    As a coach, and someone who has been obsessed with strength and conditioning for years, and newer to BJJ, this is hands down one of THE BEST videos I have seen breaking down how to train to get strong for BJJ. My training program is set up somewhat similar, and definitely learned some things from this video that I will try and change out/implement in the future. I've been saying very similar things to this video and its awesome to hear someone else confirming alot of what I believe to be true. Thanks for the great content.

    The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me ruclips.net/user/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.

    Thank you for the video, I would like to give this a go. A few questions please… 1.) What rep ranges and number of sets do you recommend for “Max Effort”, “Secondary” and “Dynamic Effort please?”
    2.) I see on both the upper body and lower body there are two exercises for the “Dynamic Effort” do you recommend that we do only one of those exercises or both?
    3.) There are also two exercises for “secondary” for day 2. Do you recommend doing both exercises or just one.
    Your answers and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

    What exactly do you mean dynamic exercises? Can you give example?

    • @colinb8332
      @colinb8332 2 года назад +4

      Here dynamic seems to mean higher rep, more movement. So for you heavy days, you could do things like bench press, deadlift, barbell back squat, shoulder press, etc
      For dynamic days, you’d do more plyometrics, calisthenics, and exercises like Bulgarian split squat, kettle bell swings, medicine ball throws, all at higher reps.

    • @joshuasettlage
      @joshuasettlage 2 года назад +1

      Dynamic Effort exercises are exercises done with a lighter weight, with the intention of doing them at maximum speed. If you can’t move the weights t maximum speed, it’s no quite dynamic effort work.

    • @joshuasettlage
      @joshuasettlage 10 месяцев назад

      Depends on a variety of factors. If you are doing Dynamic Effort work for the first time, a good place to start would be 9-12 sets of 1-3 reps. Focus on making each rep of each set as fast and explosive as possible.@@simplerstrength
