Tim Holtz using the sheet of stamping foam. Both will be super to have on hand. I have the big sheet but haven’t used it yet. I now have sooo many ideas for this, thanks to you.
Thank you Ardyth for another great tutorial. The last card might be my favorite too, but honestly I liked all of them. Don’t waste ink, make lots of backgrounds or patterned paper. Can be used for die cutting too. Also using embossing folders with ink is a lot of fun too. I think the non 3D folders gives me a better result than the 3D folders, but perhaps there are tricks I don’t know (yet). On to some binge watching of your shorts (I love those too) 👍
Wow Ardyth, I love your card collection. The colors are surprisingly festive. I have the foam squares on my wish list and now I can't wait to purchase them. They will be a perfect stocking stuffer for my daughter, and me! Thanks for sharing so many versions with each impression. I think the plaid effect is special. I know your Thanksgiving was celebrated earlier but I'm thankful for you and how generous you are with your talent and inspiration. I'm a New England girl and Thanksgiving has always been a big family holiday for us. I will be thinking of you and your family as we gather.🌷🌷
Ardyth your videos are ….full of good ideas, not long, and understandable! I’ve had Simon’s stamping foam since it was available; LOVE it! I’ve wowed many a non card maker friend with it, and how user friendly it is. One thing I use it for a lot is my favorite subject: nature stamps; leaves, grasses! I trimmed a piece off my neighbors chaste tree, made the impression on the foam, and she loved it so much she asked for several to send out for Thanksgiving cards. The colors are always adaptable for whatever project you have. Try it with leaves….you will be wowed! 😄
@@ardyth 1 more tip to share with you regarding your magnets for your Misti (stamp platform): I wrap mine in a piece of duct tape, doubling it on the open end, leaving an end to easily grab. The extra bonus to that is if the magnets pull together, the magnets don't break. AND! It's more difficult to lose the magnets that way. The tape does not seem to hamper the magnets strength in sticking to the platform.
@@LaurieONeall Thanks! I have done that back when I had thicker magnets. The very thin, but 1.25 inch round ones I have now don't need it - they are really easy to pick up and do not grab my fingers or break (so far, anyway) when they snap together.
This is a great explanation of the stamping foam, and some really pretty examples. I don't have any yet but will probably get the bigger size. The small panels did look very nice with the white border but I'm sure I would make a mess of the edges and want to trim my panels down. I also need to get some of that gold cardstock and the gems!
OMG. Love this video! I have the Stamping Foam but haven’t used it. I have embossing folders but no machine to run them through. I can combine the two as you demonstrated! So many cool ideas. Thank you so much.
Thanks for this video! I purchased the foam blocks and tried them but wasn't that patient playing around with them. They have now become more unused craft supplies in my craft room. After watching your video I will play with them some more. I'm loving all your tutorials and videos!
Haha! I think that's ok - we go through seasons of creativity and at least they're not expensive. But if you give it a try, I'm sure you'll find fun ways to use them. Good luck! Thanks for watching!
What a fun video! I keep everything so I would never waste the ink! Stamping on embossing folders is awesome! You get a letterpress look with dimension! Loved the trivet you used here! TYFS ❤️🦋💜❄️🌲
I really enjoyed this video. The more of the stamping foam videos I watch the better since I too haven’t used it much. I had only the small one last time I got it out and a really fun idea came to mind. I cut the panel down smaller and in some could use the outside frame either the main panel inside and others I cut a frame, but with the small panel I used acetate instead of a card panel to make my panel look like it was floating and put them at an angle. Then a sentiment and turned out really cool! I wish I could show you because it sound’s confusing but you can figure it out. Im hoping after holidays and my only one birthday in between to get photos on my IG page. You can check back there. I did get the big ones but no time for that now. I’ve spent 3 days die cutting panels, frames and words for my very late Christmas cards. Don’t know if I’ll make it! Great fun video! I like that you an bring the image of a die into the card inside or on the envelope to match and have good fluidity.
Thanks! Yes I saw that, but his inks are firm/felt, whereas the Catherine Pooler inks I use are foam and very juicy. I found when I swiped the ink, the edge of the stamping foam would catch a lot of excess ink resulting in uneven inking around the edges and the pouncing seemed to work ok. Thanks for a good reminder that we should try multiple methods when we're using different supplies, to find what works best! Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!
I just wish that people would stop saying that Simon Hurley came up with this stuff. I was using these things probably before Simon Hurley was even born. I had a couple of them, same exact size, only difference was that they were blue. At most, he revived a great craft product that unfortunately had gone by the wayside. Just for info, you can use ANY craft foam to do this, as long as it's not the super thin type. It's something about the way the foam is made that gives it this property! Have a wonderful day!
Pretty often - I do a lot less stamping, and a lot more ink blending, direct-to-paper techniques, so I go through a lot of ink, especially for my favourite colours!
Yes he uses different ink and always gets amazing results! I tried both and found that tapping worked better for me with these inks. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ardyth for the inspiration. 💕 Love how all of your cards turned out. Is this stamping foam block the same as what was around over 10 years ago? I do.have that and haven't purchased the new Simon Hurley's one incase it's the same type of product.
Yes, I'm definitely a fast-talker. The good news is you can control the speed of any video you watch with the controls in the bottom right corner of the screen. Thanks for the feedback.
So now I won’t be able to see the snowflake without thinking about frogs feet! And the trivet you used made me think of a spider. You are so full of wonderful ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Haha! I saw the spider too! I may have to do another one... Thanks for watching!
I would call the foam print the negative as the stamp print is the positive. Great cards as usual.
Thanks for watching!
Haha! I had that one too! I think the gray makes it easier to see what inks you have on it. Thanks for watching!
So fun! This little lump of foam❤️
I love this craft foam!
Me too! Thanks for watching!
I really like the imperfect slightly blurry look the foam gives
I do too, even though I'm really more of a 'crisp' girl. LOL! I love that you can get different looks with different techniques! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Ardyth, You have made some lovely backgrounds, and the cards made with them are beautiful, TFS. Cheers Anna.
Thank you so much 😊
Frog feet! I wondered what you meant until I saw the frog. Delightful!
Haha! They appeal to me! Thanks for watching!
I was gifted one of his blocks. Thank you for the tips. Great cards you made.
Lucky you! It's so fun!
What versatility! Amazing cards!
Thanks so much!
Wow, wow, wow!!!
Thanks for watching!
Just love all your playing around! Gorgeous cards!
Thanks so much!
What a magical wealth of inspiration! Thanks for getting my wheels turning Ardyth! It is always a joy to have you join me in the Card Crafter's Collaborative (3Cs) on RUclips!
Thanks so much, Robin - I enjoyed exploring this magical theme!
I think the magic is from all the things you can impress.... think it is going on my Christmas List!
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
The trivet impression was my favorite. Although as usual the whole video contains a wealth of information and techniques. Thanks again Ardyth.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful cards 🥰 I love your color choices, the way you used the stamp foam and your card designs ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Thank you so much!

The trivet and placemat impressions are beautiful.
Thank you!
This foam is definitely on my wish list! Love all the samples you shared! What a versatile tool!
Thanks so much for watching!
What a fun video! Must add the stamping foam to my Christmas list.
Thanks for watching!
You are so right! I rarely use the "extras". 😊
Thanks for watching!
This is a great technique. Love that trivet!
Thanks so much!
Great tips like always ! Nice Cards ! Thank you !😊

Haha! That's high praise! Thanks so much!
Wonderful use of the foam. I'm going to try these . Thanks, Ardyth.
You'll have fun with them! Thanks for watching!

Wow that stamping foam is amazing. My son lives in Wisconsin so I'll ask him to get it for me, I'm in Australia and he'll be home for Christmas. Thank you Ardyth.
Thanks for watching!
Oh wow! This is so cool!! And now I need to some of that foam! Thanks for sharing!
It's a great, inexpensive way to get more from what you have! Thanks so much for watching!
Very good examples of what you can do with that foam. I still have a yellow one that I bought years and years ago.
LOL! Yes, I think I had a blue one years ago. It's one of those old standards that I often forget to use! Thanks for watching!
I bought the foam several months ago, packed it for moving, which is yet to happen. I'm grateful you made this video and loved every card, particularly the mandala look. I know that about wipes, but they're still good for some things! But I do try to use my cloths as much as I can! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for explaining the frog feet comment.
Haha! I have a strange imagination sometimes.... Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much,, Ardyth, for reminding me of ways to use the stamping foam - love your ideas!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing! Love the results and all your tips!
Thanks so much!
I’m like others, I have the foam only used it a couple of times but love the results when I do
Me too! Thanks for watching!
You always have fabulous tips, awesome video!🙏🎄
Thanks so much!
Anytime you post I check it out.
Thank you!
What a creative tool Ardyth, will check this out on Simon’s site…thank you…🎉❤
Thanks for watching!
Amazing! A must try. Thank you your instructions as always were clear and easy to follow.

Holy cow! I agree! That little chunk of foam IS magic! Waiting for mine to arrive! I can't wait to try out different impressions!!! TFS!

I love Simon’s stamping foam! It’s an amazing tool! Thanks for showcasing it. 👍🏼
It really is amazing! Thanks for watching!

OMG. Love this video! I have the Stamping Foam but haven’t used it. I have embossing folders but no machine to run them through. I can combine the two as you demonstrated! So many cool ideas. Thank you so much.
You can also try a rolling pin with your embossing folders - not sure if it will work, but it might! lol! Thanks for watching!
👍✌️🙏❤️✨ thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I’ve had the foam for a while but I haven’t used it a lot yet. This video is very inspiring so I’m gonna use it this weekend!
So glad you're feeling inspired! Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing. I haven't tried this technique yet.

Thanks for watching!
I have had a stamping foam for a while now but have not used it. Your video today has inspired me to get going! Thanks
Thanks so much for watching!
I was skeptical about the size, but a friend and I split a pack. I have enjoyed it. You can use the side as a border
Ooh, you clever thing! You're right! That's a great idea and a way to get even more from it! Thanks for watching!
I never heard of stamping foam that is really cool👍I think I want to try it Really great videos👍❤️‼️
Thanks so much 😊
This is a thorough video of the Stamping Foam 101 and over the top! 💕 I love the surprising and innovative trivet design❣️

Another tip which can make a difference is that Simon Hurley says to rub the ink pad on instead of pouncing (opposite way to using a stamp)
Just for info, you can use ANY craft foam to do this, as long as it's not the super thin type. It's something about the way the foam is made that gives it this property! Have a wonderful day!
Yes, I had the blue one too. I don't pretend to know how all the business decisions get made, but I'm glad this one got revived. Thanks for watching!
I notice you use the same inks as I do, Catherine Pooler Inks. How many times do you re-ink your pads?
Pretty often - I do a lot less stamping, and a lot more ink blending, direct-to-paper techniques, so I go through a lot of ink, especially for my favourite colours!
Simon hurley suggests you swipe the ink onto the foam stamp instead of tapping it on for the best coverage.
Yes he uses different ink and always gets amazing results! I tried both and found that tapping worked better for me with these inks. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Ardyth for the inspiration. 💕
Love how all of your cards turned out. Is this stamping foam block the same as what was around over 10 years ago? I do.have that and haven't purchased the new Simon Hurley's one incase it's the same type of product.
If you have a blue one, yes, it's very similar. I had it, but I don't have it anymore so I haven't done a direct comparison. Thanks for watching!
You mentioned pixie dust but I don't see it in the supply list. Please advise. Thanks.
Pixie Dust is the purple ink. I think it is in the list. Thanks for watching!
Hey ardyth it’s me tunmise again how are you
Hi there! So good to see you last week! I hope we'll see you more often!
Yes but it’s a bit messy at the bottom edges,
Haha! If you don't like that, then this may not be for you and that's ok - we all find our own crafty path! Thanks for watching!
Hee hee - frog feet!
Lol! I see what I see! Thanks for watching!
You dampen your foam and temporarily adhere it to the block
Thanks for the tip!
Talk giving directions way too fast
Yes, I'm definitely a fast-talker. The good news is you can control the speed of any video you watch with the controls in the bottom right corner of the screen. Thanks for the feedback.
